    Blazing Saddles is a classic!!! Gotta watch it. It's a perfect example of how humor can be used to show how utterly ridiculous racism is. Mel Brooks was genius!

    Mel Brooks was never afraid to throw in this kind of humour which with the exception of a few snowflakes.. was widely accepted and laughed about for years. A true genius of comedy.

      And he always made jokes about all races, including his own. That's why it still works, because you can see the ignorance, laugh at it, because you know that it's wrong to discriminate and how stupid people who think that way are.

    Mel Brooks actually didn’t want to use the hard-R word, but Richard Pryor insisted on it because it would let the audience sympathize with Bart.

    It's an amazing film. My favourite line is "where the white woman at?" It will make sense once you see it. Brilliant movie.

    Love it, such a funny movie, "The sheriff is a ni....." LOL the townspeople love him in the end - Mel Brooks at his best. They don't make movies like this anymore unfortunately.

    Definitely react to Blazing Saddles, but one word of advice - don’t edit out the racist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic slurs like some reactors. The film shows the absurdity and stupidity of racism by ridiculing the racists. Trying to sanitize the movie for a reaction audience in 2021 undermines what Mel Brooks was trying to do with this film and what makes it such a classic.

    This was my Dad’s favorite movie. We all laughed our asses off watching it and watching him laugh. Brings back great memories.

    Classic comedy, one of the best. Check out Young Frankenstein too. Mel Brooks is a comedic genius.
    And Gene Wilder is over the top funny in both films. Harvey Korman from the Carol Burnett show is in Blazing Saddles and is hysterical.

    You have to watch it...an absolute classic...so funny. I'm glad you take it in the spirt it is meant...The Late Great Richard Pryor wrote it along with Mel Brooks...both of them comedy geniuses...It portrays the stupidity of racism...

    Blazing saddles is a broad but also smart comedy. Full of quotable lines and visual humour. My favourite is The Waco kids shooting hand.

    Gotta watch the part when the two black workers fall in the quicksand white building the railroad and hear what Slim Pickens says. Or, how about the toll booth in the desert?
    That's one of the funniest movies ever.

    Blazing Saddles could NEVER get made today but is probably the best take on racism I have ever seen. The Black folk are in on the joke in this one. You'll laugh your ass off. It's genius.
    It's arguably one of the greatest and most important comedies ever made.
    Lucky for you, that's from early in the movie. It's barely even getting started. :)

    Tooo funny every time. Ricjard Pryor helped write the script. He was supposed to play the sheriff, but he was too messed up on drugs. Rip Pryor.

    Don't know if its been said, but that part was written of sheriff was written for Richard Pryor, but he had become controversial at the time because of language 🙄 so the studio was scared it would hurt the film.

    After BS you need to do a Mel Brooks marathon, Young Frankenstein & The Producers will get you started. Classic movies that have aged well as Brooks knows how to deliver a good gag especially at the expense of bigotry.

    This movie is such a classic, very funny!
    Have you seen Three Amigos 1986 , Comedy/Western with the cast of Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short?
    It's hilarious, check it out whenever you get the chance. I think you will enjoy it!

    When they were making the movie, the white actors were very reluctant to say the n-word. Burton Gilliam (Lyle) had such a hard time with it that Cleavon Little took him aside and told him it was okay to say it since it wasn’t his words.

    This is the BEST movie to show how stupid racism is, and it does it in the funniest way possible! It shows how the anti-humor squad nowadays have it completely wrong, edgy humor is sometimes the only way to hold a mirror up to some people and their dumb behaviors.
