Wow! Flossing those Wolverine and Saga books over your right shoulder. That is easily the prettiest Saga cover. Excellent get.
Thank you! I traded that SAGA book up/down for a 9.6 and signed! Which I consider a win
Another good thing is that they check for is if a comic is trimmed.
I think you did a fantastic job extremely professional awesome video
Nice video dude, clear explanations and nice examples. More!! :)
+Sgt Deathstroke Thank you!! I'll be doing a video for CBCS and another for PGX in the coming weeks! :)
I have new mutants #1 is in the bag original and never opened
me to . FWIW.
New mutants came bagged? Not xforce?
Good stuff thanks! I have an Iron Man 55 and want to protect it, forever. cheers
Great job
Good job man, yea very informative and organized. I think you could really benefit from some better lighting though. Seems a little dark in your room
Thanks for the tip. I have a Spawn #1 red label and was going to send it in to get regraded. LOL
Joseph Stoner noooo haha keep that collectible red label!
Comics 'n Stuff thanks to you I won't. I need to get my channel started, what all would I need?
I have a Spawn 1 also. Why not get it graded?
beautiful vid bro doing great work I really enjoyed it
+Undisputed Frost Thanks, man! I feel awful, I forgot to mention membership cost and grading price but I've gone ahead and added an annotation. I'll be redoing videos for CBCS and PGX as well!
What do you do for a signature?
What happens if they sign the plastic?
Does that count?
I rather have that then have them ruin the comic with their signature,
Some people may not mind but I do.
No way would I have the artist sign my first Superman appearance comic book.
If he were still alive that is.
mike smith I think it all boils down to personal opinion! Some people love to collect signed comics. Some people don’t. To each his own. I personally love signed books, but it’s okay to not like them!
And if they signed the plastic bag around the book (which, even to an artist, I’m sure would be odd) then i don’t think it would count, simply because they just signed a piece of plastic.
Nice video. I've enjoyed your videos on comics to invest in for 2017 and 2018. But have you done a video on how comics are graded by cgc? Or what damage to look for before sending a comic to be graded?
Yesterday I Got edge of Spider verse #2 first appearance of Spider Gwen Definitely a key issue for my collection
I have a Catwoman (2002 3rd Series) #51 that i'm thinking of getting graded
Tito Perez nice!
I've got some signed comics I wanted to send in for grading but they weren't witnessed as I'm in the UK, should I just send it in for a standard grading or would it still be eligible for the signed series?
curiouspeanut it wouldn’t be eligible for CGC Signature Series, but you could certainly have the signature authenticated through PGX or CBCS
Curious about how much it costs to grade them 🤔
A Witty Alpaca me too
I Don’t know but I know It’s not cheap
Hey man, what do you use to stand your CGC comics up for display
I use comic mount! You can get them on amazon for like $5!
Comics 'n Stuff today I was at comic con and bought the amazing Spider-Man #415 CGC Graded at a 9.8
Does restoration fix water stains?
Great question! Chemical restoration could potentially fix water stains (though it would be expensive). Dry cleaning will not.
Hey! Great job with your videos! Awseome collection btw!
Just had one question which I cannot find the answer to at all on the web!
I recently found a Daredevil 158 in pretty high grade! My question is how much would it cost in total to get it graded? I'm guessing I'd have to pay for standard grading being that if it came back a 9.8 it would exceed the modern tier's max$/book. CGC does not post any type of info on how their insurance fees work? Are the fees included in the tier price? Out of all my searching for an answer I found just one post by a guy who stated he had to pay $60 extra for the insurance! I just want to know how much it would cost in total to get that book (D.D.158) graded if it came back 9.8.? Any info is much appreciated! Thanks!
Hi Matt! When you send a book off to CGC or CBCS, you have to declare a Fair Market Value (FMV) on your submission form. When you declare your FMV, that will determine which tier your book will fall into. Generally speaking, their economy books cost $60 to grade plus Whatever the shipping cost is to and from CGC/CBCS. When sending the book to CGC/CBCS, if you want it to be insured, it has to be taken care of through the shipper. I know you have up to $50 free shipping insurance with USPS but anything above that, there is a fee. As for the return, there's generally something on the submission form that will tell you how much return shipping insurance is.
If you're worried about needing insurance while the book is with CGC/CBCS, don't worry. Remember the FMV? When you declare that, that IS your insurance. For example, one time, CGC lost a $200 book of mine, and they offered me three options; to have the book replaced, to have a check to me, or to have a credit for future grading. So you should be good there.
I really hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi really informative vid I have the original 4 part series of deadpool x 2 in mint condition I’m in the UK where and how would I get them certified and would it be worth me doing it?
Steven Hickman I would, Deadpool has become such a hit, anything of his seems to be selling at the moment!
Comics 'n Stuff thank you I’ll send them away to get done keep the videos coming they’re really informative thank you
I have 10 slabs in my collection and only two of them are below a 9.0 I have a 8.0 and a 5.5
Great video! Thanks for the info. Maybe use a limiter to get your volume a little louder though. Cheers
I'm glad you liked the video! This is one of my older videos, before I got better sound. Check out my ewer content!
Ugh. New Mutants 98. I used to have that one. It's worth like $500 today.
How about a new comic first print with alternative cover art? I want to got a few of my comics graded
Hey Devin love your videos man but i need your help and expertise. Can you make a video on how to set up a CGC account and explain it in simple terms the steps on what to do and what to choose that won't be too pricey. Like tiers etc. All i want to do is send in my comics get them clean and press if necessary then graded that's it. But i want to do things right so is it possible in making a video like that? Would highly appreciated thanks.
alex tavarez I can do my best! It might be a few weeks. The holidays are a little crazy and I am in the middle of a move but I will get to it!
Is that a picture of Typhlosion behind you? I can't stop staring at it lol
Brandon Amsberg that IS a Typhlosion. Forever my favorite Pokémon (=
Good video but I disagree with your definition of conserved versus restored. Simply put, conserved is the removal of material and restored is the addition of material.
Not my definition of conserved. This is the definition as defined by CGC comics. While not as eloquently said in a 6yo video, comic book conservation is reenforcing the structural integrity of a comic book by small fixes such as tear seals, staple replacement, adding less than 2 sq. in. of leaf casting, and the like.
What happens if I send in a comic that has been signed without a witness? Does it just get a blue label? What if I have a COA? Tnx, great vid.
Fadeto Black great question! It will come back with a green label from CGC, they will count it as a defect on the book.
If I ever submit comics I’d Go with PGX it’s much cheaper then CGC is
If I have a 1/50 certificate of batman/the spirit signed by the author, or superman confidential #1 signed by the author with a certificate for it stating that it's 1/100, will I be able to use that to get the CGC Signature Gold Label
Unfortunately, no. To get the CGC Yellow Signature Series label, a CGC witness must be present to witness the signature. You can still submit the book to CGC, it will just come back with a green Qualified label. Alternatively, you can send your book to CBCS and use their Verified Signature Program where they send the book off to a 3rd party signature authentication company and have the signature authenticated and then receive a red label.
i do not care about grades/ i prefer raw, and when i do want a specific book graded i just find the book in the grade i want and buy it. like 3% of my collection is graded books fuc that
thanks for the video. question. as a beginner comic book collector. at what point should i submit my comics to cgc?
You should submit them whenever you feel comfortable. Whether it's a high value comic, a classic cover that's hard to come by, or just one of your favorites- I'd say if you wanted to start protecting your collection, start submitting as soon as possible!
Thank you. Appreciate your input.
Hi I just got black panther 1 1977 in a new cgc case I have been hearing that the new cgc case causes wave damage I was wondering if that's true and if so should I take it out the case?
Martin Jones the new case has definitely had some issues, though they have been corrected over time. It depends on how new or old your CGC case is. If you don't wanna go through the extra trouble, then I'd say just take it out and get it regraded by CBCS
Okay thanks for the info have a blessed day
How do you actually submit them? New collector and looking to get some of my favorites graded for protection.
GenSpicyWeener hello! Welcome to the collecting community, if you go onto the CGC or CBCS or PGX website, they all have clear guidelines of how to submit comics listed!
Kinda funny they differentiate between something that would ruin the story. Slabbing it in an impenetrable sealed case definitely interferes with the story
So if I have a comic that’s signed and I was to send it in to CGC they won’t grade it?
They would grade it but if they didn’t witness the signing it would have the green Qualified label
Thanks for replying man
its_richy _rich anytime man!
doesn't cgc have better resale value then cbcs or pgx.
CGC and CBCS seem to value at about the same. PGX on the other hand gets a bad rep because of their light handed grading. I recently had a book that was graded at a 7.0 from CGC that I had regraded with PGX and it came back at a 9.2
some nice low grade books there
Thanks! I prefer mid-grade comics because they're affordable and still look nice!
Forever People 1, Jimmy Olsen 134, New Gods 1 and 7 are a few dandys going up fast....Stay passionate and keep collecting the 1st appearances
