The reaction by the Hollyoaks cast for the two lads was phenomenal! I understand that both Kieran and Emmett were and still are VERY popular with the cast but it seems the viewers feel the very same way. A sure sign of progressive times. I also had to laugh at the faces of the other runners ups though....they could believe they'd lost to an onscreen same-sex couple! lol
Except for the first hetero couple listed in the nominees (the Massood couple from EastEnders - can't remember the actors names off the top of my head - I know the woman is Nina Wadia). They looked genuinely happy for Stendan. At the moment of announcement you can see them in the little box nodding and clapping.
This is literally the most excited group of people I've ever seen when someone is winning an award. Did they all get a £100k raise or something each time they win? I just love the atmosphere here.

I'm so glad they won! Knowing in advance that they won from the title of the video and then watching the opposite-sex hopefuls with Emmett & Kieron shown last, I confess had me tittering. Nope, I said to the first, nope to the 2nd, nope to the 3rd, nope to 4th. yay E&K! Of course, it's an honor to be nominated, but E&K kept hitting it out of the ballpark. (I know they don't play much baseball in UK.) Kieron's glasses helped say that he was there as an actor, not the character Ste. Thanks e.s.f.!
