Shaun, Your modern DT&I has been an inspiration to my Erie Lackawanna Heritage & Museum RR(ELH &M RR), that operates in a fictitious Industrial & Rail fan park somewhere in northern NJ. Currently living in Central Fla. My HO ELH&M keeps me grounded to my younger years.
    Thanks, Good Job.,
    Rich

Interesting and ambitious backstory! I'm sure the Wheeling & Lake Erie is next on the acquisition list. Thanks for sharing.

    This took some thought!
I love a great "what if" concept!

Always awesome to see another person who's thought through their protolance as much as I have. Reminds me that I'm not insane lol.

Yep! I like this! It's a freelance, on historical RR! I did the same thing, with a "complete freelance" name, but an existing line. I love the way you added the early history into this! Very nice, and a very nice layout.
    Thank you for sharing

Research much? You definitely know all about the story of your railroad. Great job. I hope the movie theater has soundproof doors with the street running right outside, lol. Really nice layout.

I really enjoyed this! I too am taking a real railroad and giving it my own spin. Having such a detailed and believable history really helps bring your layout to life! I’m glad I found your channel and I’m looking forward to seeing more.

This is a wonderful project. My best friend sent me this because I’m in the process of doing a similar project except with the ICG but in the Magnolia State. And surrounding area. Thanks for more inspiration!

    i have just 4 notes.
    Massillon is pronounced Mass Lin.
the Massillon crossing of NS cant be realigned due to proximity needs for carload customers, as well as signaling issues, locations of an underground combination of gas and fiberoptic lines using the second ROW (former PRR, abandoned, B&O active with RJ Corman today. both ran parallel through town)
the Fort Wayne Line west of Crestline should also include CSX as part of the agreement, since they got it IRL from the CR split. its currently leased to a shortline by CSX, with NS having a 6 train per day maximum TR agreement (at Conrail's request, due to NS getting the former NYC Water Level Route)
the W&LE actually uses Trackage Rights on CSX to enter P-Burg.
other than that, this is a very informative explanation video. having spent significant time inside the W&LE HQ, as well as general railfanning within a 20 mile radius of Canton, there is alot of things you find on the ground and in the area that you dont see on Google Maps.
I hope this is helpful information.

Redo your reply without CSX. They don’t exist, and Conrail still does. I’m interested to see how that impacts what you say ☺️

BTW I had no idea how to pronounce Massillon even though I’m from Ohio, but blame google for that one. 😆😆😆

@@ModernDTI well, without CSX, NS wouldn't have been in any running on the Fort Wayne Line. Since they used the parallel NKP and WAB routings. NS only got usage of it through the CR split. So that would mean it would only be a DTI-CR interaction. Not sure how CP gets involved with that deal tbh.

@@trainfan4449 it’s a secondary line. They found profitability in a relief line for both Conrail and Chessie across Ohio, plus the NKP for NS. That line is (was) more than capable of handling traffic from all 3…sort of like a port authority. Handle who needs what where. Lol.

I wish all of the B&O STL line survived like that. So sad.
