Suzuki swimny? There is a rotting dukw in a scrapyard near me, I always thought they'd be built like a ship but it's just traditional coach build, Lory chassis, timber frame sheet Aly pinned on and at least half a ton of caulk. Exciting build mate, everyone loves an amphib.
"Swimny" thats genius! Could be the official name! Thats interesting i thought dukw's had a steel hull.... hopefully ill get the rest of the build up in the next few weeks, its 90% finished and turned out really well!
@@shauna260 I spend my days knocking dents out of light aircraft, it was definitely ally, I'm quite familiar with the stuff. Having started watching our man's build here I was looking into it a bit more and the army dukws were steel but the coastguard rebodied a load of surplus with ally and used them into the 70's doesn't make sense a us coastguard dukw being in a Lincolnshire scrap yard though, even if it was an old usaf bomber base.
@@turboconqueringmegaeagle9006 ah ok that’s good to know. Yes strange places where they turn up , perhaps the Americans thought Lincolnshire weather required the Dukw’s haha
