Between the ice, fear and panick, a teen probably could fall, but to lay limp without trying to get up. If mammoths are anything like elephants they're mean and smart. Elephants know they're bigger. A pride of elephants is charging that group of lions
A cave lion group of this size could definitely take down a juvenile like this, but in front of a whole herd, definitely not, and a cave lion wouldn’t let go of the neck just to roar, those few gasps of air the mammoth will take could undo all the cave lion’s work so far

While I really love the woolly mammoth design, and that the CGI is amazing, I really hate that a single cave lion was able to kill the teenager within 2 seconds. The teenager could have totally defended itself and the family had enough time to save them. Also I feel like the cave lions would have been more scared of the mammoths then they are shown here.
@@Skidd7046 they sure do While big cats are able to take down young calves The teenagers and adults would be much harder for them Especially when the adults and most likely the teenagers are able to defend themselves perfectly and can win fights
That’s Right. The Documentary did it wrong. It takes more than three cave lions to take down a teen mammoth. If the mammoth teen is down, the teen will still defend itself with the mammoths, size, super strength, trunks, and tucks to fight back. @@mozdaboz While that is true. They don’t instantly take them down. It takes a very long time to bring one down, and even then, they more often then not have to eat it alive, since their jaws aren’t wide enough to properly suffocate the elephant.

There’s two species of cave lion, the American cave lion (Panthera atrox) and the Eurasian cave lion (Panthera spelaea). On its heyday, the Eurasian cave lion could hunt large game like reindeer across Europe, Asia and even North America, thanks to the land bridge. The American cave lion prefers the same biomes as its African cousins: spacious savannas and grasslands.
