I have watched enough videos of other blacksmiths to realize how bad my hammering is lol.
Then I see you hammer, and you make them all look bad.
So clean, well done. Love the videos.

you sir are a special talent. this is so much more difficult that you make it look. only those who have tried understand.

yes, it is 1/4" stock, but you can do the same with any other dimension of stock.

@frozenwalkway Hi, that is a rounding hammer, hand forged with a striker by Brian. It is the hammer he forges with each of his students....

So the round side is for moving metal and the flat for flattening? Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge

Great job man! I just got started with a backyard forge and I'm trying to increase my skills and hammer control with small nifty projects like this. and hopefully, If i can swing this heart the right way, giving it as a gift may help me get my girlfriend back, showing her that I'm sorry ! Heres to hope!

Brian Brazeal - That is awesome! I have been watching your videos over and over for years. You are a true innovator and ambassador. I only wish I could've taken your Tools To Make Tools class when you were offering it. I see your influence in sooo many blacksmith videos here on youtube. I really appreciate your willingness to teach and further your craft. And giving people the ability to better their own lives in other countries is a HUGE blessing. You've inspired me personally. I was finally able to find a good anvil and am currently building up the tools to get started. Would you consider making me one of your rounding hammers? No pressure. I have wanted one of your rounding hammers for a very long time. I know your students sell them online. And no disrespect to them, but to have one made by the Master himself would be truly special. I sent you an email to your gmail account regarding this. If not, that's ok. I really appreciate your time and I thank you for being a person that shares your knowledge so freely. I don't know if you truly know the impact you've had on not only blacksmithing, but people's lives. Please keep doing what you are doing!

Brian Brazeal - I would consider it an honor if you would! You have just made my day! You tell me the specifics of how to get you the money and I will do it. I'm not a tire kicker. I wouldn't waste your time with that.

Brian Brazeal - Sounds awesome! To have a hammer crafted by the Brazeal brothers is even more special! Can I send you the money ahead of time so you aren't out of pocket for anything? Just send me a PayPal account or however you want me to do it and I will take care of it immediately. Oh, and I almost forgot I was so excited. How much to send you?

Brian Brazeal - I'm sorry, I got so excited about the hammer I didn't ask you about Kenya! If you don't mind sharing, what did you do there besides tool making? Did you share structural or ornamental blacksmithing? Or was it something else entirely. I wanted to hear all about it, but I obviously got side tracked. What can I say, I'm pretty simple minded.

My brother and I are going to Kenya later this year to set up a blacksmithing program at a private school. They want to make their school self sustainable. I'll be able to show them much more than just tools, and hopefully I will finally get this all documented so I can get a curriculum book made with video support. When I told their representative here that I have been wanting to do this from the start, he suggested filming an online course live from Africa as I'm showing them.

hey Brian Brazeal Ive learned how to make those little leaf key rings, but all I have right now is half inch re bar, and it has a tendency to crack and split. Is that because its just cheap steel or what?

Rebar is the hotdog / chorizo of the metal world. Ya just don't know what scrap was used in it....

P.s. I’ve been working, concentrating on my hammer control since I’ve been watching your videos and I must say that my over all forging and work has been 100% cleaner and I’m able to move more with less so thank you for your videos!!!

@@wolfparty4234 I charge $300 for my hammers. I can make you one for that price, but a lot of my students and now a lot of others have been making and selling them for considerably less. If you want me to make you one just send the money to edbrazeale@gmail.com and I will make it.

  • @frozenwalkway

what type of hammer is that?

  • @ericsprado4631

You used to be a horseshoer....How do I know (besides being so old I learned from the last retired U.S. Cavalry shoeing instructor)? The way you spin that heart around on top of your anvil with your hammer. Only we old hot shoers do that!!!
