There's nothing that warms your heart more than helping someone make their day better. I made friends with a homeless man and his wonderful dog. Occasionally, I would give him a gift card for food, or one Christmas a warm blanket for him and his dog, and some warm socks. I know he appreciated them, but what it did for me was probably more.
Oh Susan, never underestimate the impact you are making on thousands upon thousands of women across the globe! You have taught me to be brave, to keep trying, to stay young at heart. I have been out of the workforce for 9 years due to what I refer to as my dark night of the soul. I stayed in a self inflicted prison all this time, trying to get my confidence back, trying to have the courage to reinvent myself. Your story will forever be with me as it is very similar to mine! And in two very short weeks I will be starting a new job which absolutely fell from heaven! Am I scared? Susan, you may not realize what a blessing you and Desi truly are to so many of us. I have had a very emotional wk. seeing Desi run in the snow in your back yard, almost made me cry with joy. It truly is the little things in life that brings me so much joy. I also want to tell you how beautiful your home is. I wish I had you here to advise me on how to decorate my great room. We are going to get new furniture, and I have no decorating skills. I look at videos of homes, go on home tours and I just don't know how to put things together. I have looked at million dollar homes, that are not decorated near as nice as yours is. You have that gift of bringing everything together to look so beautiful, relaxing and just perfect. My little dog named Contessa is a 12 year old shi tzu x terrier. I feel like I have been blessed having her. She recovered from a major heart attack and every day counts.

I was in the chapter of life layering beautiful thrifting treasures in my home. I've turned the page to minimalist life. I was thinking of the work for my family after I die with all these treasures that no one is interested in having even for free! I've donated and given away trunk loads!!! I feel so much lighter in every way. My tables and walls are almost bare and I'm very happy. I'm almost 80 and I have more energy without all the "stuff". I don't regret a single thing I gave away knowing they are enjoyed in a new loving home. ❤
I just want to give a little warning with electric blankets and pets. Years ago we had a dog who would lay on the electric blanket and she stretched her legs out, and her claws went into the coils and she got electrocuted and died ...her heart stopped. I know some may not believe this, but my parents prayed over her all night and she came back and went limp several times, but ultimately survived... but nevertheless they never let her sleep on the electric blanket anymore, in fact they got rid of it. ❤ Love your videos!
Having an electric blanket is the BEST thing I ever gave myself. I turn it on about 30 minutes before I go to bed. It's SO comforting, cozy and warm. Its like therapy. I couldn't live without one now.
Kindness can be found within each of us. It is just a matter of extending your hand with a smile and saying hello. Engaging in a little conversation helps us discover other ways to brighten someone’s day. I tend to bake more in the winter months and prepare comfort food like chili and stew. I make a little extra and instead of leftovers I share what I have with close by neighbors who may be shut in or have a busy work schedule where cooking really becomes a chore. It brings me such joy to see their faces whenever I arrive with whatever. They feel guilty to accept and I explain that they are also helping me feel good to make their day…just paying it forward. Thank you for the moving videos you post each week. They are the highlight of my weekends!💕🙏
A lot of snow for you. Stay safe and at home if you can.. I have a guy that digs out my driveway and I pay him $40.00 and it is so worth it. Then our town does the road. At 80 I cannot dig snow anymore.
That woman probably derives great joy from being able to make her elder friends healthier and happier. There's so much power in giving. About winter decor, l prepped a white brocade oil tablecloth and my big, fluffy white and silver wreath, a large white snowflake for the banister and other frosty delights for my open porch. Upon opening the front door l realized nature beat me to it with her own SNOW THEME. The porch was covered in it.

I loved your heated blanket so much I checked online to see where I could scoop one up here in Canada for my fur babies. I thought you should know that in November 2023 your Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Berkshire RECALLED the heated throws and blankets due to FIRE & THERMAL BURN HAZARDS. Appreciation is a 2 way street. It is nice to be appreciated but more important to show appreciation. Many people don't voice appreciations when they could or should. Any janitorial staff I see 👀 at the mall, Library or Roberto at Church I always thank them for their work. A few weeks ago on the return loop of my long walk I had to cross at an intersection where a firetruck was waiting for the signal to change. As I crossed in front of the cab I gave the ASL sign for "I Love You" and the driver & shotgun smiled and waved back. This is not to brag about how wonderful I am (that's for another comment)- no, it's about being mindful. Taking the time to really see someone and acknowledge them for being a special creation. Everyday we have the opportunity to grumble or grin. We can hang our heads or look for the 🌇 sunset. So, if you read this far and plan to spread a smile, a wave, or a kind word this week (and perhaps every week), please give me a thumbs up. ❤ (I'd appreciate it!😂)

Susan, you may not realize what a blessing you and Desi truly are to so many of us. I have had a very emotional wk. seeing Desi run in the snow in your back yard, almost made me cry with joy. It truly is the little things in life that brings me so much joy. I also want to tell you how beautiful your home is. I wish I had you here to advise me on how to decorate my great room. We are going to get new furniture, and I have no decorating skills. I look at videos of homes, go on home tours and I just don't know how to put things together. I have looked at million dollar homes, that are not decorated near as nice as yours is. You have that gift of bringing everything together to look so beautiful, relaxing and just perfect. My little dog named Contessa is a 12 year old shi tzu x terrier. I feel like I have been blessed having her. She recovered from a major heart attack and every day counts.

I enjoy crocheting and making things for others but I especially love conducting Bible studies on zoom with others at no charge. I’m infirm so it’s hard for me to get out. Plus I have two rescue dogs and one cat adopted us right before I lost my other cat so he helped me during my grief.

I was in the chapter of life layering beautiful thrifting treasures in my home. I've turned the page to minimalist life. I was thinking of the work for my family after I die with all these treasures that no one is interested in having even for free!
I've donated and given away trunk loads!!! I feel so much lighter in every way. My tables and walls are almost bare and I'm very happy. I'm almost 80 and I have more energy without all the "stuff". I don't regret a single thing I gave away knowing they are enjoyed in a new loving home. ❤
I just want to give a little warning with electric blankets and pets. Years ago we had a dog who would lay on the electric blanket and she stretched her legs out, and her claws went into the coils and she got electrocuted and died ...her heart stopped. I know some may not believe this, but my parents prayed over her all night and she came back and went limp several times, but ultimately survived... but nevertheless they never let her sleep on the electric blanket anymore, in fact they got rid of it. ❤ Love your videos!

Having an electric blanket is the BEST thing I ever gave myself. I turn it on about 30 minutes before I go to bed. It's SO comforting, cozy and warm. Its like therapy. I couldn't live without one now.
What about going to senior homes/assisted living and playing the piano and siinging? You would be perfect! Bring Desi with as your back up singer.
My Mom would go to senior homes and play the piano, everyone loved it❤️
Kindness can be found within each of us. It is just a matter of extending your hand with a smile and saying hello. Engaging in a little conversation helps us discover other ways to brighten someone’s day. I tend to bake more in the winter months and prepare comfort food like chili and stew. I make a little extra and instead of leftovers I share what I have with close by neighbors who may be shut in or have a busy work schedule where cooking really becomes a chore. It brings me such joy to see their faces whenever I arrive with whatever. They feel guilty to accept and I explain that they are also helping me feel good to make their day…just paying it forward. Thank you for the moving videos you post each week. They are the highlight of my weekends!💕🙏
A lot of snow for you. Stay safe and at home if you can.. I have a guy that digs out my driveway and I pay him $40.00 and it is so worth it. Then our town does the road. At 80 I cannot dig snow anymore.
That woman probably derives great joy from being able to make her elder friends healthier and happier. There's so much power in giving. About winter decor, l prepped a white brocade oil tablecloth and my big, fluffy white and silver wreath, a large white snowflake for the banister and other frosty delights for my open porch. Upon opening the front door l realized nature beat me to it with her own SNOW THEME. The porch was covered in it.

I loved your heated blanket so much I checked online to see where I could scoop one up here in Canada for my fur babies. I thought you should know that in November 2023 your Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Berkshire RECALLED the heated throws and blankets due to FIRE & THERMAL BURN HAZARDS. I hope you read this as I would not want to see anything happen to you or Desi in your beautiful home! ❤❤

Appreciation is a 2 way street. It is nice to be appreciated but more important to show appreciation. Many people don't voice appreciations when they could or should. Any janitorial staff I see 👀 at the mall, Library or Roberto at Church I always thank them for their work. A few weeks ago on the return loop of my long walk I had to cross at an intersection where a firetruck was waiting for the signal to change. As I crossed in front of the cab I gave the ASL sign for "I Love You" and the driver & shotgun smiled and waved back. This is not to brag about how wonderful I am (that's for another comment)- no, it's about being mindful. Taking the time to really see someone and acknowledge them for being a special creation. Everyday we have the opportunity to grumble or grin. We can hang our heads or look for the 🌇 sunset. So, if you read this far and plan to spread a smile, a wave, or a kind word this week (and perhaps every week), please give me a thumbs up. ❤ (I'd appreciate it!😂)
