Absolutely LOVED the costumes on this show! That said, there is absolutely NO WAY that Charlotte could ever stab herself with whalebone... whalebone, contradictory to what mentioned in the show is NOT bone, but keratin, and as such is tender and soft, and especially once it warms up to the body, is extremely pliable and bendable. I.e. super comfortable. And Charlotte is not stupid and would have known that 😂 But the whole looks and silhouettes are amazing, such a great job on the costumes!!

A bad pair of stays can definitely poke a little, especially if the boning is too long, but in my experience it doesn't even get close to the discomfort of an ill-fitting underwire bra.
Whalebone (synthetic) once the end is rounded off, the length correct and carefully stitched into place does not much more than hold the fabric taught and smooth. The conical shape is mostly padding and strategic ruffles, not tight lacing for prolonged periods by everyone.
But kudos to the costume designers on the serie, the universe they created is simply breathtaking
This is totally true, however I believe that scene was more so a teenage girl in a tough situation complaining to her older brother and being kinda overdramatic in a way she knew would make a guy uncomfortable lol!!
I also advocate for reading the book..it's so good

The show is better as I do wish they put that scene when (Spoiler for anyone who hasn't read the book) Charlotte and George were going to dance where no one would see them as they saw Brimsley and Reynolds were dancing together and another scene in about how long Reynolds has been with the King as it's not mentioned in the show how long he has been there for

The first thing that happens in the show is a disclaimer that it is not historically accurate. It’s not a documentary it’s a romance
This show was a beautiful masterpiece. 🩷 I also loved the storyline between Violet and Agatha and (spoiler alert) I didn’t even make the connection between Violet young and mature right until the end so I loved the surprise! Lady Danbury is my favourite from Bridgerton so I loved that she had her own storyline here. 💞
