Two there's no weapons in Kleiner's Lab and Barney is undercover as a metrocop, so him giving you his gun would make no sense.
I feel like valve draw the textures by hand or something for every single mesh and the gun animation alone probably had more than 1 animator for realism (ok maybe not but what im saying is that they took alot of time and effort to make this)
Masterpiece’s like this were a total and complete escape, a total immersion into the world the passionate developers created. I will never forget my first time in the half life 2 world. There was always a hint of creepiness which was just the right amount for an excited compelling adventure.

2022 im playing this game for a first time in my life. This guy's walkthrough is so fast, it takes me 1 hour to go through the same part that he passes in 10 minutes.
Its not his first time playing though. You can tell by how easy he identifies the puzzle pieces and how easily he solves them. Probably has played the game hundreds of times.

He has some kind of cheats enabled. A grenade can go off next to him and he takes 1 HP damage. There was some weird glitch at 1:23:28 which his HP goes from 100 to exactly 1. So he has some cheats going that keeps him from dying.

Playing it for the first time right now. I tried getting into the original Half-Life a couple times before and intended to finish it before starting this, but it wasn't really my cup of tea... So yesterday I decided to catch up on the story on the internet and skip to Half-Life 2. Good decision. I'm enjoying it much more.

Half life is free to play until March on steam right now for the few people who have yet to play it. Now is the best time if you've ever thought about finally experiencing this game. Edit: it's hard to believe that in many ways this was the height of gaming, no hints, no objectives or markers, you had to figure it out yourself and actually listen to dialogue. I'm replaying it just for the sheer refreshing joy of it compared to modern games.

One thing that i remember when i first played this game that really just sparked something that made me attached to it was, i was going through some tunnels and there was a guy who helped me, he told me the way and warned me of manhats, i didnt think much of it until manhats invaded, i killed them and i just walked off, i got stuck on the next part so i can back thinking i missed something, and i saw that guy, lying there dead, and a single manhat flying around, and i just snapped, never has a video game made me feel emotion for a character helping you out an then 1 manhat you missed kills them. that is why this game is so good. its perfect at grasping your emotions and twisting them up and manipulating them. after that i felt like i had a purpose, when i would have a team i protected them, and when they died i went crazy on the enemy, this game is amazing, gr8 8/8 m8

I have 7 hours and I'm still in Ravenholm step on my level. Edit: I now have 20 hours total played and I'm still on Sandtraps because I keep replaying chapters. Edit 2: I have nearly 30 hours in HL2 and I am still on Follow Freeman.

I was in 6th grade the first time I ever played this. Was home from school on summer break and my parents would leave everyday for work. My mom used to make a lunch for me everyday and leave it in the fridge. One of the best times of my life. No responsibilities, playing hockey with my friends outside till nighttime, and coming across this game. The first one that really captured my soul as opposed to the usual sports games I played. I’ll never forget that feeling of playing this story for the first time.

I'll never forgot how i got this game......i was walking around in one of those cheap electronic stores, i was just browsing at cheap crap no one would buy then i came across a new still plastic wrapped Half-life 2 for the original xbox. i was like "Hey, this game looks interesting....." i bought it for a very cheap price.....got home....popped in the disc.....had a fucking epic adventure.

Half life is free to play until March on steam right now for the few people who have yet to play it. Now is the best time if you've ever thought about finally experiencing this game.
Edit: it's hard to believe that in many ways this was the height of gaming, no hints, no objectives or markers, you had to figure it out yourself and actually listen to dialogue. I'm replaying it just for the sheer refreshing joy of it compared to modern games.

It has amazing gameplay and its graphics are awesome. unlike other games it make you feel like, YES, YOU ARE GORDAN FREEMAN. i find this game so good because, instead of you just playing some noname guy in CoD, you know who you are, you know your purpose. This game just attacks you from all sides with epicness. One thing that i remember when i first played this game that really just sparked something that made me attached to it was, i was going through some tunnels and there was a guy who helped me, he told me the way and warned me of manhats, i didnt think much of it until manhats invaded, i killed them and i just walked off, i got stuck on the next part so i can back thinking i missed something, and i saw that guy, lying there dead, and a single manhat flying around, and i just snapped, never has a video game made me feel emotion for a character helping you out an then 1 manhat you missed kills them. that is why this game is so good. its perfect at grasping your emotions and twisting them up and manipulating them. after that i felt like i had a purpose, when i would have a team i protected them, and when they died i went crazy on the enemy, this game is amazing, gr8 8/8 m8

This game was honestly ahead of it's time, the weapon animations are smoother than any 2004 fps game, and has graphics equivalent to 2009.

I was in 6th grade the first time I ever played this. Was home from school on summer break and my parents would leave everyday for work. My mom used to make a lunch for me everyday and leave it in the fridge. One of the best times of my life. No responsibilities, playing hockey with my friends outside till nighttime, and coming across this game. The first one that really captured my soul as opposed to the usual sports games I played. I’ll never forget that feeling of playing this story for the first time.
