Hi I grew up in Latchford. If you'd done this task in the 1950's you would have to include Bank Quay Low Level, Arpley, Latchford and Lymm, Dallam and a few others!
Yeah it is quite unfortunate about the Beeching cuts, however it would have been a lot harder back then as I assume there would be nowhere near the amount of services there are today 😂
However, there would have been more services from GLZ before the 2 junctions shut. There would have also been a lot more to SNK because WAW didn't exist
I love the madness of these videos - they make the railways exciting. As a 1st-2nd year Uni student it's really cool to see what you do. The quality of these videos is so high!! Soon to be a new Geoff
I find myself tomorrow doing my own “pointless” journey by rail. Just because I can - and the tickets are cheap on Trainline!😂 Edinburgh to Edinburgh via Crewe, Lime St, Manchester and York. Not using the same TOC twice either. Your videos are somewhat inspiration.. apparently 🤔😂 Thanks, Nick!
@@SamSitar I’d thought about it tbh, mate. I’m planning on redoing and filming a challenge I done before Covid where I use every tube line, overground line and TOC in London in a few weeks. Could use the practice for YT😂
Hey, Irlam is a cafe with seats like train compartments and the best full English breakfast! Also a great collection of rail memorabilia!! You can also walk on a disused railway at Culcheth.
awesome journey congratulations for visiting all the stations in Warrington area including Sankey and all the stations in the Warrington area are lovely
Hi Nick another excellent video and I really enjoyed you going to visit all the stations in the Warrington bough by train. That was amazing you did it in the end.
Glaze Brook (the river which Glazebrook is named after) is the GM/Cheshire border. TfGM maintain it because it is in the TfGM ticket area, and prior to WAW opening there wasn't a Warrington stations ticket zone (although tickets from Manchester to BWD, WAC and WBQ were all the same price. Bizarrely PDG was more expensive)
I almost tried that on impulse today… weird coincidence (and kind of glad I didn't; I would have been soaked. The weather forecast convinced me to go to Liverpool instead)
Suppose Warrington can be quite emotional. Or was your journey full of childhood memories that was so emotional. I’ve been on many trips and I can tell you that it does bring back such great memories. I have never been to Warrington. But I definitely would like to go to Manchester.
Ah now, if you're up for more visits to all the stations in local authority areas, I give you Perthshire and Kinross: Gleneagles, Perth, Invergowrie, Dunkeld & Birnam, Pitlochry, Blair Atholl and... Rannoch. And you pretty much have to do the latter by train, as there's no alternative public transport west of Kinloch Rannoch!
I got very lucky with Sankey for Penketh! A train stopped in the station at a red signal and the conductor let me on! I did it more officially later on.
Surely. It would it not have been easier to go to Liverpool lime street. Then take the local train straight back down to Glazebrook that stops at every station back to Oxford Road. Or do you have to get off...
Why didn't you rake the TFW service to Manchester Airport from Bank Quay to Manchester Oxford Road. You're then on the line for the remaining stations.
hey nick, would love to chat to you about combining travelling, UA-cam and uni work as I want to start in September but I don’t know how to manage it all!
No one in Warrington would catch a train to Manchester on that line lol. Why didn’t you just stay on the train to cover birchwood, padgate, Warrington central, chapleford, sankey.
There,s no way Glazebrook can be classed as a Warrington station. More like Greater Manchester? Check the electoral bounderies, it ain,t Warrington for sure.
I love the way that all of the stations here had this little bit of character. Just something that adds a lot to them.
Find yourself somebody who loves you the way Nick loves every station in the borough of Warrington.
This is like Pointless Journeys on a way bigger scale - absolutely epic!!
I love the spontaneity of this video just having an idea and getting up and doing it - I can feel the energy just watching it.

film that for youtube.

You have achieved idol status

one of my favourite youtube finds. Love these videos,
Great vlog visiting all the stations in Warrington Nick. At least you made Sankey for Panketh in the end.
awesome journey congratulations for visiting all the stations in Warrington area including Sankey and all the stations in the Warrington area are lovely

Another crazy video . Thanks for brightening up my day😊

Great video. Good jeopardy. I feel it would have benefited from a diagram/map though for the benefit for us who don't know the area.
A brilliant video Nick, and it's good to see you made it to Sankey for Penketh in the end. And TPE roulette being involved in this lol.
When you were at Bank Quay you should have got the Transport for Wales service into Manchester as that goes straight to Piccadilly/Oxford Road.
Some lovely old station buildings.I'd have stopped for a refreshment at Irlam, looks great.
Catching up on your videos today.... Thank you for all this fun Nick!

Never has something so pointless broken someone so completely.
Watching a mere 2 minutes was enough to drive me to ring The Samaritans in absolute despair and despondency.
I got very lucky with Sankey for Penketh! A train stopped in the station at a red signal and the conductor let me on! I did it more officially later on.
Great video! Suggestion, revisit Irlam station on a more relaxed day and see all the railway themed stuff they have on display
Totally legendary nick i saw jen on the move at Manchester Piccadilly she said you had headed off after finishing a video or something
;)
i was wondering how you go to all these places by train by any chance do you use all line rail rovers to go to all these stations
Glazebrook used to be in Lancashire and post was Manchester Lancs. Also why did you not include Birchwood Ststion?
I say the Tram counts as you got unlucky on the TPE Roulette. Great video and some days it can be like that on the Railways as plans change
The good old TPE Roulette.. 😂
Nice video
Excellent video!
Not quite true that the only way you can get from Warrington Bank Quay to other Warrington stations. Shank's pony? The bus? ;)
Excellent video 👍
I thought your plans were scuppered when TPE pulled a TPE (as JenOnTheMove would say), but you did it in the end
Amazing but emotional as always! (Not the emotional part) Can't wait for the next video!
any relation to max fosh 🤣
Wow you actually managed to do it!
Before I knew you could just walk from Victoria to Piccadilly I did once do it by train, I think by changing at Oxford Road.
Good idea for a video, and it worked well.
Haven’t watched the video yet but isn’t the only 3 active + sankey which gif moth balled
Just being in Warrington is a emotional rollercoaster 😂. Great video as usual mate
Can confirm heh
Looks like you had fun Nick
What does "crushing realisation" mean?
Epic video
Classic mistake about Glazebrook it's literally just a few yards from the border good quiz question how many stations in Warrington
Surely. It would it not have been easier to go to Liverpool lime street. Then take the local train straight back down to Glazebrook that stops at every station back to Oxford Road. Or do you have to get off...
Well done!
Could you visualize the train rides that you take on a map? I think would really improve the quality of the video
Bank Quay is not the same without the smell of soap. 🙂
If you have a rail ticket to a manchester station that also covers tram travel in Zone 1 so no need for another ticket
Why didn't you rake the TFW service to Manchester Airport from Bank Quay to Manchester Oxford Road. You're then on the line for the remaining stations.
Me and da kids luv dis guy keep it up bro
You could go visit all the NR stations in London?
YESS WAZZA
hey nick, would love to chat to you about combining travelling, UA-cam and uni work as I want to start in September but I don’t know how to manage it all!
Nice!
Are you a Chesh (S of the Mersey) or a Lanc (N of the Mersey) Warringtonian?
He lives in the Mersey
(joke by the way)
No one in Warrington would catch a train to Manchester on that line lol. Why didn’t you just stay on the train to cover birchwood, padgate, Warrington central, chapleford, sankey.
Great video as usual
But how did you get home from there, as it was the last service of the day...? Or was there a last one back as well? 🤔
Probably got a lift I defo have no inside information :)
@@InkItOut 😁😉👍🏻😎
😂
Great video Nick! I've done almost all Warrington stations including Sankey for Penketh by train but still yet to do Padgate, Birchwood and Glazebrook
1:20 The TPE roulette is spinning… still spinning… still spinning… and it has landed on… CANCELLED! Typical…
I can't believe it CANCELLED, What are the chances
this man must spend atleast £100 a month on trains 😅
The Ordsall cord Manchester Victoria to Manchester Piccadilly
Is as much use as a chocolate teapot, A £85 million pounds chocolate Teapot.
Why buy a Tram ticket...?
Interchanges between Vic and Pic includes free Tram travel within the City Zone. or has Burnham got rid of that...?
He cheated right in the beginning 🤣
What ticket did you use? A North-west Rover? A day ranger?
There,s no way Glazebrook can be classed as a Warrington station. More like Greater Manchester? Check the electoral bounderies, it ain,t Warrington for sure.
Thank you the idea mate. :)
Hello again I played TPE roulette TPE won :(
i love nick videos
damn thats a hard one
If you find that an emotional rollercoaster, how do you deal with real everyday life?
2nd comment, I’m a massive fan
Lovely video. But "back in Warrington, good" can surely never have been said before!!! Only for the purposes of this video, surely?
