- Sewing a Zipper Fly Front. The fly front zipper insertion is probably the most difficult of all zipper insertions. In this video tutorial, I’ll break down all of the steps needed to perform a great looking zipper fly front to make it easy for you each and every time.

My coworker and I are costume technicians at Idaho State University. We have the first dress rehearsal for our current show TONIGHT. Well at last minute our boss told us we have to build two whole pairs of pants for an actor before his fitting in an hour! so yikes! we had no idea how to do a fly. usually we buy jeans or trousers but this actor is too large we have to make them.

Thank you, thank you. I have tried to understand how to put in a fly front zipper - I just couldn't get it right. I can't tell you how many times I ripped them out , etc... You explained this technique so clearly -- I believe that I can do it now. Please keep making these tutorials.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I was getting to frustrated trying to understand the pattern instructions. I have not sewn in years and now with all the boys all grown up and I have more me time I decided sew again and somethings just seem to be so hard to remember or seem to have changed. You made it so much easier I almost gave up.
