@@chargoesboom6990 This often gets brought up against 'Titanic' (1997) but people fail to realize, it's what made the movie successful and to a degree "accurate". Sure, it's unimaginable for a 1st and 3rd class passenger to go through all the things that Rose and Jack did in the movie, but their characters gave Cameron the chance to film the many events that real passengers went through, from being lost in the maze-like corridors of the lower decks, to having to go down with the ship because the lifeboats were all gone. Fictional characters give the director a chance to combine multiple real life experiences and show those through the eyes of these characters. Apparently, the crew and nurses were _constantly_ on edge, nervous for the moment they would be torpedoed or hit a mine. When it finally happened, everyone just went into motion to do the things procedure said they should. For the most part: Two lifeboat launches were done without any orders while the ship was still moving, and both lifeboats got pulled into the still-spinning propellers. By luck, Violet Jessup survived despite a concussion, while a Boy Scout clung to a nearby lifeboat falls line. Most of the listed casualties were aboard those two boats.
Yes, I imagine it would've been far more traumatizing for the titanic survivors if it was in the daytime. I.E all the people in the lifeboats would see all the others in the water and see them dying.

Oceanliner Designs contributed to this video and did a separate one on the Britannic alongside Titanic & Glory's new animation on their channel as well. Goes much deeper into the upbringing of Britannic & the characters of this tragedy.
Even if her career was cut short due to circumstances beyond her control (WWI), I think Britannic had the most noble end to her career. Rather than simply be scrapped like Olympic, when Britanic met her end, she was faithfully serving her country and acting as a shelter to protect life. And her sacrifice was not in vain. Her mission was accomplished and her country's victory was attained. She paid the ultimate price like a great many soldiers did in that war, but even in death she continues to serve life to this very day. Today Britanic acts as a shelter for the life that lives beneath the waves. She offers shelter for many fish and other sealife so that they may grow big and one day give life to us. Britannic did her duty. And now she has earned the right to rest. Rest easy Britannic. You did your duty and you did your country proud.
Well Olympic actually sunk a German submarine. It's one of the extremely few circumstances in which a civilian ship has sunk a vessel of war. Sort of like a zebra killing a lion. The captain of the Olympic spotted the sub and gave orders to ram it. The captain of the sub saw Olympic approaching at great speed and gave orders for an emergency dive. The sub just barely avoided the keel of the Olympic but the propellers then sliced the hull of the sub open. Olympic did her duty in WWI too and transported tons of troops to their destination. She was targeted by German subs but none ever managed to sink her. Though there may have been a great deal of luck which contributed. While in dry dock during the war the hull was checked and a rather large dent was found. The angle indicated something hit her from the *side* . Most likely a torpedo. So this meant that a torpedo actually had hit the Olympic but had failed to detonate and therefore just left the dent. This wasn't uncommon during WWI and bad detonators (Germany suffered from a shortage of strategic metals and had to use whatever replacement they could find) made some torpedoes duds. This was also the case with the early torpedoes used by the US Navy during WWII in which they slammed into Japanese ships without going off. Some people had noticed this even before the war began but this issue was never remedied until they proved themselves highly unreliable during the war. Pretty much all ships are scrapped in the end - no matter how highly successful and beloved they were. Aquitania served in *both* WWI and WWII. The years and wars took a heavy toll on her. "She offers shelter for many fish and other sealife so that they may grow big and one day give life to us." Well, with the ever worsening condition of coral reefs due to bad pollution of the oceans this is going to be a small victory. "Her mission was accomplished and her country's victory was attained." Let's not exaggerate here. Over 6000 ships were sunk by the German and Austro-Hungarian navies. Those several thousands more that managed to stay afloat granted the Entente its overall victory. Both the British and French had huge empires they could rely upon for vast quantities of goods for the war effort, but without ships they'd go nowhere. India's effort (then part of the empire) was huge: By the end of the war in 1918, more than a million Indian personnel had been sent overseas. As well as on the Western front, Indian divisions were sent to Egypt, Gallipoli and Mesopotamia. India also provided over 170,000 animals and 3,700,000 tons of supplies and stores, as well as ships from The Royal Indian Marine. Also jute for sandbags, and a large loan (the equivalent of about £2 billion today). 3,7 million tons of supplies to the Western Front and other British theaters of the war needed to be shipped. Britannic was a hospital ship and took care of the wounded of the *disastrous* Gallipolli campaign (Churchill's idea).
How horrible for White star line to envision these three ships and only one survives. Wow the money lost, lost of life and all the workers who built them. Thanks for the animation. All your hard work is greatly appreciated. HAPPY THANKSGIVIING.😢😮

I’m hoping someone could offer some insight because I’ve always wondered this. The mine caused the forward six compartments to flood, but that was within Britannic’s flood limit. So really, was the only deciding factor in her sinking any open port holes that would’ve allowed water to bypass bulkhead F (which went to B deck)? If I’m not mistaken, the wards were on E deck, and the nurses had opened those port holes earlier in the morning for ventilation, so that would’ve caused her to sink since water would ingress past the initially damaged compartments.
Also what didn't help was the water tight doors were left open. Some jammed and some simply were just left open (I think) for anyone left down there to have a chance to escape.
@@michaelmcguffin4342 No one had to use the watertight doors to escape. Each of the watertight compartments had vertical access to use as escape routes. For the boiler rooms, it was straight up the fiddleys to the base of the funnels.

This is incredible! I noticed two important changes from the original sinking animation. Firstly, the abandon ship signal was changed from two long whistle blasts to five shorter blasts. Secondly, there was no sound above the surface of the water to indicate when the ship hit the bottom. I’m really curious as to why you made these changes, especially the whistle signal.
Great animation! It would be nice to also have a video being a single wide shot of the entire thing, like in the 2016 animation! That would be the cherry on top of all of this
That was absolutely outstanding. Great job. It looked like a movie and the background noise was great. Good practice for the Titanic game. Keep it up....
So if I understood correctly from the Oceanliner Designs video about Britannic's sinking, the open port holes for ventilating the ship were the final push that doomed the Britannic? That's kinda sad to think about..
This was a very tragic sinking but the animation blew me away, scary but the animation I couldn’t help but be amazed great job you earned a new subscriber
Each time the graphics get better and better, there are some very talented people designing and programing all of that, and they surely have out done themselves this time. The biggest improvements since the last Britannic sinking video would probably be the water and its dynamics, but surely there is other improvements on just about everything. I can't wait to see the final product for the Titanic. Keep up the great work.
I don't want to be a "karen" here (heh) but some glaring technical inconsistencies to point out: (i) the funnels are still emitting smoke AFTER they have broken off! (while their mounts remain clear of any smoke and/or steam) OOPS?! (ii) assuming that the boilers are pretty much OUT at the point that the portion of the ship that contains them are now well below the water line (at that point); also, the smoke, at that point, should be WHITE and not black (and may contain ample amounts of steam as well..). Just mentioning this for historic and technical accuracy.
A question, is there a theory why Britannic didn't break in two while the Titanic did? Was it simply the speed of sinking, depth of water, improvements made to hull after Titanic, etc?
I'm thinking because the keel is from one end to other end of the ships, Britannic was listed heavily right side and capsized so there was not as much stress on the keel compared to Titanic, Titanic wasn't listed heavily and her bow was submerged underwater and the strength of the sea was weighing on the top of Titanic's bow, while her stern was rised off the surface, and the propellors and stern half weighed tons, the keel right in the middle of Titanic can't handle the stress, the pressure from the water at the bow and the weigh of the stern off-surface, plus as Sirboom said, Titanic was single hull, and Britannic had double hull as did Olympic following after Titanic tragedy.
A mixture of all three, plus Britannic hadn't reached the level of stress on her structure required to split her like Titanic had, due to her stronger hull.
and to think that today marks 107 years since the ship was created until its sinking I liked all the effort that the white star line put into clearing his name and in fact despite the fact that the britannic is the less recognized ship compared to her two sisters unlike the sinking of its sister the Titanic to its sinking, it was less serious despite the pitiful loss of 30 people, were -due to the more tolerable temperature, -more lifeboats -and that there were more ships to the rescue. Even compared to the remains of the Titanic, the Britannic sank in its entirety and if you want to visit it, it is safer at its shallowest depth and you only need to be a professional diver.
I really hope we get a new Britannic movie soon! This one is so ultradetailed! Also, I thought this was the real time sinking that lasted an hour (since Britannic sank in 55 minutes)… this is just the final plunge. When’s the hour long real time?
Huge props to whomever did the most polished sound design of one of these yet. Really elevates things. Awesome work everyone. It's amazing to see the artistry and technology improve with each attempt.
Only the Olympic, the third sister ship, survived her full 25-year service to end up being scrapped. Three mighty ships were mighty dreams and visions of mighty industrialists who didn't understand words like "no" and "cant" and "too big" or "death" they just pushed on with their dreams.
Just about professional level animation and sound design, without the multi-million dollar budget. Well done. The water effect is hard to render accurately, especially the edges of receding or advancing water I note.
It's eerily similar to her sister ship, Titanic's sinking: both hit in about the same spot, both going under at similar angles, practically a copycat of what happened just four years earlier. I find it disturbing.
Communication between the bridge and the engine room was severed by the mine explosion. Captain Bartlett wanted to stop the ship, but he couldn't communicate to the Engine Room.
While a good amount of people have heard of Britannic, one thing I wish would happen is that she gets a good movie, unlike the one from 2000

@@scurly0792 she sunk on her 6th voyage though, but at least she has 5 successful voyages
Great animation! It would be nice to also have a video being a single wide shot of the entire thing, like in the 2016 animation! That would be the cherry on top of all of this
It was scary
Idk why but the emergency whiste was so calming idk
Those 5 whistle blasts gave me chills. 👀😰
Hmhs Britannic
Absolutely amazing job.Well done you guys👍
Sheila Macbeth Mitchell is a Britannic survivor she did submarine to the Britannic Wreck in 1976
Very real reconstruction of the shipwreck of the Titanic's twin brother.
Sister*
Exquisite work as always! I especially liked the shot of the bow underwater with the fish swimming around it.
That was absolutely outstanding. Great job. It looked like a movie and the background noise was great. Good practice for the Titanic game. Keep it up....
This was extremely well done you guys!
This channel is important for history
I cant wait!
Yeah you can
Are we getting a Britannic launch animation?
Plz release patroness of the Mediterranean on console
what a beautiful ship. and what a coincidence, I am currently reading a book of one crewmember of U73..
"Don't worry" said the ocean "I'll look after her, I'll look after her..."
So if I understood correctly from the Oceanliner Designs video about Britannic's sinking, the open port holes for ventilating the ship were the final push that doomed the Britannic? That's kinda sad to think about..
Basically yes
Nothing can humble mankind more than to watch their greatest and largest creations being swallowed up in the sea like a monster eating it's prey.
Planning to buy this in near future on Steam and now we are waiting for same Titanic game :)
This animation looks beautiful Titanic Honor and Glory well done.👍
Who is better 4:57
Old britannic real time whistle
New britannic real time whistle
AMC needs to make a miniseries titled “White Star Sisters”
I would whole heartedly watch a remaster of the real time documentarys. There really good.
It was scary 😮😟
Scary..? How
Very well done, and an improvement over the older videos of this.
5:10 there is just something so sad about hearing those whistles blowing that makes it feel even more tragic
Amazing video!!!! So detailed and almost seems 100% real...
Britannic, for all its advancements in safety, was undone by open portholes. If not for those open portholes the ship would not have sunk.
I found this video about the sinking of the HMHS Britannic very good
This is incredible....
Very interesting video. Thanks for posting this.
This is incredible
This was a very tragic sinking but the animation blew me away, scary but the animation I couldn’t help but be amazed great job you earned a new subscriber
The sounds...
...oh my God the sounds...
Well done indeed! 👍
Watching this As A Engineer what is going to happen when that cold water reaches those Boilers? BOOM!
4:56 tetuonics whistle instead of britannics
Attention to detail is incredible, eg the rivets on the davits.
If ships had feelings, the Olympic is so mad right now.
Far better than the movie
This needs to be implemented into Patroness of the Mediterranean
That whistle is erie.
At 5:18 -- in a previous animation didn't you say that Charles Bartlett ordered two long blasts of the whistle?
A question, is there a theory why Britannic didn't break in two while the Titanic did? Was it simply the speed of sinking, depth of water, improvements made to hull after Titanic, etc?
Probably because either the ship sank too fast or it may have hit the bottom of the seabed so things couldn't break apart in time.
Basically all of those. Britannic having a full double hull was the biggest factor imo
A mixture of all three, plus Britannic hadn't reached the level of stress on her structure required to split her like Titanic had, due to her stronger hull.
and to think that today marks 107 years since the ship was created until its sinking
I liked all the effort that the white star line put into clearing his name and in fact
despite the fact that the britannic is the less recognized ship compared to her two sisters
unlike the sinking of its sister the Titanic to its sinking, it was less serious despite the pitiful loss of 30 people,
were
-due to the more tolerable temperature,
-more lifeboats
-and that there were more ships to the rescue.
Even compared to the remains of the Titanic, the Britannic sank in its entirety and if you want to visit it, it is safer at its shallowest depth and you only need to be a professional diver.
There’s only one thing wrong with this. The sign in the front is supposed to be red but otherwise pretty good.
The reason is according to Admiralty Specifications, the G.618 Plate was Black, not red.
I think the fourth funnel is the funnel we see in the wreck photo
I really hope we get a new Britannic movie soon! This one is so ultradetailed! Also, I thought this was the real time sinking that lasted an hour (since Britannic sank in 55 minutes)… this is just the final plunge. When’s the hour long real time?
Huge props to whomever did the most polished sound design of one of these yet. Really elevates things. Awesome work everyone. It's amazing to see the artistry and technology improve with each attempt.
Beautiful visual work on this! Bravo. And the sound effects work was terrific, as well!
George perman was last living Britannic survivor
Only the Olympic, the third sister ship, survived her full 25-year service to end up being scrapped. Three mighty ships were mighty dreams and visions of mighty industrialists who didn't understand words like "no" and "cant" and "too big" or "death" they just pushed on with their dreams.
"Wow!....beautifully made, & very informative....really hits home, what happened"🕯️🥀
I always assumed the central propeller turned clockwise for the ship to move forward(?). I guess there’s something new to learn each day!
Just about professional level animation and sound design, without the multi-million dollar budget. Well done. The water effect is hard to render accurately, especially the edges of receding or advancing water I note.
Violet Jessop, Arthur John priest and Archie jewel are all Titanic and Britannic survivors ❤
Happy to see someone finally mentioning Arthur John Priest,he was incredible but he is often forgotten.
Arthur John Priest was actually disgraced by the other stokers, feeling that every ship he entered had sunk.
Nicely done!
At least she had lifeboats even motor ones 🇬🇧
I couldn't never be a captain especially seeing a ship that big go down.
It is very shocking to see. The helplessness that comes from not being able to avoid tragedy.
Are you also going to make a new Britannic real time sinking?
It's eerily similar to her sister ship, Titanic's sinking: both hit in about the same spot, both going under at similar angles, practically a copycat of what happened just four years earlier. I find it disturbing.
So tantalizingly close to the shallows
One of my favorite ships ever built, even moreso than Titanic.
Why is the ship engine still running during sinking?
The Captain attempted to beach the ship.
Communication between the bridge and the engine room was severed by the mine explosion. Captain Bartlett wanted to stop the ship, but he couldn't communicate to the Engine Room.
The captain wanted to beach the ship on the nearby Island of Kea to stop the ship from fully sinking
This is really good. Can you make it in full real time sinking? Also please do the Lusitania sinking in real time. You have not done that yet.
Jack did a sinking of the Lusitania in his JackG animations channel it has over 444 thousand views
