I started driving in 2015 and from day 1 I made myself a promise to NEVER do a lease..bc that is not a true realistic owner operator..they will call it your truck as long as u pay them weekly...so I worked hard and bought 2 trucks and 3 trailers and I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE...SEE THE DIFFERENCE...AND AM LIVING THE DIFFERENCE.
Running for landstar so far is awesome
So the info on prime lease purchase I got my truck from them. 1052 was my weekly payment did this for 3 years. My balloon was 100 dollars the total paid for the truck was 164,000 had 2 years 200,000 miles left on warranty as far as it goes it was pretty fair. The problem is the micro managing that prime now does. You can’t open the door with out permission lol but that changes soon
It depends on the driver,company and how you apply yourself bec ause i did lease purchase and paid off my truck and inhave 2 other partners who also did the same you just gotta learn the system and the game.

That what sux about ELD on paper you could have stop took nap then played with your logbook and be a safer driver than having to drive by that clock. Glad I don't have to drive under that ELD crap. Glad I'm retired not driving today, not much more than hitting a time card from what see anymore .

I’m one of the 17 18% 👋🏾 I got mine from SFI back in 2020 paid it off in 2022 163k by myself was 1300/wk that’s with maintenance when my wife got her CDL to help me pay it off it was 2k/wk crazy but we did it & still got warranty on the truck till 2026. It can still be done but you got to be on point. I wouldn’t recommend it tho unless you got a dedicated account or you ready to work work. Like you said stack that bread up & get one cash or wait till another big boom like covid years & come out here & make it do what it do
SFI lease is 1300$ a week if you return the truck is 6000$ fee. If you lease on with landstar is about 5k. If you don’t like landstar it’s a 500$ transfer fee. Crazy.
Yup they charged me 7500 for returning my truck due to being out of work for a month and a half they were still adding up the weekly payments

Leasing a truck is never a good option unless you do it for maybe 6 months and then turn the truck back in. I would never attempt to “lease to own” a truck.
Were you leasing through Sterling Financial? When I was a trucker, I "leased" through them. Come to find out, it was a noncancelable lease. They sued me for the same amount. I took the paperwork to my attorney and he informed me that the judgement wasn't enforceable unless I went to Kansas where they were located. I threw it in the garbage and never looked back.

Yea bro i agree but there are some leases that people were really successful with. And thats the day that i passed you right after that melton truck matter of fact i tried to reach you on the cb but i forgot you didnt have on in the international

If you have to lease a truck its because your truck will be broke down for a while.
If many drivers know leasing ain’t good why do they keep on doing it should had read you lease papers before signing you should be mad at yourself not them

You’ll know if you see them. They are Landstar’s largest fleet owners and located in Fort Worth Texas. They usually start off their pitch with that info.
