There was a group of scientists who wanted to prove academia is ideologically captured by the woke who copied the "Angry German Man's book" but replaced the racism with feminism and progressive phrases.
They won several awards before coming out with the truth.
What's sad is, they proved their point, mostly no one noticed but academia basically destroyed those scientists careers.
I'm guessing the writers for the game knew about it, hence Nicole essentially doing the same strategy.
I looked up that story but all i found was a random forum post saying that it didn’t prove much anyway and a satire article.

As for a source, It was a group of scientists but the only name i can say for certain was James Lindsey (think I spelt the surname right)
Of that group he's gone on to sort of make a name for himself online.
It wasn't just Angry German guy btw, he also set about proving feminist academia was absurd by almost getting an award from them by saying they observed rape culture and toxic masculinity in dogs being walked in a dog walking park and used the reasoning "that dogs imitate their owners"- truly absurd stuff, yet they were very happy with the study despite it lacking any scientific merit.
James is all over UA-cam these days as when he got ousted from the scientific community he embraced the anti woke side.
I believe there is even a Joe Rogan podcast episode which covers most of what I mentioned.
