Hi Gary, congratulations to the winners of the MAL there was some beautiful work entered. I love your tree decorations, we have decorations that we collected over the years as well and one the children have made. Here in the UK it's also dark at 4pm and it's cold and horrible, we have had a few nasty storms this winter too strong winds and plenty of heavy rain. I'm not a winter person, I don't like it at all, I definitely like to stay home in the evenings. I love your makes you finished, the scarf you made from the Hobbii challenge is beautiful, such a lot of work in that. I also love the oceana fuzzy yarn, that's so pretty and I am all about the soft. I have to have only soft yarn on my skin. For jumpers and cardigans I like variegated yarns that make their own pattern as I go along. I have some James Brett marble chunky for my next project. 😊
Hello there - winter months keeps us in-doors often too. Lucky for us we are creative types that can find enjoyment with using our yarn. Your next project (with the chunky yarn) sounds delightful!
Hi Gary, your vine mosaic shawl is stunning…impeccable work as always!Oh wow I look forward to seeing your work of art using the Oceania in the colour octopi 🐙 Congratulations to the winners 👏🏻👏🏻Your Christmas tree is beautiful…the pictures of you,Chad and adorable Pixel are lovely.🧶🎄❤️
Your vine shawl is beautiful, very pretty colors you used. The oceana yarn is gorgeous, I can’t wait to see what you make with it. Congratulations to the winners of the Mal. Your Christmas tree is beautiful and Pixel looks comfy on the couch near it. 🎄🧶💜🙏🏻
❤❤❤good morning from New Hampshire.... I love all your makes, so very nice with great stitch definition....I can both knit and crochet, but my arthritis prefers crochet ...I can use fat hooks, so it causes less pain....loving your videos, and always checking out what Hank is wearing....best regards....😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Gary ! Looking good !! Now you know what I’m going to say about your work right ?! 😂 stunning, stunning stunning ! Love the hat and the colors. Fiber Spider is awesome ! I’ve made a few of his blankets. Haven’t tried that one but I did watch the tutorial. Is that a new tutorial of Crystals ? Haven’t seen that one hmm. Oh I have to watch and make that. 💙💙💙. It’s beautiful ! Crystal is AMAZING ! I’ve done hundreds of her crochet projects. Wow the colors are gorgeous on the mood board ! Everyone did a great job on the mood boards btw ❤. Congrats to winners !❤❤Great deal on the yarns. Sending love and blessings ! ❤❤
Congratulations to the winners! LOVE your finished shawl, oh my word, it's gorgeous, your workmanship is amazing! I'm also curious to see how your mesh shawl turns out, looks very fun. BTW--I also love to use 9" circs when decreasing hats. I go from using the 16" to using one 9", and then when that begins to be a bit tight, I switch to using two 9" circs instead of the DPNs and it works so much more easy for me.
Crystal has an awesome cardigan pattern. It's an almond stitch. It was a fun one to make, perhaps that'd be an option for that lovely yar!😊😊✌️🧡🍁👍🎄☃️🧑🎄🥰
Your slipstitch vine shawl came out stunning!! I don't think I could have done it, because I prefer knitting with my fabric "scrunched up". My "herbivore" is on a 40" fixed needle & probably around 500 stitches now. 🤷🏻♀️ I'm with you, charts are the way to go!! Yeah, what happened!?! Why can't we utilize the floor anymore!?!? It's just not fair! 😂🤣😂🤣
Congratulations to the winners. Your mosaic shawl is beautiful. I love the colors of your yarn, you will come up with something stunning. You and Chad have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Crystal has very nice patterns and I love what you are making.
Congratulations to the winners. I really love your Vines Shawl. That is a fabulous shawl. And I love that purple Oceana yarn. Ooooooooo lovely & it looks so soft.
Great yarn haul! As soon as I saw Craig's video on the smocking stitch, I knew I had to make a cowl with that pattern. I made mine with a 2 wt yarn and 5mm hook. Loved the mood board KAL. Perhaps I'll do your next one. Must check out the shawl from Crystal. I have a number of those cakes which would be perfect. Take care my yarny friend ❤
Wonderful shawl and WIPs. Great idea for your Nature's Walk blanket. Mine were not as big however I sure did sweat it out under them when connecting the rows + columns plus adding borders. Enjoy your purple yarn sweater adventure!
Hi Gary! Beautiful makes as always😊I love that Octopii yarn..just a stunning color!🔥I think it would be great in a ‘Flax Sweater’ by Tin Can Knits! Congrats to the winners!🥳
The Mosaic Vine Shawl is gorgeous. I love the hat, too. I wish I can knit as well as you. Right now I’m knitting a fair isle scarf using Lion Brand fair isle yarn. It’s a simple knit and purl scarf.🥰
That shawl is so lovely! The colors, the pattern -everything! Such beautiful work, Gary! Gosh, Christmas is here!!! I had big beanie-making plans. Not sure now🙃❤️
That Oceana yarn is stunning. I love octopus as well. I think you might have mentioned quite some time ago watching My Octopus Teacher, but for anyone who hasn't seen the documentary on Netflix it's worthwhile and very enlightening. Happy Holidays to you, Chad and Pixel
Gary, thank you for sharing the ribbed hat pattern. I do not use double point needles for anything; I use magic loop method. I learned how to avoid laddering where the two needles separate the project by pulling the first two stitches a bit tighter than the usual tension
Hi Gary; Congratulations on finishing the stunning vines mosaic - wonderful and beautiful!! When I work with blown fuzzy natural (somewhat) fibers (like a blown cashmere) I generally use an extended single crochet, which can give a height closer to a dc without the yarn clumping up on the body of the stitch. I just bought more and will attempt the alternating front loop sc and back loop sc - on consecutive rows the front loops go into a back loop and vice versa. This method provides a very nice drape without having holes in the stitches, and appears to me to need less yarn - I'm probably crazy about that, but thinking I get more yardage of fabric makes me happy. Happy Holidays!
Hi Cynthia - thanks for the tip on the stitch you use with "fuzzy" yarns. I like the idea to keep the fabric solid (without holes), so this would be definitely valuable. Happy Holidays!
It's been frustrating not sending out mail too. I know the Postal worker negotiations are crucial for future conditions. It's uncertain what the inflation of living will be in the next 12 months. Sending you much joy to you and yours friend!
Hi Gary, do yourself a favor: for small circumference knitting in the round try the two circulars method. I use it exclusively and have for years. In my humble opinion, it beats the britches off of DPNs (no "laddering" with two circs!👍) and Magic Loop. There are beaucoup tutorials available on UA-cam. Happy knitting!
I am renaming that shawl to the Million Dollar Shawl! Great yarns and patterns. Did you ever make the Christmas balls from Arne and Carlos for your tree? How awesome would that be! I am still wondering which yarn is 5! I'd bet it's expensive! Whatever you make with the fuzzy yarn, make sure it's easy. Frogging that is no picnic! I heard your fur baby. Missing mine but will see them Christmas!
Hello Jane - I'm so honored that you liked the Mosaic Vines shawl so much! I've never tried Arne and Carlos patterns before - I have seen their wonderful ornaments and have been tempted. I just get so busy at this time of year. Oh, yes I have given perfect softness in the past - in one video of happy mail this year (I think May/June) I rated many perfect 5s. (plus several before that too).
Love that vine shawl. Beautiful stitch work and colors. I had my eye on that Mai tai memento, but thought too long and almost every color was bought out! I wondered how it felt. Do you know that you never give a yarn a 5 for softness so you don't really have a scale of 1 to 5. Maybe a 1 to 4.5 scale. 🙃
LOL - you are right - I rarely give a perfect 5 for softness. I have done in several situations. In one video of Happy Mail from Crystal this year (May/June ...I think) I gave out many 5s.
Thanks Andrealouis - I have given 5 out of 5 for softness a few times. If you watch the video where I got some happy mail from Crystal earlier this year - I think I gave out many 5's. Before that time I also had a few 5's with some alpaca and mohair.
Hello Gary, I missed last video due to my work. I'll watch it later. That was smart to use another delivery company, I didn't think when I did my orders from knit picks, another from Hobbii & a 3rd from Mary maxim. I'm worried about what could happen to the yarn just sitting there among other packages. Is Pixel allowed into the the yarn room?😂Have a good night. I know it's late as I worked the late extended holiday hs here in Richmond. ❤
I'm not sure about the Dolce Cashmere being discontinued - I hope not. I'd look on Yarn Substitute website to seek out a like yarn. Here's what I found: yarnsub.com/yarns/hobbii/dolce_cashmere

OMW THAT VINE SHAWL IS STUNNING!!!! I ALSO LOVE THE TREE IN THE INTRO!!! Your ability to add your own little style to Crystal's pattern is awesome!!!
Everything you make is lovely. Can't wait to see what you do with octopi, it is a lovely colour!
I'm excited about working with it, too!
The mood board massage always so fun, and so talented people 😊😊❤ looking forward to the next🎉

The Hyperfixated tutorial from Crystal is one from a few weeks ago (maybe even a month).
Congratulations to both of the winners!🎉🎉🎉🎉

That decrease technique with two 9in circulars sounds like something I might like to try. Thank you kindly for the tip as well as the kind words.
Absolutely ADORE that shawl, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words.
I love the bone yard shawl and the vine shawl so beautiful. Congratulations to the winners.
Congratulations to the winners-everything was so beautiful!
beautiful makes and yarn...congratulations winners
Crystal has an awesome cardigan pattern. It's an almond stitch. It was a fun one to make, perhaps that'd be an option for that lovely yar!😊😊✌️🧡🍁👍🎄☃️🧑🎄🥰
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to look into that one.
Wow! First time I have won something. Thanks!
Friend loved her scarf and I’m grateful for this MAL.
I love the shawl Hank is wearing.
Hello there! Congratulations again!
@ lol. My enthusiasm overflowith! 😉

500 stitches WOW! What a mega beast!
LOL - I know, right ...no more kneeling on the floor for us!
Congratulations to the winners. Your mosaic shawl is beautiful. I love the colors of your yarn, you will come up with something stunning. You and Chad have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Crystal has very nice patterns and I love what you are making.
Thanks so much, I’m glad you liked the shawl - I’m excited to start on a new project using the yarn!
Congratulations to the winners. I really love your Vines Shawl. That is a fabulous shawl. And I love that purple Oceana yarn. Ooooooooo lovely & it looks so soft.
Hi Judy - the Oceana is a very soft yarn. I'm ready for a fuzzy sweater.
Loved the colors in Emese’s mood project !
Great yarn haul! As soon as I saw Craig's video on the smocking stitch, I knew I had to make a cowl with that pattern. I made mine with a 2 wt yarn and 5mm hook. Loved the mood board KAL. Hi Stacy - I actually asked the same thing about making this in the round and Craig gave me some suggestions.
Vine shawl-FABULOUS❤❤❤
Wonderful shawl and WIPs. Great idea for your Nature's Walk blanket. Mine were not as big however I sure did sweat it out under them when connecting the rows + columns plus adding borders. Enjoy your purple yarn sweater adventure!
Hi Valerie - I love that the Nature's Walk was a pattern I could do a the smaller motifs while on lunch at work.
Hi Gary! Beautiful makes as always😊I love that Octopii yarn..just a stunning color!🔥I think it would be great in a ‘Flax Sweater’ by Tin Can Knits! Congrats to the winners!🥳
Hi Lori - I've been wondering about the Flax sweater pattern for a while now. That's a really great suggestion - thanks!
The Mosaic Vine Shawl is gorgeous. I love the hat, too. I wish I can knit as well as you. Right now I’m knitting a fair isle scarf using Lion Brand fair isle yarn. It’s a simple knit and purl scarf.🥰
Hi Joyce - I'm sure your knit work is stunning and the fair isle scarf sounds wonderful.
Congrats to winners. Your vine shawl is a work of art!! Beautiful WIPS and finished items. The Oceana yarn is gorgeous!

Thanks so much Joanne!
Hi Ginger - I loved watching that documentary!
Love the mosaic vines shawl - the colors and the pattern. Wishing you and Chad a very Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you too!
Hi guys and Pixel you all look great ❤❤
Wow! Beautiful but you are right!!! Very time consuming
as always Gary you"re work is amazing and your color combinations are inspiring
I appreciate you saying that, it means a lot!
Good morning! Up and knitting! It’s the season!
I love hats at portable projects. That one is super nice too.
Oooo a gorgeous tree!!!😊
Fabulous Christmas pictures 😊
Gary, thank you for sharing the ribbed hat pattern. I do not use double point needles for anything; I use magic loop method. I learned how to avoid laddering where the two needles separate the project by pulling the first two stitches a bit tighter than the usual tension
I still have to learn that tension technique so I can have magic loop as an option.
@ it took a lot of practice to get the hang of it
Hi Gary! That beautiful yarn would make a nice slip over with a turtle neck. Cheers!
I agree, I think a turtleneck would look lovely in that yarn.
That octopi yarn is gorgeous.

Hi Gary, such beautiful makes, as usual. 😂❤

Gary, I am so sad the postal service is on strike, I tried to mail your holiday package:)
Wow, your vine shawl! Congratulations winners!

Gaaarrrryyyyy!! Happy Holidays sugar.
Happy Holidays to you too!
Beautiful gray shawl 😊
Thank you for the kind comment!

Love everything
Hello Laura - I heard you were under the weather - sending you well wishes and fun dreams of orange yarn!
The Servant shawl is exquisite, especially the color! A work of art! Btw have you ever given a “5” for softness? Cashmere/silk???
Thanks Andrealouis - I have given 5 out of 5 for softness a few times. If you watch the video where I got some happy mail from Crystal earlier this year - I think I gave out many 5's. Before that time I also had a few 5's with some alpaca and mohair.

Hello there - Pixel is allowed in the yarn room only when I'm in there with her. Lucky for me she's not interested in yarn.
Pinning a project to a sheet is a fabulous idea! I'm definitely trying that. What kind of pins did you use?
Hello there - I used safety pins (the ones that you can close)
l have craigs pattern in my etsy bag..think it will be a 2025 make
Hi Gary! I thought I read that Hobbii is discontinuing their dolce cashmere. Is there a yarn with similar feel your can recommend? 🧶
I'm not sure about the Dolce Cashmere being discontinued - I hope not.
I'd look on Yarn Substitute website to seek out a like yarn.
