One thing about 95: it actually doesn't hit Boston. It was originally designed to, but highway revolts stopped it. Instead it's diverted into a ring road around the city, running concurrently with 128. The corridor that was already cleared for it in the southwest was turned into a rail corridor, and now serves the Orange Line, commuter rail, and Amtrak.

Interstate 287 was supposed to be extended to Long Island via the Long Island Sound bridge, but protests and environmental concerns caused the proposal to be canceled. This is why NY 135 connects with only Interstate 495. NY 135 should be rebranded as Interstate 995 or be demolished entirely.

You can go into Downtown Boston by switch from I-95 to I-93, that for this piece is EAST of I-95 "breaking" the normal numbering rule, which then crosses I-95 (putting it to its proper west) and then going on north to the interior of New Hampshire.

Excellent video! I didn't read all the comments so not sure it was mentioned but the story of I-95's missing link around Philly is a fascinating one. The whole story could fill a book but interstate highway geeks like some of your viewers and me likely know the basics. I lived there for 36 years and, until just 4 years ago I-95 did not go all the way from Maine to Florida. Because NJ chose not to build their portion of 95, it was rerouted onto the northern portion of the NJ Tpke, leaving a gap between PA and NJ around Trenton. When the connection from 95 to the PA Tpke was finally (albeit partially) completed in 2018 (which wasn't originally built because of the Interstate's original prohibition on connecting a free road with a toll road), I-95 was finally continuous up and down the East Coast.

1:30 476 "the Blue Route" was originally meant to run from I-95 in Chester PA, and for years it terminated with ramps to Chemical Rd in Plymouth Township (Plymouth Meeting) in Montgomery County. Later, 476 was tied into the PA Turnpike via a new interchange labeled the Mid-County Interchange. This replaced the original interchange with the Northeast Extension (PA route 9). So when that opened, the 476 designation was extended all the way up the Northeast Extension of the Turnpike. That's how 476 attained its final length.

Interstate 94 doesn't actually end in Detroit you might be thinking of Interstate 96 (which *does* end in Detroit)... it continues NE for another 45 miles or so to Port Huron, joining up with Interstate 69 just west of the city, before ending at the Blue Water Bridge pair, where they become Ontario Highway 402 after crossing the border...
Interstate 40 might be getting longer in the medium- to long-range future because CalTrans has been wanting to extend it west to I-5 at Bakersfield (by upgrading California Highway 58) for a good while now, but there's no official timetable for this, and funds are hard to come by and not allocated..

1). I-476 for 131 miles between Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Scranton Pennsylvania.
2). I-495 for 120 miles to bypass Boston Massachusetts.
3). Future I-569 for 95 miles (Western Kentucky Parkway) between the junction of I-69 & I-169 near Nortonville to I-65 in Elizabethtown Kentucky.

I can say that the problem with Interstate congestion in Louisiana cities (especially Baton Rouge and Lake Charles) is that the politicians want to argue where to put new bridges and what sort they will be for at least 40 years before any dirt flies. VA born n’ raised, since I’ve been driving (only 23 years of age) I’ve driven on I95, I64, I75, I10, I40, I24, and I65. Of all these my favorite is I95 but heading southbound only because when I was kid and even now I always enjoy visiting the FL, seeing “South of the border”,seeing the palmettos as I get further south and the rural lowlands, the state welcome signs, and just going further south during the winter season to enjoy the mild winters. Who knows my opinion could change overtime, I will say I don’t like I95 going North bound towards DC/NOVA and further north. As of now I live in SE VA and use I64 to commute to work north and south bound.

It travels through Phoenix and Tucson, then into New Mexico, then southeast to El Paso, TX. From there, of course, on eastward to Florida.
