You’re the one that encouraged me to repair vacuums thank you your videos are awesome
Have one of these. Thanks to you, now I know it would take a massive effort for me to repair the cord winding system. And I shall say I learnt never to underestimate technicians and repairmen. Thanks again.
I love the way its designed. I wish Bosch could come back in the america market.
They still do make some compelling canister cleaners. but to be honest they are not really special
So, my cord wouldn't retract, so I found this video. Turns out, two of the three tabs on the reel were broken (abuse). I took the reel apart (mostly). The spring mechanism was also cracked. I couldn't fix it, but found this video helpful and inspiring. TY
Thanks for the video! It helped me opening our vacuum cleaner to fix a stuck cable roll.
However, even though I knew from your tear down I still broke the cover over the potentiometer. It just does not seem to be made for repairing. I put it back on with some glue.
Keep it going and best regards!
Bertram
I love using my dishwasher to clean all kinds of things like glass light fixture covers, grill covers, basically anything plastic, ceramic or glass can go in there as long as there are no chemicals like paint residue that would harm the dishwasher. I just make sure I keep the heat dry off.
i just picked up one of these for $40 and it has the telescoping electric wand. It is a little dusty but everything works and its very quiet.
Nice ! Unfortunately we can't get any parts for it anymore. So be nice to it. Thanks for watching
I bought a used one based on reviews that the motor is very quiet but I was disappointed. I was going to open it up to see if there is a way to clean the motor or even replace it but after watching your video and hear how noisy yours is, and you did not do anything regarding the motor, I guess I will just live with it. Thanks for the video in any case.
You find a Miele with a SEB228 something to consider next. But if you want to really go all out quiet have a central vacuum installed
Hello Sir, enjoyed watching your video. Question for you (AND everyone else reading this): in your experience, what is a quality made small canister vac to purchase? It can be an old one that is no longer made and I will search for it. I currently have a Bosch canister vac (Bosch VBBS550N00) and it seems like the variable speed switch needs to be replaced. Before doing so, I'm wondering if I should put my money/time towards a better quality vac, if such exists.
These are such cool interesting machines! To bad Bosch doesn't sell vacuum cleaners here in the USA anymore. Fascinating what can change!
This kind of model is used a lot in The Netherlands. Bosch is a well known brand that stands for quality. Often identical to a Siemens model. This shape of vacuums are sell a lot here. Philips, Bosch and Miele are the top brands here.
Hi - I have had this Bosch for 15 years and loved it - recently my power head stopped working - any hints for how I can get it going again?
Interesting vacuum
Very nice machine, I had seen one on another UA-cam channel and last week I was house sitting and looking around on CL and FB Marketplace and saw one of these for $40 and I am kicking myself for not trying to get it. I was on the prowl for Miele and Sebo machines.
Hey nice video and very helpful for me to repair my Bosch formula. How did you manage to get the filters around the engine so clean? Mine are very black and they are also not available as a sparepart. Thanks and keep up the good work
You can find parts on eBay
@@PerformanceReviews what exact terms did you use for your search? I tried to search for engine filters but I only got the one filter after the bag not the ones around the engine
Do you have the link to find the same brush?
That is a weird machine. Never knew they made residential machines
Are you tossing the attachments into the dishwasher too?
Any chance you will be reviewing the Makita 36V XCV19 upright?
I absolutely hated my Formula. It was a straight suction machine which I favor but it had friction fit wands that always stuck together, it always tilted back on its butt whenever I wanted to turn it around, it’s only attachment other than the floor nozzle was a cheaply made upholstery tool and as soon as they stopped importing the brand they stopped supplying original branded bags so I replaced it with a much better Electrolux EL6986 that I still have but retired and replaced with an even better Miele Pure suction based on an S2 design.
I hate Bosch’s customer service. I was respectful when I asked them how they could cut off the supply of replacement bags immediately after pulling their products from the market and they hung up on me. They were just as snotty once before when I called their customer service number about their leaky spark plugs. That’s a term for spark plugs that leak electricity out of the sides.
Correction. My Miele Pue Suction is based on the C2/S4 design
Wow I was unaware of the customer service they had. Thanks for sharing your story. Part a got cut off due to "Star for parts " being purchased by a Eassco. Star was the sole distributor. How ever now that Amazon and eBay are more of a thing bags and filters are still pretty widely available.
Basic straight suction machine completely different model opens from the back I’ll share on discord
an instructional video takes more that switching the camera on and start to work.
Hardly designed vacuum. I know it by the same construction - Bosch Ergomaxx series (220v).
My boss has the same motor
