This was the most frightening experience I had when I first played the game. The ambience, the soundtrack, Bogmire's minions and the sounds they made. Idk, it just scared the hell out of me when I was a child
What's even creepier is what it actually implies. It means that every time Bogmire manifests himself onto the physical plane of existence, he creates the perfect conditions for a lightning strike. Forget making Shadow clones of yourself, this entity could destroy an entire area just by popping in and out of the fabric of reality.
Nintendo's Gamecube games are absolutely legendary. This game certainly is one of 'em and I hope that one day it gets the remake treatment Thousand-Year Door got.
Man I love this boss. It’s such a genuinely cool idea for a boss that is both interesting and kinda scary. It’s a shame they didn’t do more with him because this guy probably could’ve been one of the best Mario villains. Maybe in Luigi’s Mansion 4 it’ll be revealed that the Bogmire Luigi catches here was just a shadow for the REAL Bogmire
He's an ancient being made of pure sorrow and dread. He doesn't remember who he once was, but he is sad over everything that once was. He's just gravitating toward the area that makes him feel so blue.
I really miss this game. I am glad they made sequels, but I don't really feel like they have been able to capture the spooky atmosphere as well as the OG Luigi's Mansion. I think they intentionally toned it down, because they were afraid it was too creepy for kids, but dude I was like 5 when I played this and I freaking loved the spooky atmosphere. It was one of my favorite games growing up. I wasn't a huge fan of Luigi's Mansion 3 (I still did like it though) because I really detest the "satisfying slam." It isn't satisfying it just took the basic game mechanics that made Luigi's Mansion good and dumbed it down to something that gets old very quickly. It was fun for like the first hour of playing it and then I just really missed the old combat system. I really hope whenever they make a Luigi's Mansion 4, they ditch the stupid slam and go back to making the game as spooky as the OG Luigi's Mansion. The piss poor lighting, the freaky ghost noises, the portrait ghosts, the creepy pause screen, Madame Clairvoya, Luigi's shadow hanging from a noose, decapitation, the fantastic creepy music, and the OG combat system all need to come back in the next Luigi's Mansion, and I will be very happy.
Luigi's Mansion 1 was made for what a kid actually is and because of that it's still just as easy to love as an adult, the sequels were made for that lollipop-licking spinny hat stereotype of what a kid is
I'm pretty sure that this boss is the same (or they took inspiration) on super Mario galaxy, the one made by rock where you have to grab those little dark ghost by their tongue and throw them on the boss
I think the reason people found Bogmire scary because he's so out-of-place compared to the other ghosts. The other ghosts at least references they were once humans (though in Chauncey's case he was always a ghost) or animals but what the heck is Bogmire? Doesn't help he is fought in the graveyard.
@RaichuRulers i know that but something being a manifestation of the despair and dread of the mansion should be stronger than this i mean who knows maybe the despair of the people that died and became ghosts is fueling Bogmire's existence and perhaps the dread of Luigi or anyone that has been there which should make Bogmire super powerful.

Pretty much the most scariest thing a kid can experience when playing this game
I love how there's a thunderclap every time Bogmire appears. Creepy...
Now I really want somebody to replace that with the Vine Boom sound effect.

Fun fact: bogmire is literally the embodiment of fear in this game
Bogmire's battle theme is epic
sasa3298 yeah
No wonder I have nightmares about that "thing" as a child 🍼

decade later, and I still think you're great at this.

this one was so freaky when i was younger because he looked creepy
Is it just me, or does Bogmire look like a ghost possessing a tombstone?

Close your eyes and watch the video again. You can actually hear where Bogmire is!
That's some really cool attention to detail
love his music!! best in the game!
A lot of people think elh became this guy, I don't think he became bogmire but after elh was deemed to scary for the game he was replaced with bogmire
Remember this scaring the shit out of me as a kid
SAME BRO i thought i was the only one who thought that

They say that Bogmire is the manifestation of the mansion's fear and despair.
This boss is scary to me.
how is this person so good
It's body is possibly made out of Goo or slime for sure.
Bogmire is like:Who dares disturb my sleep?! You,green cap guy, time for your punishment that you disturb my sleep!!!
My God this boss gohst is ridiculously hard I have really bad luck with him
I’m Glenn bogmire
Bogmire kinda looks like a witch's hat! Yeah. The house sorting hat from Harry Potter's evil twin brother!
0:31 nope
you know whats scary it could've been like a zombie ghost that would be creepy
*the E is a deadly laser.. not anymore, it's a l a s E r*
*smash bros characters get swallowed by the world of light*
Is it just us, or does he look like a Pink Sorting Hat from Harry Potter?
What even IS Bogmire?
The manifestation of the fear and despair in the mansion
I don’t know, I was just scared of him as a small kid.
@@gabrielcaro I got scared when I played the 3DS version.
0:11 WHO DARES DISTURB MY NAP!!! 😡
So uhh... what is he the ghost of a ghost???
It's unknown where exactly he came from. All we know is that he's one of the most dangerous ghosts in the game.
He's supposed to be a embodiment of the mansions or King Boos evil magic.
The manifestation of fear and despair :)
Gorr the God Butcher has the same powers
...But kinda easy...

He isn't sure what to be afraid of these days
@RaichuRulers Then why is Bogmire not a final boss?
@RaichuRulers i know that but something being a manifestation of the despair and dread of the mansion should be stronger than this i mean who knows maybe the despair of the people that died and became ghosts is fueling Bogmire's existence and perhaps the dread of Luigi or anyone that has been there which should make Bogmire super powerful.
