Very cool! I'm curious, did it come with any sort of weather/rain-proof cover for the sides? Or do you recall if any such accessories were available for purchase separately?
Thanks! Sorry for the late reply. I think there were only a handful of options when I ordered it a few years ago. I got the seat belts and the USB plugs but don't recall what the other options were however side covers was not one of them. I have thought about making my own side covers for rainy and cold weather riding which don't think would be too difficult to do.
Hello...I dug out the paperwork and didn't see a specific model other than description of goods which they had listed as "Pedelec Electric Tricycle". Zhengzhou Merck Import & Export Trading Co. was the company I decided to contact from around maybe 5 companies that I recall seeing on Ailibaba that sold this type of trike about 3 years ago.
@@roadtrips5973 May i ask how easy or difficult it was to get it shipped to you in the states? Was the shipping expensive and were there any extended wait times to get it?
Thanks for posting this, it's very helpful as I contemplate getting one of these velotaxis from China. Can I ask how it has held up since you received it? Anything breaking prematurely? Are you still getting good use out of it? Any tips for avoiding unnecessarily high customs fees when importing?
I haven't put many miles on it, in fact probably less than 20 miles total as it's sat in the garage for about 3 years now. So I really can't give you an honest assessment of how it holds up with regular usage. I do charge the batteries every couple of months and put air in the tires before taking it out for a spin bout twice a year and it still feels new, maybe just a tad bit loss of power due to the age of the batteries now. The trike itself feels very solid as i believe these are made for commercial use. As far as customs my gut feeling at the time was that they held the trike on purpose to up the fees claiming that if anything else in the container the trike was shipped with gets held up for extended inspection then everything in that particular container suffers the same added fees due to longer holding times. They never did tell me what was held up for more intensive inspection within the container or possibly multiple items, however I understood it was possible that my trike was one since the battery compartment could have been an area for drugs lol. The trike was shipped in a metal frame with wrapped wiring and bubble wrap. Still, several weeks of delay seemed excessive. The only thing I can think of to offset the fees for anything imported is probably ordering in bulk whenever possible.
Great, thanks again for this info; it's hard to get any info on these in North America. I'm especially glad to hear that it seems solid. So, any chance you're looking to sell this thing since you use it so rarely? :)
I've flip flopped a few times over the past 2 years on selling it but just haven't been able to pull the trigger yet as I consider it my "baby" still lol. It just has too much collector's value to me right now to part with it i'm sorry to say.
Would you say it would be better to pay a higher amount for one already in the states as opposed to ordering one from china and have to deal with the customs drama?
Yes, I purchased it thru Alibaba. The trike and a few extra wheels came out to be about $2500 but add shipping and customs the final total was just under $5000. Customs held it for about 1 month longer than I had expected.
СУПЕР ДЛЯ ПРОГУЛКИ ПО ПАРКУ 👍👍👍
I just bought 3 last year and I’m about to put them to work NOW
Please do. We need more of them on the street.
Hey! Did you buy one through Alibaba? And if how did it work well and what was the price?

Too bad there isn't a floor for the driver. What good is a rain cover when the poor weather will soak your feet? Splashes from puddles are no fun.
Small
But complete and cheap
