This scene where he arranges for a lady at a store to help her is certainly a memorable one, as is the one near the end of the movie when the manager talks to Vivian and tells her to please stop in from time to time, then arranges a limo to take her home.
The hotel manager knew exactly how to manage a situation that could have quickly escalated into a very ugly scene. "I trust you have no other "uncles" here at the hotel" -- says it all. And yet he made the compassionate phone call to help Vivien out - with a friend who could outfit her with a dress so she could enjoy an evening like no other. There are truly good people in this world ... very low key style and exuding class.
It is not quite so wonderful. He helped out Edward Lewis' guest so that Edward would not become angry. But, the manager did help her out and handled everything with dignity and understanding.

If you don't choose her for the team, that's fine, but you should at least thank the kids for coming out and send an e-mail letting them know they were not chosen. Short time thereafter they played in a tournament for some horrible reason only 9 girls showed up. The coach was NOT happy. I don't blame him. The experienced catcher wasn't there so she was it! They came back from 8 runs down to beat an amazing team in the semi-finals - she caught a throw from the outfield in sudden death overtime and tackled the girl in front of the plate to save the day! They went on immediately after the over time semi-final game to play the team that "didn't choose her and treated her badly." They beat them by one run and she played amazingly! Caught a foul ball by the fence, diving catch! The coaches of the other team all made positive comments. I said the Pretty Woman line, ha ha ha! His role as the expectant father stuck with Archie Bunker in an elevator was the first time I saw him and been a fan ever since.
The reason why 'How on earth did Julia be so beautiful in this movie' 1. She's beautiful 2. She's not just deliver lines, she have character... she exudes the persona like it supposed to be. Neither that she just stand there à la mannequin 2. The production do make up test, wardrobe test, hair test, eyebrow test, hemline test, hat test, lipstick test, shoe test, color test, earring test ...and whatnot. That's the production should be doing beforehand... they know what they're doing and when all things fell perfectly on its place, you have this movie.

What a man. Honestly when he phones up the women’s clothing I got a tear in my eye
ELIZONDO is in my favorite scene from the movie when him and RICHARD GERE are looking at the necklace and he says "must be hard to let something so beautiful go" and GERE'S character understands the double meaning
"Don't play with me young lady".......felt that and started cleaning my room.🤣
The whole movie is wonderful, but this is one of my favorite scenes!
My favourite movie of all time. I watch it once every year and It still makes me day dream.♥️🤗
I loved how kind he was in this movie!
Great movie 🍿, Julia pulled it off beautifully. Fell in love with her from day 1.
This was one of my favorite movies.
A tady děkujeme za tak krásnou Ženu co má smisl pro lásku humor a pochopení i přesto všechno trápení co jí potkalo ✌️😊😜💖
A true measure of a gentleman is what he does for people who can do nothing in return when no one is looking
I remember my grandmother scrubbing her front step everyday. I must clean and sweep up . The days truly were filled with pride, morals and family values
This was a very good movie for its time!
Hector Elizondo is just an underrated yet great actor. I've seen him in serious, funny and touching roles and he's done them all equally well and he's done it on stage, TV and film.
His role as the expectant father stuck with Archie Bunker in an elevator was the first time I saw him and been a fan ever since.
Isn't she a dream come true...The movie just had to end this way! Precious!! My fav Movie.. 6.2020.
The reason why 'How on earth did Julia be so beautiful in this movie'
1. She's beautiful
2. She's not just deliver lines, she have character... she exudes the persona like it supposed to be. Neither that she just stand there à la mannequin
2. The production do make up test, wardrobe test, hair test, eyebrow test, hemline test, hat test, lipstick test, shoe test, color test, earring test ...and whatnot. That's the production should be doing beforehand... they know what they're doing and when all things fell perfectly on its place, you have this movie.
I could watch this over and over❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This movie has some extremely good acting.
I have the DVD and play it over and over. Brilliant dialogues and superb acting by all.
