Hi Phil! I missed the live stream as we were out at a children’s party. Great to be able to watch later though and I look forward to having a dram with you. I passed your details onto my friend at Lammermoor Dunedin.
Your collection looks amazing and I’m fortunate enough to have tried, and own, a couple of those. I have almost finished my first bottle of Johnnie Blue which was my first premium Whisky after only really drinking Jameson for the past couple of decades. But as mentioned before, since I found Lagavulin 16 I have finished 1.5 bottles and already have a 3rd ready in the cabinet. Lagavulin 16 is my #1 Whisky and now I’d like to try the 8, 9 (Game of Thrones), 10 and Distillers Editions 🤣
When you visit Wellington I’d like to share the Lammermoor NZ Whiskey with you, as well as the New Zealand Whiskey Collection DoubleWood 18 year that I have - very limited and very sweet. But then I would also like to share the Ardbeg Uigeadail with you. That’s a real gem of a Whisky, and I’m also enjoying Talisker 10 while I’m keen to get the 18 as well now. I tried the Kilkerran 12 last weekend at a Whisky Bar in Wellington and really enjoyed it, along with a Bowmore 12.
Wishing you all the best with your home renovations as that can be a lot of stress, but maybe a great excuse to have another dram at the end of the day 🥃🤣👍🏼
Hey Phil if you end up in the Banff/Jasper area someday make sure you stop by One18Empire in Calgary. Right by the Calgary Tower. And maybe I'll join you.

Personally not 100% sold with the Glenallachie 12 I had. Seemed that the sherry cask was doing it’s best to mask a so-so distillate. I’m sure over time they’ll be very good - lots of good reviews for the 10yr cask strength batch 10. Not tried yet.
Love Bunna 12… the 2022 cask strength is on my wish-list, may have missed that but be very interested to see what the ‘23 is like.
Agreed with PC10 - think it’s my favourite whisky ever. But there could be a contender around the corner…

Youch, really wanting to try a 21 or even an 18 but they are all ridiculously priced where I'm at. Ontario, Canada. Glenfarclas 21 is $182 CAD. $143 USD. Think that's $200 In New Zealand? Not sure what it's going for there. Don't mean to miss the live streams but the timing hasn't worked out quite yet. 😃
Try and see if you can get your hands on a Caol Ila 25. Generally a reasonably priced older bottle.

I used to drink a lot of Glenkinchie - I started my single malt journey (‘95) with Laphroaig (typical choice in pubs was Lapha or Macallan) but after a while I would look for smoother drinks. Towards the end of the ‘90s Glenkinchie, Talisker and Oban (another favourite when I could find it in pubs) started appearing in more pubs & bars. Now I find Glenkinchie a bit bland - smooth, but not very complex.

I started drinking the Aberlour 12 after I bought myself an Abunadh in 2014… couldn’t afford to keep restocking on that monster, so settled for the regular 12 after that. Has (historically for me) been a dependable dram… only problem I find now is that it doesn’t compete with integrity malts at 46%.
Glenfarclas is another I’ve enjoyed in the past. I think the bottle image doesn’t do them any favours. If they did a rebrand and started bottling at 46% I’d be back onboard.

Interesting. On my end it says the replay is still processing. So maybe if you come back and watch it in a few hours, it might be okay. Seems to be playing back fine for me though, or were you talking about when it was actually live?
@@FirstPhilWhisky kinda both, had a buffering issue when you were live on the first one, then om playback too and now on this one again. I'll check the video later and let you know it's working now now.
