Sometimes I think the Israeli government and army knew about the upcoming attack and did nothing so they could use it to galvanize support of the extermination of the Palestinians.
There's no doubt that Hamas is despicable.... They are definitely using their own as shields...
But now the mothers of the Israeli dead are crying on one side and the mothers of Palestinian dead are crying on the other and more hate is born. It is so hard to see an end.

@@Smethells2023 Settlements are on the West Bank. They have nothing to do with Gaza, but nice try. Israel left Gaza in 2005, forcing many Israeli Jews to give up their homes and businesses. They left tons of infrastructure for the people of Gaza. Instead of building a city, they tore out the water pipes to use as bombs. They have never stopped attacking Israel. Go look up how many bombs and terrorists they send in each year? This is why Egypt, a Muslim country, will not allow anyone from Gaza to cross their very well-protected border.

Regardless of your stance, this war has certainly brought out the worst of humanity in all of us. The good people of both Palestine and Israel have my deepest sympathies being stuck in between horrible leadership from both Hamas and Netanyahu’s cabinet.

I forced myself to watch the videos. It was so difficult but I think it is important to honor the victims and to make sure we never, ever forget. I'm not Jewish or religious but this has changed me forever. I look at the anti-Jewish sentiment by some entitled college kids and feel nothing but disgust.

This was a terrible event, but six months of violence and tens of thousands of civilian deaths are not a proportionate or "defensive" response. No one is helped by the current state of affairs, neither the Palestinians nor the hostages(several of whom the I"D"F admitted to killing because they couldn't tell the difference between a surrendering hostage and a combatant, apparently). Israel needs to get over itself and agree to a ceasefire. Endless war helps no one, and if these young people's suffering moves you where the deaths of thousands of children doesn't, then you need to trace you steps and figure out where you dropped your conscience.
Cindy McCain has stated that northern Gaza is now in full famine. I never imagined living in this world:-(

So if anything it’s likely an undercount because no telling how many bodies are beneath all the rubble or were killed an unaccounted for. Hence by the end of this it will likely be a lot higher than 30k
