In my opinion each member is strong on their own but put them together and you've got the best acapella group in the world. My name is Cheryl and I am a pentaholic LOL. Welcome to the PTX rabbit hole my friend.
Great reaction! This is one of their original songs (Kirstie wrote it) from their new original album which came out in February 2021. PTX has been around for 10 years, won 3 Grammy Awards, released a documentary, travelled the world with their live shows, their first original album topped Billboard 100 in 2015. They are the only a cappella band in the world which easily fills up huge (12-14, 000 capacity) arenas. Their talent, hard work and unproblematic personalities attract people of all ages to them. Check out their originals: 'Coffee in Bed', 'Be My Eyes', 'Sing' :-)
Your face shows how much you enjoy them. Just pure joy in your smile. I will recommend Love Again continuously until you react to it haha. You won't regret it!
It's an original. All their originals are great. Try another original next, like Coffee in bed, Run to you, A little space. Hard to pick, I like them all
A vocal coach reactor early in his series of PTX reviews noted that these performers know how to get out of each other's way. I've noticed they switch from backup to lead to lead harmony seamlessly. Doesn't matter the song -- that's the PTX treatment and shows their immense talent. You could pick apart a song and concentrate on one voice at a time, and it's incredible... and even more mind blowing when you listen to them together.
Probably the same video, a vocal coach reacting, noticed that when Kirstie sings loud, nobody backs off, she just overpowers. Scott and her have such amazing voices (too.)
For some more Kirstie leads check out Rather Be, Water (written by her)live Popspring concert, Shallow, Say Something, and/or Seasons of Love live from the Capitol 4th they just did this month! You won't regret any of them! Your face was great on this-it made me smile the whole time!
Great reaction! So this is an original by them off off their most recent album. If you would like to hear Kirstin blow you away, check out their July 4th performance of “Seasons of Love”. She also does an amazing job on their cover of “Rather Be”, which I highly recommend as well.
This is from new their all-originals album The Lucky Ones, but this is obviously a different version that was recorded "live-in-the-studio" for one of the TV talks shows during the pandemic. The version that appeared on the show just had the five of them standing side-by-side singing, but was re-edited for this official video with them popping in and out. The album version is a slightly fuller arrangement. Kirstie was actually the primary songwriter on this one (she wrote or co-wrote more than half of the songs on the album, really further pushing herself more into the forefront this time around), but she gave the entire group a chance to shine on this one. All of Kirstie's songs on the album have very personal lyrics...another way she put herself out there more. Some of these lyrics on her songs are very emotional and were therapeutic for her. The songs on her solo album from a few years back were similar.
PTX was fantastic way back when they first came on the scene in the Sing Off TV competition. They grew themselves through their youtube channel when their short lived record label didn't have the confidence in the group that millions of fans did! So we Pentaholics grew too with every new video and their natural, stunning talent, technique, skill level increased and expanded like never ending branches of a tree. They paved the way for new acapella groups when the genre was truly dead in the music industry. They had the strength, determination and belief in themselves to keep going when Avi had to make a very difficult choice. They made all those amazing videos during the pandemic lock down from their separate homes, pieced them together like a loving patchwork quilt because the music in them never stops. PTX kept themselves moving forward and all of us as well and definitely brightened a very dark and frustrating time we endured together all around the world. How can they just keep getting better? MORE accomplished? It amazes me. Pentatonix is magic! Their most recent video Seasons of Love absolutely blew me away with Kirstie front and center. Try Sing, Coffee in Bed, Shallow, Havana, Imagine, Amazing Grace, Radioactive, every wonderful Christmas album, a very special and creative treat is The Wizard of Aaahs. Thank god, the list is endless; there can never be too many songs from this group. I always crave more and love your reactions! ❤🤍💙
Kirstie co wrote this song. Also on their newest album she co wrote Be My Eyes and sings the lead on that, and Exit Sign, A little Space and It's different Now. You should also look for a song she wrote on a previous album called Water. She has an album of her own solo work under the name Kirstin, the album is called LOVE. It's all music she wrote and performed. Look for her videos for Break A Little, Naked and Bad Weather. Another good PTX cover she took the lead on is Rather Be. If you want to hear her sing in Japanese look for PTX's Perfume Medley and if you want to hear her sing Disney look for the Voctave's Disney Love Medley (feat. Kirstin Maldonado & Jeremy Michael Lewis).
Thank you for reacting to this Pentatonix original. Kirstin was a co-writer on this song. The song is from their latest album "The Lucky Ones" which was released 2-12-21. The whole album is great and it would sound great on your Spotify. I'm enjoying your Pentatonix journey. Subscribed.
You said you wished you have heard of them sooner.... Just start listening to their stuff now. You will love everything they do. Their covers are better than the originals, their originals are terrific. You have a lot to catch up on!!!!! You reacted to this song on Mitch's birthday!!!!!
💯 A PENTATONIX original!! Definitely check out more of their OG stuff!! I'm here for your PTX reactions!! 👋RECOMMEND these originals... Love Again Happy Now Can't Sleep Love Coffee In Bed That's Christmas To Me Be My Eyes Cracked (Live @ You Tube) The Lucky Ones Misbehavin (Live @ You Tube) Thank You Standing By (LIVE) ..... J, The group Home Free was originally formed in 2000 by Chris Rupp in Mankato, Minnesota, when some of its members were still in their teens.[4] (wikipedia). PTX formed in 2011. I agree that PTX popularity on YT made it easier for other acts to use the platform too.
I actually have heard it before after talking to a couple friends and telling them to check it out one of them stated that they already knew about them and this song was on their playlist and it played at their party which then they tried to make me remember and I was like not really but that could be why it sounded familiar lol If I would have only listened to it then I would have had it on my playlist sooner
Love you reactions. If I had to suggest any pentatonix songs. That would be hard to do. However any of the Christmas ones especially carol of the bells, dance of the sugar plum fairy, white winter hymnal, silent night etc the list could go on and on. I’m just happy to see your reactions. Can’t wait for the next one. Take care welcome to the rabbit hole.
This song is actually an original that they wrote. You really need to watch "Be my eyes" it's another original that Kirstin co wrote and she sings the lead. And "coffee in Bed" another original that Scott and Mitch's wrote and they sing the lead. You will love both of them
funny story it sounded familiar because my friend uses their music as background music at a party they had (I only know this because I was talking about this group and I just found out about it) I felt dumb when they said yeah it was playing then.... so it sounded familiar bc I heard it but wasn't paying attention lol
This is one of my favs from their new original album. Today is Mitch’s birthday and my other fav is NEVER GONNA CRY AGAIN where Mitch is the lead. Thanks for the reaction cause I love me some PTX💕
Loved that!!!! I'm kinda like you..it seems that each new one is a fav. This is one of their originals from the latest ep. Well done! If you haven't done "Happy Now" great feel good song!!(added: thank you for your service) Hi Dog!!!!
Scott has a podcast with Rossi called Ugh, you're so good. Their first guest this season was Kirstin. She did a two part interview and Scott asks her about Broadway, growing in confidence and mentions how much of the new original album she wrote. Really interesting.
I just discovered them recently as well - so I'm totally with you wishing I did that sooner 😉 It feels like so many years wasted by not listening to those guys... As someone mentioned in previous comments, it's a song from their new album, which is all originals. I'm not sure if someone already suggested it or not, but you should check Happy Now (from the same album) 🙂 P.S. Great reactions! ❤️
Might I suggest you check out some of their very early songs to see the, not improvement, but maturity of the band over the last 10 years. The trio were only 19 or 20 when they posted their first videos. Kevin and Avi were 22 or 23. I have heard that it was her time on Broadway in "Kinky Boots" that boosted Kirstin to find her leading voice. Also could you please think about reacting to Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) video of 'Defying Gravity' from "Wicked"
If you liked hearing Kirstin's lead in this song, wait till you hear this one.....ua-cam.com/video/qO01TIVX3SM/v-deo.html. "Seasons of Love' they sang on TV for the Capitol 4th performance on PBS this year.

If you enjoyed this video, I hope you’ll consider liking/commenting/subscribing. It all helps me more than you know. ♥
Another song that hi lites Kirstie is their cover of "Favorite Things" from sound of music, she kills it, as usual 😁
Be My Eyes is another epic original song featuring Kirstie
Trying to pick your favorite Pentatonix song is like saying which one of your children you love the most.
In my opinion each member is strong on their own but put them together and you've got the best acapella group in the world. My name is Cheryl and I am a pentaholic LOL. Welcome to the PTX rabbit hole my friend.
Kirstin also does a fantastic job on the song Shallow, with Scott!

Yes give Coffee in Bed a listen!
Another vote for Coffee In Bed! ...and Run To You if you're in the mood for something slower that'll bring out the goosebumps :)
These are awesome and don't forget Love Again...I adore all their originals.
The only thing with "Little Space" is that it is not the whole song, but it is still good. Add a nod to "Love Again"

Accapella was dead in the water until them.

Pentatonix "Break my Heart" is outstanding too my brutha!
I hope more people hear this. If there was no PTX there would have never been a Home free or Voiceplay.

his is one of their best and the group all get to shine both together and in the solos. It is hard to pick favorites with PTX but this is awesome
