Yes, agree. It depends on the cause of the troubles. Job is one example where trouble came but he didn't stray from the Lord. I think Dr. Tour is saying if we stray from the Lord (step 1) then we are at high risk of incoming trouble/chaos. He didn't say that there's only one path for one to experience trouble in life.
It's difficult to create a general lesson that would include the spectrum of our relationship with God. The foundation of Fearing God is essential to every person's faith. James presents the word in that light. Once a person comes to the fear of God he can then gain the understanding of His heart. Paul spoke this to the people of Pisidian Antioch, "Brothers, children of Abraham, and you Gentiles who fear God, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent." I believe it is good for Dr Tour to appeal to the Fear of God to announce the gospel.

All the world now cares about Dr. James Tour because no one has ever seen a Jew justify the existence of the Lord Messiah Jesus. Who is more privileged than James Tour, who was among the chosen people and the holy saints of time to come?
In previous videos, Jim said he’ll only debate Ph.D’s and professors. If that’s so, why not just publish his critiques in peer-reviewed journals? @@AAT_Gospel Paul remained a Jew when challenged throughout the NT. You may reasonably question his sincerity of course, but he never officially left Judaism. Given that Paul was an apocalypticist who expected an imminent end of the world; he probably thought there was no need or time to establish a new theology. I would characterize his epistles as being Judaism shorn of ritual. More importantly, Jesus, his family and all his disciples were born, lived, and died as Jews.
@@ji8044 Every follower of Christ, regardless of being Jew or Gentile (there is no distinction - Galatians 3:28) is/should be an “apocalypticist”- granted some may understand it as a-/pre-/post-millenialism (or some may also believe it as panmillenialism/ (i.e., “it all pans out in the end” a topic for another day on scriptural wisdom and discernment). The final prayer in Revelation tells us to look for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ(Revelation 22:20). I perceive you are Jewish, and I thank God for your people since you gave us the Lord Jesus Christ (Lion of the Tribe of Judah). Through you we as well have the Apostle Paul (the descendant of Benjamin who was so divinely appointed, separated from his mother’s womb to bring this glorious eternal plan of salvation kept before the foundation of the world for all people) through much suffering. I understand from Scripture also that Rachel’s children (Joseph and Benjamin) are types of saviors as well - saving the whole world through Joseph, Saul almost achieving preservation for his people but let Agag live enough to father the Agagite Haman; Saul’s or Kish’s descendants Mordecai and Esther eventually fostered the preservation of their people against this ancient mystery of Agag. I also know of how Rachel is prophesied by the prophet Jeremiah to weep and not be comforted at the Babylonian conquest as well as when Herod killed the babies trying to cast a wide kill net to capture the Messiah. But, I digress… I also thank God for Jews who believe in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ like Dr. Tour does (who really praises God and observe His ways, having been delivered from empty rituals that do not save and are hard to keep). Back to apocalypticism, it is good for you that Christ comes back, as you will see him in glory, He will deliver you from the antichrist and you will then have no doubt concerning Him being God’s suffering servant as described in Isaiah 53. No one needs to “officially” depart from Judaism - Moses never gave a protocol for this, and I don’t even think one of your own - Moses Maimonides ever proscribed a way to relinquish your Jewishness. It is needless to do such a thing - simply put: “By their fruits you shall know them” (Matthew 7:15-20), as a Jew (Romans 2:29) is one who truly praises (Yaddah/Judah) YHWH. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. Peace and blessings on all the people of God.
