Backstory. I listen to secular music sometimes and really like the Afrobeat and Amapiano genres. I’m American for context. Any way I always loved Nigerian accents from listening to the music. Literally a week before I met this counterfeit I said to my best friend that I wish I could meet a man with a Nigerian accent. A week later I go to a new church and a met a man there from Nigeria, and crazy thing was that day was both of our birthdays. I thought it so peculiar that it happened like that. Well 6 months go by and we get each others numbers and immediately he is love bombing me and telling me everything I wanted to hear. Said he would take me to Nigeria and all this stuff. Well turns out he was sent from the enemy and is a worldly Christian. On top of that physically he was everything I like and had a great beard. Man oh man the devil is a liar!! Jesus help us ❤

It's not your job as a potential spouse to "guide" this person to The Most High. Each person must walk with Him before asking for a spouse. If he/she is "checking off your boxes" but doesn't have a solid relationship with The Most High, they are sent from the devil.

You can continue to be his friend, encourage him and pray for him, & continue to seek God’s guidance and clarity on this. My type is not physical appearance 😅 it’s always these “godly” men that the enemy uses to get me. And even though they are godly they have red flags that I can’t overlook. Unfortunately he didn’t lead me back to a life of sin but we just didn’t come from the same denomination and therefore don’t share the same views or understanding spiritually.

I literally just tolerated a real jerk who came around insulting me in every underhanded way rubbing his hands under my chin fat like who does that & be fr. If I missed a nail session & had some growth from an overdue fill in then he would rub across the top of my nails while cuddling. The Bible tells us to guard our heart so it's possible that you didn't somewhere down the line. The Bible also says that the human heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. Keep praying for God to teach you how to guard you heart and protect you from something that is not meant for you. God is not giving you something that will make you fall into idolatry. Remember that you can love someone, give them grace, forgive them but still not agree with their behavior and be wise enough to know that such behaviours are crossing your boundaries and against your standards and choose to discontinue being close to them.

According to Ephesians 1:11God already had a predestined plan for our lives before we were born. According to his plan he worked out everything according to his will. So I would imagine that would cover who we are destined to marry. Where we go wrong is we feel we know what’s best for our lives so we go off and find our own mates and mess up our destiny. 🙏🏾

How much grace should we give during dating phase though?
We should always extend grace as much as we possibly can (The grace that we have received from Christ is far more than we can fathom) but giving someone grace doesn’t mean that you’re going to be unwise and tolerate abuse or anything similar. Remember that you can love someone, give them grace, forgive them but still not agree with their behavior and be wise enough to know that such behaviours are crossing your boundaries and against your standards and choose to discontinue being close to them.
