    Best city in the world , love it , love the people, love the honour , love the integrity, love the way they stand up for themselves against a bombardment of abuse from politicians and so called hierarchy, press putting the place down for years , keeps rising above it all, go there yourself people have a weekend there you will never forget it , fantastic place .

    The radio tower’s (St John’s Beacon) main purpose is quite simple. It houses a chimney to take away the fumes from the boilers in the shopping centre. Due to westerly prevailing winds, and the fact that the city slopes up away from the river bank to the east, the chimney needed to be of sufficient height to protect areas like Kensington and Edge Hill from being affected by noxious gases. The beacon was a clever way of disguising a chimney. And it worked.

    Soo much more you could of seen hun. Just in the area you were in. The catholic cathedral known locally as Paddy’s Wigwam. The Beatles statues museum & cavern walk where the Cavern is. Many other places to. We have huge tourism here . Many taking The Beatles tour of their homes when growing up etc. The museum & Art gallery also pretty amazing buildings. Radio City tower back in the day was a revolving restaurant which I remember going to as a child in the 70s. So much more I could go on but won’t. Loved the video. New to your channel will have a wander through . Best wishes from Lyn in Liverpool 🇬🇧

    Liverpool had the first wet dock in the world built by Thomas Steers- on the site of the pool of Liverpool- time team did a dig there- the ferries are a shadow of their former glory, as a child you could actually go via the Royal Iris to New Brighton 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

      I was born in 1965 and I can't remember the Ferry going to New Brighton, I know that they used to years ago. They stopped going there in 1971 apparently. The ferrys also used to run regular to Seacombe and Woodside, there was always two ferrys running at the same time that I remember. The Royal Iris is moored and partially submerged at her mooring on the River Thames. You can find her on Google maps. A sad sight indeed.

      If you go back to 1927 there were 7 destinations on The Wirral by ferry from Liverpool:
      New Brighton (closed 1971), Egremont (closed 1940), Seacombe, Woodside, New Ferry (closed 1927), Rock Ferry (closed 1939) and Eastham (closed 1929).

      Hi Tom .I hope your jaw is healing and the hospital gets back to you soon. Staint George's Hall is built back to front. The stairs should lead on to the garden's, but we all know the grounds are at the back, not the front. The two cathedrals are at both ends of a street called hope Street, hoping that the two cathedrals can sort out their differences. One cathedral the high alter is the geographical centre of Liverpool.

    You tried, sadly you failed to describe Liverpool. The important things are: The people and their friendly nature; The mass of culture; The foods; The excitement of the nightlife; The pubs and clubs. Also, you only showed the centre of Liverpool. There is much more of it than that, which most people miss. You're not alone in this, as many have produced such videos and also failed. There is far too much in Liverpool to show in a small video. Be well, kid, and have a nice life. 😀

    Ii suggest you do research before starting a channel. Bluecoat is not the oldest building in the town centre. The Town Hall is older.
    You also do not understand the difference between 'a city' and 'City Status'.
    St Luke's is NOT a 'pub' it is a War Memorial and is structurally sound.
    The old Baptist Church referred to as 'The Blackie' is indeed an arts-community centre.
    St Nicholas is the original Liverpool Parish Church.
    Nul pointe.

    • @Azog150
      @Azog150 14 днів тому

      Liverpool was a small town of little note, until at least the 1600's. Then it grew into a very small port mainly serving Ireland, and the odd ship to North America. It wasn't until the 1700's that it grew into a large town/city, and didn't get official city status until the 1800s. So he's not completely wrong at all.
