I love this video because it’s just like how a game goes with my disc buddies. “Why’s it so stable???” “Too much glide… come on maaaannn…” “Yeah….NOTHING like a Firebird.” “Not good man…not good” 😂
Not technically gateway but produced at gateway... was waiting for some Stego throws. Let's not forget Nikko was one of the best players in the world and was throwing a lot of gateway. Wizards for life!..
Video idea: Have different discs from various different companies you guys carry (I think ten manufacturers total) and host a “draft” of the discs for the first part of the video. Nobody can have duplicates & you can only have one brand per mold.
The putter plastic variety is where its at. Love a chalky firm suregrip for sweaty hand rounds, but will bump up the # of S's in cold weather for more flex and grip.
I think Konner deserves a spot in the intro video. He's in as much if not a little more than Brodie. Not hate on Brodie, just showing some love for the Kon man.
I randomly acquired a Gateway Journey. It quickly became my go-to distance driver. Nothing has the combination of glide and distance that the Journey has. I absolutely love it.
Gateway is underrated as a disc manufacturer. The Element and Prophecy are quality mid ranges, there is an endless variety of putters/ approach discs in all manner of plastic and I like several of their drivers. The Apex and Journey are probably the perfect drivers for most average golfers. And you can't forget about the Spirit. One of the most overstable distance drivers around. You can see lots of tourney coverage of Nikko force flexing these over the years.
I think you guys have stumbled on a new revenue stream. I am POSITIVE that all kinds of disc manufacturers would be willing to sponsor you guys......to NOT throw their discs.
Would've loved to see a bit more of an in the bag at the start. Loved the video in general but didn;t feel like we got much plastic/disc recommendation. Perhaps a write up on the website of the takeaways from this vid would be cool.
So I’m newer to disc golf. Tried a few different putters but I’ll say , the super silly soft voodoo is a pretty amazing putter. Obv not something to drive with but putt and approaching, imo it’s hard to beat.
I had no clue if any of the drives were going close to where they wanted them to since we never got a basket zoom in. Also, they played the yellows instead of the reds we normally see from them for this course so I had no idea where the baskets where. Other than that the camera work was passable
The only Gateway disc I’ve ever thrown is a Hyper Diamond Spear that was given to me brand new by my friend and I must say it’s a staple in my bag. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t mind trying out some of their other molds. Obviously everyone talks about the Wizards but my putter slot is set. But that HD Spear in 174g is straight 💰
KONNER you should feel good when they laugh at you! It means they really like you, the purpose of laughing is making situations feel less heavy/sad/frustrating - for them as well as for you. So when they are laughing at you, they never mean to harm you!
Since this video came out Gateway has released 4 really great distance drivers in the G-ONE, SPELL, REALM & ETHER. They have a solid line up now more than ever.
Gateway fans: FINALLY ON FOUNDATION Innova fans: it's basically a destroyer Discmania fans: I can throw my DD3 farther Discraft fans: I putt with Paul McBeth Millennium fans: you're talking to me? Disc golfers: DISC IS DISC
@@randallkornholio2971 I was throwing Millenium Auroras back in the '90s. They had killer grippy plastic and it flew straighter than any mid at the time. Mako3 is pretty close.
I recently switched to putting with super soft Magics and I absolutely love them. They’re not super soft. They’re still rigid but very grippy. Feel great.
It's a shame they didn't have the driving putters (Shaman, Chief, Chief OS) to work with. They are all great both backhand and forehand. Also Gateway makes discs for several companies, so many of their best discontinued molds, protos, and tweaks/retools are with AGL, Storm, Black Zombie, Reptilian, Full Turn, etc.
@@dannybravo8815 If you like Magic check out the Shaman, its the Magic with part of the height taken out and ran flat/low shoulder. Hit's tight lines and is a good touch forehand disc.
I feel y’all didn’t take advantage of the wide variety of gateway discs but rather only used a few of their molds hindering your ability to optimize your game using gateway
Video idea: Trevor vs. Hunter throw from the tee at the same time challenge. You could throw every shot / putt at the same time as well, but that may be too hard to film. If it is, at least film the drives at the same time! One left side of teepad, one right side of teepad, and you can alternate which side each new hole.
Y'all should consider reaching out to some of the companies Gateway manufactures for and try those. AGL Discs, Storm Disc Golf, Black Zombie, to name a few.
Some constructive criticism, if you'll have it: I do not know any of these gateway discs. A visual for their flight numbers and/or the players saying 'these are the flight numbers of X disc' would have been a huge improvement imo. Or a 'i'm using X disc because i'm off to the right and this disc will hold a left fade according to the flight numbers'. anything that would shine light onto the flight of the discs during the round would be awesome. otherwise love the video with the classic foundation goofiness
@@ronjones-6977 that's what I'm saying. Open course high wind. Terrible testing conditions. They could have thrown forces or anax and flipped them in this video.
Gateway makes great discs! I throw the Shaman, Mystic, Spear and Journey. You can't judge a company's discs unless you try all the different plastics in each mold or at the very least hold them to see how they feel in the hand.
Gateway is a really great brand for "unique" discs because their revenue is all from people buying wizards, so they can keep all kinds of different molds in the lineup
I would rather see this content after you throw the discs in a field prior. Then you can understand the disc and where to use it. It feels like you are not giving them a chance.
Haven’t watched yet but y’all should throw the black zombie CHAINSAW. Best putter on the market, unfortunately made by gateway. Can’t wait for black zombie to start making their own discs.
@@HARwinsOUTagain I agree, their plastic is top notch. The K1 soft in their putters is really nice. I use the Kaxe Z a lot and also really like the Svea. Can't wait till they land a big name player in the future.
You guys should do a series where you do a full bag of like every companies discs
At the very least, Konner needs to do a full MVP bag round
1 disc per manufacturer challenge
And they can't use the same brand twice in a row
Yes
great idea
I love this video because it’s just like how a game goes with my disc buddies.

Pretty cool to see a disc I dyed on the UA-cam. Look Ma, I made it!

Great video idea!
This is a winner! What a cool idea. Hold rhe draft during Grip Locked and then shoot a video after!
I got an element for christmas and it flies for me the same as a buzzz with less fade and i love it
Mine tends to be very point and shoot, especially with a bit of hyzer
@@Mateo-mg4jw exactly man, you cant go wrong with a point and shoot on the course.

You guys should definitely try out some discs from Viking discs too!!
Nice been waiting for a long time for this!
I haven't thrown much but but I found an element with no name/number and it's like a flippier buzzz and it's now one of my favorite discs

Warlock is my go to putter. A beadless wizard.
I randomly acquired a Gateway Journey. It quickly became my go-to distance driver. Nothing has the combination of glide and distance that the Journey has. I absolutely love it.
Hunter throws 450 dead accurate in the last video. Throws it into the ground 50 feet in front of him on every drive in this one. I like it.
That's disc golf haha
It be like that 🤷🏽♂️
The Illusion is a great disc, my first ace disc. Tragedy struck and it was torn apart by a mower when I left it on the course by accident. RIP😔
The Devilhawk does have no glide, but that is the beauty of it for upshots.. at least for me. lol

Also drip goes hard🤟
Love my eraser Wizard after switching from a SSS. That's honestly all I know from Gateway, but it's enough for me.
The special blend Wizards are super grippy
Can’t stand feeling all the shit on the bottom of the disc
Wizards for life 💪💪
yeah i love gateway discs myself and that green shirt is freakin sick
You guys should do a video like this but with westside discs since no one seems to know anything about them other than the harp
Konner's sequence on hole 19 was pretty incredible.
I’m going to say it. Silas could use some camera training. Thanks for the video guys.
