  • This is the last in a series of videos where I work on and style my portulacaria Afra (dwarf jade) pre bonsai material and get them on their way with structural pruning, branch selection, and styling. See the first video in this series for details on how I acquired the trees.
The first video in this raw material pre bonsai to bonsai series:

Grazie Tom, i Tuoi video, con i Tuoi tagli coraggiosi, insegnano a guardare la realtà in modo non banale.

Thanks Tom...Great advice about slowing down during pruning...Seems like your videos go by so fast...I guess that is due to interesting subject matter and how you present it...Tree looks great and I'm becoming a big propionate of variegated Port's...I have several now and I am, patiently, awaiting their growth so that I can start enjoying the pruning and "cutting the problems away"...Such a great specimen for Bonsai...Thanks for sharing and looking forward to future videos...

They are a great species and I’m glad that you are jumping in to ports! They are so rewarding to work with.

You can tell fall is approaching. My portucaria Afra are dropping a few leaves due to the reduced sunlight. It happens every fall.

I noticed the same! In fact, I’ve started bringing mine in a few trees at a time. I setup a new indoor plant room this year and am still working out the kinks. So far, so good - crossing my fingers that they all will fit!
It’s always a bit sad when the cold weather comes, but once they adjust to being indoors, they take off growing again.
