30 years ago, at the Royal Rumble, one of the dumbest decisions took place when Bret Hart & Lex Luger were declared co-winners of the signature match. Which doesn't make sense because the logical explanation would be for them two to return to the ring and keep going until there is one winner. Outside of that, the 1994 Royal Rumble is pretty sinful and not that memorable.

So here in '94 they declared both Bret and Lex the winners after both landed outside the ring simultaneously, but not John Cena and Batista when the same thing happened more than 10 years later?
One of the reasons is that there was probably backlash (not the PPV) due to the ending of the 94 rumble match. Another reason is that Triple Threat matches weren't really a thing in 94.

They didn't wanna go through that shit again, so they let them continue until there was one.
@robertanderson2898 It was even a 🪙 toss to decide who would face Yokozuna 1st and I believe Lex Luger won which resulted in him facing Yokozuna 1st and Bret having to face Owen Hart in the opener and the winner which was Yokozuna would face bret hart to see who would win the WWF Championship and Bret got his revenge from Wrestlemania IX.
The funny thing is, both cena and batista ended up fighting for a world title at wm that year

The Royal Rumble 1994 PPV was so trashy and so bad, yet so entertaining from a child's point of view. I remember watching this in awe and experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the night. I didn't care about botches and bad decisions. 😁
They should be declared co-winners again this year(LA Knight/Gunther) Royal Rumble as a homage to the 30th anniversary of this event

The biggest sin was the ending of the rumble itself fans wanted Bret to be the guy but Vince wanted lex to be the next hulk an we all know who came out on top in the end whoever when this happened again years later with cena an batista both became huge stars at WM21

Yeah, either Bret Hart and Lex Luger were allowed to restart the match like Batista and John Cena 11 years later to decide who would win the WWF title shot at Wrestlemania or make a triple threat match for the WWF title between Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Lex Luger and Yokozuna after Bret wrestled Owen earlier at Wrestlemania X to make Bret do double duty alone, then have a triple threat match later, but the triple threat match wasn't a thing 30 years ago. Keep it up and sin the last 4 Royal Rumble events in 1996, 1997, 2002 and 2003.

Do old school fans (of the 80s to 1994 ‘golden’ era) wish Diesel won the 1994 Royal Rumble? Him winning would have meant getting a title shot, against whoever won the casket match (the WWF champion), at WrestleMania X (he’d have become the challenger, at said WrestleMania). When he drew # 7, and eliminated Scott Steiner (and even eliminated Owen Hart, who eliminated, not only Scott Steiner’s tag team partner, but additionally his older brother - Rick Steiner), did fans *think* he was going to win?

This PPV, Christian, got screwed up here in Canada because a runaway satellite in space, part of the Anik family, had it's stabilizer wheel malfunction. I didn't see half of this event due to that.
But, it also screwed with The Weather Network's operations here, which could have caused a bigger problem if a random blizzard hit somewhere, and they couldn't communicate important safety info.
REAL bad juju. o.o
