Even if you have done the Missions tab already, I still recommend watching Step 1, since I go way more in-depth and also introduce extra concepts Missions ought to teach you but doesn't.

Hi I am curious. Was trying for so long to complete mission 5 with Elizabeth (I know it's 2.0) but I just couldn't punish it. Every time I guarded 5A was just too slow as was 5B. Hazama would just immediately guard. I eventually just switched to ruby and after a couple of tries completed it. Is it possible that Elizabeth simply can't punish him out of guard?
EX Falchion pin your comment
What was changed? You don’t have to go into too much depth
If you already made one. Please link us!
how do you react to a throw there is no visable difference until your already getting thrown what the fuck am i doing wrong
Instrucions unclear, became a Rashel main
It has 69 likes and im finna do it
I’m back I finished the missions so now I can legally watch this video
Yo
How do you grab?

You're doing god's work. Seriously. Since I have been playing for the past five months, I have been scouring the internet but could find nothing on how to actually play. The tutorial was helpful, but didn't do into things like negative edge switching or countering bursts with assist (that one I can understand since it would require you to take a hit, which would install a bad habit) or using a DP without accidentally push blocking. The things it did cover, you helped make me make sense of. I cannot thank you enough.
Li Shengshun ahhhh that’s what i was saying!!!
Welp. Time to somehow get worse at the game even though this is a guide
Cyrus yea but that’s cause your actively thinking and trying to get better
yeah u have to try and get bad b4 u can become good.
Theres this chart thingy that shows how ones confidence goes as they continue to practice at a thing.
At the beginning you are unaware and therefore optimistic.
Later on as you learn the basic your confidence is at its peak as you learn and get better.
But as you get to the novice levels and realize just how much you actually don't know, your confidence drops greatly.
Only increasing again once more once you become what could be considered a master...
@@remixtheidiot5771 could you link the chart if you have it? sounds interesting
@@Awesomizer83 Search up the dunning-kruger effect.
I remind myself of the existence of this every time I learn a new skill. I'm not new to fighting games but I am new to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle and have only recently started trying to actually improve at fighting games rather than just button mashing as I've done as a wee child.
Even with the knowledge, you cannot escape the dunning-kruger effect.
The problem why i've never been good at this game is:
-my eyes can't keep up with the movement
-mashing button habit
for me it's literally the 1st. Bc there's so much shit you can do to mix people up in this game, and the offputting animations I just can't keep up with it tbh.
With time and experience you start learning what to focus your eyes on and what to filter out, your "mental stack" will also diminish so your reaction times will get better and mashing will feel less "useful".
Don't get discouraged!

id just like to state that ive been wanting to get into different fighting games for a while and this is the first beginners guide ive found that actually states that the directional input is in numpad notation. i feel like a bit of a dork
Amazing work on this video, covered a lot of the things I struggled with when getting into the game when I started and made things very clear and concise. I will definitely share this with those that are interested in learning the game 👌
this is what i’ve been asking for!! why does it take so long to find basic tutorials for people starting out? this video covered more than i asked,, thank youuuu
hey um do you have any idea of how i can log into the game ? i just downloaded it and i have no idea how to login so i can play online
Got the game yesterday and did the story and thought it was fun went online and got melted by everyone. After watching this video I went back in and was destroyed. Probably going to need a lot more practice cause apparently, I suck really bad at this game.
The big problem for me is the fact that you have to move the left stick on the gamepad to make different combos and i was like WTF?! I'm to used to play 3D fighting games like Budokai Tenkaichi
@@etam8099 what do you mean by moving the left stick?
@@marrowyoutube I think like inputs
@@averageparasenjoyer oh lol that's pretty basic
I never really got the number pad notations so I tried to memorize what the sprite animation was for a character and when I saw a combo I tried to do it of memory instead of using the numbers. But thanks to this guide I sorta know how to translate combos just in time for 2.0.
It's a good skill to have anyways, to be able to recognize what attack and what input someone else is doing. Not only it makes it easier to copy combos while watching high level matches but it also helps you understand what your opponent was getting you with so you can lab it out later!
been playing this game on and off since release, and this still helped me
Just got the Bundle cuz it was on sale on the switch, this was a good vid as this is my first game of this series. this game looks fun :)
Excellent guide. You really weren't baiting with the title. the FGC world can be extremely daunting to new players. Vids like this are very useful for educating beginners on how things are, especially when there is too much to discover for a single person in a timely manner.
I expected this to be 50 minutes of him talking about how to play Plat-chan and nobody else
I wanted to buy this game as a huge fan of Smash wanting to branch out to other fighting games and a huge fan of MegaTen and Persona, thank you so much
14:52 if anyone is having trouble at this part, this is pretty much the easiest 12k cross combo in bbtag. pick heart and adachi, 5AAAA (5P in the second hit), (cross combo before the final 5A), mash b without directions, after the final heart 5B, 214BC, if you dont have 10k, just press P when they get close to ground.
I'm highly disappointed that there wasn't an actual Rachel rant in this.
Right?
Im new to BBtag so whats the joke with her? Is it something along the lines of ppl sexualize her even though she looks prepubescent?
@@bunny1866 My best explanation is that it's left over hate from most of the Mainline BlazBlue games where she is an oppressive top tier that can outright negate some characters pending on which game you play.
Or people might just hate her extreme pressure and her zoning setups (the latter of which are incredibly weak in Tag)
Edit:Added to my original comment.
Lolis 👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅
This is a super useful guide. I admit that the active assist thing is easily the thing that trips me up the most. It's hard to develop a muscle memory for using it.
Love this video! I just picked up BBTAG a week ago. I know I know I'm crazy late but I'm enjoying it!
Great overall info too!
Great guide not just for bbtag but fighting game basics too!
Love videos like this, hope to see more educational videos on the topic of fighting games. Great video -Irongod 🙂
Amazing guide, watched it side by side for about 5 hours or so self training. Covered a wide range of much needed topics for newer players
This guide is super awesome! A lot of beginners fighting guides end up just being a glossary of terms, which is fine for making you understand the jargon advanced players use, but doesn't really help you get better. This guide, on the other hand, actually gave me a game plan for how to get into and get used to the controls/stragegy/etc. Keep up the good work! You've got my subscription.
Ex Falchion is probably not reading this but I've been watching him for a while now and I have BBTag, I used to want to get good at this game but I fell off. I still kept up with the game I saw 2.0 was coming out and I gained interest again. Literally five minutes after I was thinking about playing the game again this video came out. I was watching the video then I stopped to do the two first tabs in tactics mode and came back to the video and watched the rest. Since I knew what type of characters I like, when I got to the portion of the video that talk about characters I found a good team! Thanks Ex
Yo I haven't finished watching the guide yet but I wanted to say that my dude you have made a pretty good job explain all things and even though I am not new at BBTAG (Been playing for a year+) I am enjoying watching it !
You have earned a subscriber !
Keep up the good work !
Just picked this up for 5 bucks. I played p4a and p4au back in the day.
Can't wait to dive in! Thanks for making this.
i used to never get the notations even in your HFTF video, now i get it better. thx EX
I’m about show to my friend CJ this he’s first fighting game this perfect for him. Thank you Ex Falchion
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I always only played 3D fighting games like Tekken and Soul Calibur but yesterday my friend introduced me to BlazBlue and Guilty Gear and I was amazed at the unique characters and gameplay that decided to pick up BOTH games!! Time to start grinding.
Same, Ive only ever played Smash but I played this at my friends house a few days ago and I thought it was fun. I just bought it today, and jeez, I dont know how to play at all lol
Now this is a real contribution to BBTAG.
When you said "I play on mixbox" I immediately subbed
Thank you so much for actually explaining the numpad system in an easy to understand way!
i just got this game and beat this game story yesterday xD
As someone else who covers Blazblue I must say you've done an amazing job on this video
I'm ready for the rollback netcode!
This is a good guide. Not gonna lie this almost makes me want to go back to bbtag, after 1.5 dropped I stopped, might try again on 2.0
I needed this guide I'm not new to bbtag but the notations lesson was really easy to understand
I went online and gave up because I kept losing and felt no improvement. This video inspired me to put my hat back in the ring, this time with a learning mindset.
Still losing but at least I’m having fun playing.
Same but i only have the demo
Im new but i had the demo for like 2 weeks and played ruby and ragna and im ok with them, and then i got the actual game and i love it but the only thing i find hard is actaul looking for combos because i soft of having a difficult time finding way to do combos but imma keep on practicing
@Ben Over like in any other fighting games there is several moves to start a combo like in mvc spider mans spider sting but in this game, thete isn't really that much combo started and the only one i found was ruby a a b and thats all i found so the problem is, is that i can't find moves that can lead to a combo
Thanks for the heads up at 2:41 😊
this is a really well edited video!! awesome job!!
Great video man.
for play fun in this games GOOD LUCK
Amazing guide , good job my guy
Great guide! This will help me to get into BBTAG.😁
As a Smash player primarily who has played Tekken and Street fighter before, I still felt like releasing block before making a move which kept getting me punished. Takes a while to remember that I'm blocking, not shielding sometimes lol.
There's only 4 fighting games I play for fun, Smash Bros, Pokken Tournament, and either Blazblue or Guilty Gear.
really?
@@Marcel-vz7vp Yeah, honestly. A lot of FG fans seem to think that if I'm playing fighting games casually, then I'm playing it wrong. And it's not like I don't put in the effort to learn how to play, i just get good on my own time. Not eeryone wants to be a part of EVO, cause video games at the end of the day are meant to be fun.
People stil play poklen tpurnament?
@@joshzebrah1885 a whole bunch
Faidou no smash :(
no one can help you when the big long monster man dives at you from the other side of the stage.
What is it you dislike about Es? Is it the playstyle not your thing?
What was that noise at 26:56?
I love this game I have both ps4 and switch I use a qanba drone I modded with sanwa parts I have an adapter for switch
is hazama and the robot girl a good team?
i dont understand the numbers with letters.
Falcon search fist of the North Star (FOTNS) on the App Store and the lobby screen looks a lot like something diamond hard r
Amazing.
Finally, some rep for my home state! Nothing goes on in this dead town im in, so I'll have to start going for those 1hr+ drives lol. The stream footage, was that in Cary or Charlotte?
Charlotte, Charlotte scene is pretty good, I went there when I lived in Clemmons/Winston-Salem, there's stuff here in Raleigh/Cary where I am now too
me playing this game as a neo main and seeing her almost or at the bottom of the tier list : Chalenge accepted
(seriousely i think she had that mobility that can make you do great things and she had some attacks wich looks the same wich is something i love to use to brain my ennemies)
edit: and i can see more clearly what i'm doing because i found that she had less particles with attacks
are you planning on doing more reviews? (if yes, please reviee kill la kill the game if and lethal league)
When I first got the game I started with Mika and Akihiko and now today I play Weiss and Yukiko
Platinum thumbnail
Is it weird that I found Weiss/Yukiko my two mains
Actually a decent team tbh
Krbay 101 decent team?? yukiko is the shittiest character in the game

i've started this game recently and seeing 0 people online really hurt :D
@EX FALCHION for a future video could you make a hol horse and boingo moveset video? I was trying to main him
Something that I need clarified is the timing to do a weak point attack. I main azrael and the forward throw A
AA
AAA
AAAA> weakpoint attack is tripping me up. And sometimes I get the weak point
"if u are zoned dont block dj and approach" cries on kanji main vs vatista
well i dont say to not block i just say to hold downback not back in reaction to projectiles 😔
@@EXFalchion oh thats true sry fam, really nice guide btw, very well explained and covered, really hope 2.0 adds new things as they teased with jubei croscut being different

I need to know why I should never play Rachel
i play this game with a gamecube controller and it feels good
Is there a new beginners guide for the current version?
I honestly don't get the practicality of the mission mode since its all so hyper specific it isn't something you'll pull put at a moment's notice that's not how a fight works
A lot of them are so stringent on what makes you fail it is just not fun
Hey can you finish the jojo character guide
Nice Video. Thanks.
How do you get more P$ in the game. Yes it's important
R.i.p diamond records everyone
Bought the deluxe for 25 this week, sale ends on 01/20
I don't know if you still answer questions on here but I am seriously stumped on the partner skill change mission. I have been maining Gordeau and Carmine for a while now and I thought the easiest way to hit 7000 thousand would be to 5AAA BB 236C with Gordeau then 5P into Carmine and use his 236B+C, but for some reason I cannot get the combos to ever connect with each other and I don't know why. When I do it the cpu will through her invisibility shield up and the combo instantly ends. I also tried cheesing it by setting up three traps with Carmine and doing a 236C 5AA then 5P into a 236C with Gordeau but again, they don't connect.
The only thing I can think of as to why it doesn't work is because I have to do the switch mid combo, but figuring out when and what attack will allow the combo to continue is just so hard for me. Sometimes I spend hours practicing and I'm just like "maybe this way will work?" And I'm just stumped at this point and I don't know how to clear this. Maybe you can help me?
Sorry if the 5A stuff is messy I'm still learning how to convert it in practice.
By the way, I did mission 11 no problem. So maybe I'm just weird 🤔
i fight 0 bars all the time and have no lag
I bought this game solely for the purpose of chibi naoto and now I wanna git gud
I think mission 24 is broken now
Thank u
But how do I play Blitztank?
Awwwwew I want to playyy
I have the trial version on Switch and the sensitivity is jacked up to an insane degree. Is there any way to fix this in the full game.
Solid vid.
Can you tell me how to play a fighting game on a shitty Australian internet connection?
1. Upgrade your connection;
2. Find people online that are closer to where you live through discord and social media;
3. Try figuring out port forwarding;
4. Ditch online and find friends to play with in real life
Anyone got tips on Es' J.C cause I'm having trouble putting that in combos
I love Rachel!
You're going to do a 2.0 guide?
I've never played this game and I gotta know if Fuuka on the top left at 5:54 is edited in or it's actually in the game lol
put in for video purposes :pensive:
Please please please tell me how to combo escape last game I played was bb cronophantasma and burst was awesome 54 hit long combo let me just stop you right there playing this I have no idea how to do it
