Evolution. Exactly what I'm going though. I have no experience at all with flute playing or flute making but my garden has become a bambu forest. It's calling me to make music rather than deconstruct plants. What am I to do? Well, I've been evolving the idea, that in my journey, I should be using my breath to make natural sounds with nature. Bamboo flutes in the ice? Don't they get damage by this temperature changes? At least I did quite some instruments made out of bamboo many years ago, and that what happened quite some times. Did I wrong or does this sometimes happen to yours as well?
Where can i buy a flute from you? I am into Native American Flutes but don't have a Bamboo one as of yet. Do you happen to have a website? Beautiful work.
You can oil your bamboo flute as often as you like. Walnut oil is a good non toxic solution. For more durable applications use tung oil. As for fixing the Flute... It hard to say there is always a way to fix a Flute. Narrowing done whats wrong with it can be tricky ;)
Ashok Dahal i use a stone boring bit made for metal working attached to a electric drill. The fast rotation of the drill heats up the stone hot enough to burn through the node while spining. This is my Perfered method. Burn curing from the inside while boring the hole prevents future cracking. My second method if there is no electricity is to first knock out node with metal bar or pipe then heat up a pipe red hot with torch or fire kiln. twist while pushing through nodes. This process may have to be repeated a few times Please be gentle . Use the power of the tool, dont force anything. .. Ever Clean the rest with sand paper taped to metal bar. Sorry for the late reply. The cleaner the inside barrel the truer the sound Love

Ok will it looks like someone tried to sand it down. It is a five hole flute,four holes plus a back thumb hole.
