Want to summarize in English what I previously posted in Chinese to facilitate understanding by overseas viewers that could not read/understand Chinese. In live chat with his fans, and later in interviews with newspapaers/magazines, Zhou Shen disclosed that in the Chinese part of his version of 《Memory》, he had changed/rewritten some of words/phrases from the original lyrics of the Chinese version of 《Memory》 , i.e. why people will not find those Chinese lyrics that he rewrote/changed in the authenic Chinese version of 《Memory》. In later interviews with newspapers/magazines, Zhou Shen opened up on his psychological journey of rewritting/changing those lyrics. He said he originally rewrote those lyrics from the perspective of Grizabella , but then in the process, he discovered Grizabella resembled himself. Many people later thought the lyrics he wrote was about himself. Zhou Shen admitted that he wrote those lyrics about Grizabella and himself as well as for others who seeked to be accepted and understood by peers/others. He said he cried everytime he sang this song《Memory》as he immersed/substituted himslef into Grizabella, who seeked to return to/accepted by her ethnical groups, but rejected. He said Grizabella's situation is very similar to the environment/circumstances that he grew up. It was about his voice; people nowadays might say he has a great voice, but in the past, majority thought it was weird.So he grew up always had this feeling of not being accpted. So he has been seeking for an opportunity to be accepted. All through his singing career since his debut, he found it much harder and both energy and time-consuming as compared to other peers in the industry; he thought that was why he needed an extra process/much longer time to be accepted by the general audience, and it was like Grizabella in the musical "Cats": she stretched out her hand, but not sure if her peers or anyone else would respond to her.
