MXU 1000 biggest junk on the market

- Had nothing but problems with it. The company suck, they are hard to get ahold too and don’t return your calls. Had it for 3 months and than it started to having starting problems and electrical issues. As you see in the video, this is how it left the factory after installing a new engine harness. #massimo #junk #mxu1000
There’s another guy on here that got burnt with this same unit. His name is Kenneth Shilling. His issue started at only two weeks after he purchased it. They cockblocked the comments section on his video. You can see by his about profile when they started to block him like they were ready for him when he made the video cause he’s tried to re-upload the video it looks like five or six times and yet the comments section still won’t allow him to get a response. His issue started after he left his place in Texas or maybe it wasn’t his place, to make a long story short when he got to his place in Oklahoma I believe, the bike wouldn’t run right. So after calling the dealership in Texas, they told him to unplug the battery for 15 minutes or so and that should reset the computer to be able to run it there but it didn’t work so now they telling him to disconnect the muffler and clean it out because he thought it might have built up some carbon on it. The refused to do that because now he would be voiding the warranty so they just cut him off. When I say they cut him off, I mean UA-cam cut him off completely so he wouldn’t be able to see the comments at all and no one is allowed to ever see them. His video has just over five thousand views on it and he had just started it March. They stopped that one video from ever gaining any traction on it. Five thousand views. Can you believe that it came a Chinesium company with that kind of power to stop a pissed off customer from revealing the truth about their product. Well anywhoo
Thanks for heads up I was going to get one next month...not now...looks like I'll have to re-group and get one that is tried and true. thanks again
Same.
Just get a honda or canam..
Thanks for this video I was going to buy a used one but now I know why he's probably selling it .sounds like even with a warranty this company sucks .
Your issues have a lot to do with a sub-par dealer. I know this because we are an Odes dealer and I get machines in all the time that sat at other dealerships for months. Sometimes it really is parts availability (I've dealt with that and it sucks), but what Ive found is it's often dealers/techs that don't know what to do with it. You'd be surprised how common that is. This is half the problem. Many iffy dealers, so you have to choose wisely. Maybe ask how much power sports experience the service dept has.... That'll tell you a lot about what you'll get for service/support.
How you got the machine back with wires hanging all over and switches that don't work says EVERYTHING.
As for the extra connectors hanging under there, that is normal. There are a handful that don't go to anything because as accessories have been added, removed, or changed over the last few years the extra connectors stayed.
Many of the problems people have had with communication are because they purchased their machine when Odes was owned by Massimo. Therefore Massimo will be little help because they are not able to sell those machines anymore. Odes has been back on their own for around a year and building the company from the ground up again and also factory direct. So no more middle man importer for parts. A lot has changed. We helped out Odes as tech support during that transition period too so we got a front row seat to the whole thing.
@Race Craft If you don't mind me asking... how are both Odes and Massimo? I am likely to be looking for a crew-sized machine, and specifically want one with heat and AC to make it more useful throughout the year in Canada. Currently the Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Crew is my top pick, but I'm trying to check out other brands too.
@@Maplicito if you're looking for something full size, I'd go with Odes over Massimo. The Odes machines are pretty good for the money but I'll admit you will be doing a little more tinkering over time. It's a price point thing. $24k(ish) for heat, AC, winch and light bar. Everything comes standard.
@@racecraft.performance thank you for the response, that was helpful!
Hmmmm, the feeling I get is that there are surplus electrical connections under the front that are there for a reason ie extra accessories. Why were the hydraulic rams disconnected? I'm a self taught mechanic and think there is more to this story than we are being told.
I bought a massimo gkm200 aka a 176cc gokart. I went through the entire thing with a mechanic buddy of mine and tightened all the bolts, fixed the tie rods, replaced the oil and air filter (didn’t need rejetting), and then took off the governor. Left it out in the snow and it was fine, beat the piss out of the thing too. For Chinese stuff you gotta go through it before you ride it. Sure it’s gonna rust out in a few years of I don’t repaint it but it’s not bad.
After watching this, it reminded me why it’s worth it to spend a little bit more on a Kawasaki teryx. Or any Japanese built SXS.
For the money I guess it would better to just get a used 1/4 ton 4x4 pickup. At least you can title and license that in every state and drive it on or off road.
You have a problem with your dealership. You did NOT take it “back to the manufacturer”.
For that matter if you bought a new $80k truck and had problems you still wouldn’t take it back to the manufacturer
You’re mad I get that but don’t play it up that you took it back to the factory.
Sue for a lemon lawsuit. Thats what I did with Polaris.
Had similar issues with CFmoto uforce 1000. After 3 months in the shop, they never could figure out the electrical issue. Had wires melt, fuses blown, wouldn't start half the time, and battery drain. Sold that piece of xxxx.
What did you get to replace it?
Polaris Ranger@@kylerice9714
Great video. I'm glad I found this. I was contemplating bying one. Will stick to a yamaha viking 700. Bulletproof and reliable
LoL. A picture of a Yamaha is more durable than this POS
slow 50mphbarely
If your going over 50, probably need a car…
That sucks, must have been a Friday afternoon machine, lol. But with all jokes aside they are supposed to be a good machine. I bought a RAM truck that has nothing but issue while the motor in it was torn down three different times replacing all lifters before 50,000 miles. My buddy with the same truck has 150,000 on it with no issues to this day. The point is sometimes you actually do get a lemon 🍋.
My Dodge Ram Hemi 2010 last 240k before the lifter took a shit
@@doublegrant6144 mine only lasted 25,000 miles. Now I'm on my 3rd set before 50,000 miles. For a while there it seemed I was getting lifters every oil change, not just one set or so but complete change outs of all lifters. This is my last ram
My buddy fucked up his tie rods and bearings and we still drove 75 miles on the interstate in it. What a shame.
Sorry you had problems my friend. You’ve had it a long time since I am just now seeing this message. But I’ll tell you that you just bought a lemon. Who knows? But it happens to everyone at least once in life. I’m an old cogger now at 73. But I hope you will use this as a learning lesson. Meaning, that try to do what I did as a young man when I got burned. I learned that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! Don’t let it run out on you. Take care of issues with the SELLER and hold his feet to the fire! There are lemon laws in almost every State of the United States!! Before buying something like this that is so expensive, make sure you check the local laws my friend. Maybe consider MAINTENANCE INSURANCE!! It can be extremely expensive though. Worth checking out though.
While you have the SELLERS FEET WARMING UP, BE SURE AND CALL THE MANUFACTURER AND GET THEM INTO THE LOOP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. DONT PUT IT OFF!
This way you will be way out in front of them and please be sure above all, DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT EVERY THING!
I’ll shut up now but considering the amount of the money, at least for those who are SA’s, just threaten them with legal action.
Lastly, MAKE THEM GIVE YOU ANOTHER BRAND NEW MACHINE. GIVE THEM THE LEMON BACK. YOU DIDNT COME TO THEM TO BUY A LEMON. GIVE IT BACK TO THEM AND GET YOU ANOTHER NEW ONE!!
Hope this helps. It works for me fifty years ago and it is still working for me today! God Bless!!
That’s a shame I’ll take them SOB to court
I had almost exact same problems you did minus the electrical fire on top of the fuel tank they were able to get me a new one and it Road about 3 feet under the trailer and it dropped a rod. I had to file with the state of Texas for the lemon law and it took a few months, but I got it back and probably wouldn’t buy the Kabota.
Those screws on the front aint bad! Taking apart a canam front is a nightmare.😅
Bought a MSU 850 and it’s not much better than this. Throttle cable seized up so they gave me another one to put on myself because both of their mechanics quit at the same time. Well not only did the new replacement cable seize up but the drive assembly decided to take a dump and guess what it said on the cover. It said CF Moto. All jokes aside, the way I see it is that CF Moto didn’t think this power plant was good enough so they sold a large quantity of them to Massimo for an unbelievably low price. Enough said. So now after on three months and only 53 miles on the bike and it’s Christmas time coming up. You guys thinking what I’m thinking. Either someone gets a new bike or a total refund or somebody’s gonna to ruin Christmas for all its employees. If I have to lawyer up, I’m prepared to do it at this point I’m so stinking mad. After paying them cash and they still didn’t cut me no breaks. After it was all said and done I shelled out over 15 grand for the bike that started out good but ended up so bad, especially after having to take out all my saws and trimmers out the bed and log splitter equipment. So yeah like this guy says, spend the extra money on a reputable company and you won’t have these problems.
Man I would put that Company out to every news station everywhere and social media hopefully and talk to an attorney it’s still sitting there broke
Grounding issue. If you’re not gonna bring it to the dealership, then better learn electrical.
It was cheap because it's garbage. The "factory" is far away. Dealers selling junk don't surprise me when their service is poor. I do appreciate the warning since they don't deserve to sell anything, but this is typical Chinesium quality. Cheap machinery usually costs much more than quality in the end. Assembling ChiCom parts in CONUS doesn't make them not junk.
Electrical issues is due to water These things are water resistant, not waterproof.
How could you not tell it was a piece of junk when you bought it? The frame is trash. It has the cheapest shocks. The whole thing is junk.
2k pounds it's solid
Lawsuit.
I was looking in the Hvac ones they have but NM now
How is the quality? What’s the price new or used?
New $27,000 online
People think they are clever buying Chinese junk and then they complain when it turns to shit. Just buy quality product in the first place and it will work out cheaper in the long run anyway.
the plugs are for diff stuff. they sue yamah arts. the dealer didnt prep it ..gota chek
So if all this was wrong why did you pick it up.
I’ve herd of a law suit against this company I own one of these and would like to find out more about the law suit more need to jump in
Any updates?
Emailed and haven’t received any replies back.
Wow, I was kinda sorta interested in an MXD until I saw this. Maybe I'll get a Kioti 2200ps instead. Ten Grand less and it does NOT have spark plugs!
they solid minor fuse elec gremlin. put bolts in the hinge they can get lose they dealer prep wasnt good not the bike
We know where this company came from over seas!!
Lemme guess mfg is garland TX?
Is this the same as the Odes desert warrior
Looks like it
What country was it made in?
Massimo's powersports products are assembled and tested in America, in a 325,000-square-foot facility in Garland, through a partnership with Chinese manufacturer Linhai.
Yea I got that vibe . Like it does look cool but …..
Мужик ты где его использовал !?!?
they come half assembled frm fact the dealer is prepped it they not solid techs. they chaed owner. know ur shit there solid anthin w mtor wil run
Dude, wtf did you just write?
Hysun, lihai, massimo, ucm etc....same china made atvs and side by side. All crap. Welds on chassis breaks. Wont start. Runs erratically etc ...all within 3 mos of normal use. Yup its junk

All Chinese cars or motorcycle has same quality problems
get a ziptie and do and plug it in
Really sad.
motor is in bak
I deal with people like this guy all the time. They never tell you they don't do any routine maintenance. Half those screws hood are for show. This guy is a dummy with a camera.
Dumb? If this pos side by side only has less than 60 hours on it what maintenance does it need? Also the main headquarters is in a ghetto ass place in Dallas Tx and 90% of the workers was smoking weed and shooting birds with a BB gun. On video was exactly how it was when I got it back from Dallas. If you work for this company, I feel bad for you guy.
@@demline_stretcher4099 I bought the gkm200 and it was awesome after I went through it with my friend and did maintenance before I even rode the thing. I agree that the dipshits who put it together are probably useless, but I bet if you brought it to a legit car mechanic they would have it running and all fixed up in a day. Bitch and a half but don’t feel like it’s a lost cause dude!
@@demline_stretcher4099 things arent always perfect there not like cars every part
@@demline_stretcher4099 quit judging they all know how to work on bikes guarenteed all there bikes are top notch and level..
@@demline_stretcher4099 they jus sold a wuik one barely done mass sales dalls to busy big city
cheap chinese sxs and your surprised on poor build quality ha ha ha ha
