It's been a while since I've seen a good gd documentary, I still really miss when sea used to make them. It's good to see someone making new ones though:)
It's actually kinda insane, bloodbath was considered almost impossible at the time and was unbeaten for almost a year, but now it's out of the top 100. Great video though :)
Great video honestly, really interesting to look back at it with a different lens. I also think it's worth mentioning that from memory, Sandstorm and I both beat Cataclysm on the same day only hours apart.
Corrections: 1. girondavid was the first to beat cataclysm 2. Smokes was on 60hz 3. Mabbybwas 144hz Also my Twitter cut off at the end, its @LfritzTv ELandP claimed my video for using Tarkus, so that's why there are ads, sorry
I find that although this is the longest and most influential GD race for a level. The race to beat Bloodlust caused more damage because it Pointercrate banned Skullo and Sunix, caused the FPS Bypass debate, caused the PPF vs Bloodlust drama, tore some people's reputation, etc.
As I didn’t play gd in 1.9, and frankly didn’t know about it, this was really interesting to watch! Thank you for the history lesson bro and keep up this awesome content! :D
Good video, but there are some mistakes. Firstly, smokes was 60hz before he returned back to the game. I believe he got 92 on bloodbath on 60hz. Also GironDavid was the first victor and sandstorm beat cata only a couple of hours or so before riot I believe
Fun fact: There are 443 people proven to have beaten bloodbath legit. There 553 people who from all over the world that have reached earth's orbit. I get geometry dash was released way after we sent people into space, but just the fact that more people have been to space than victors of bloodbath is a statement as to its difficulty.
Not necessarily. Just because not many people have done something, doesn't mean they couldn't, or that it's hard. Regardless, the level is unbelievably hard.
3.8 billion people know about video games & plays them think of how few of those people know GD, and seeing the most subscribed gd channel has 2 million subscribers, ofc there wont be a lot of victors
As influential and important as the whole race was... it really hasn't been well documented in one video till now. People tend to forget Surv and Quasar nowadays despite them having pretty damn good rep for a decent while after. Good work on this! Really good stuff.
The 'Meet the Sniper!' Acapella in the back ground of the survey vs quasar period just enhanced the experience of watching this video so much more, anyhow, great video.
This wad really cool to see, and I’m really sad I wasn’t active in the community during this time to witness it. Thanks for making this, I really appreciated and enjoyed it :)
The closest thing to this race that I have seen happen so far was the race for the second mobile victor on Celestial Force, with the insane ending of Thunder having it sniped from him at the last minute with Venfy and Tetrys (Second and Third Victors) beating it on the same day.
Massive brawlhalla and gd fan, kinda wild to see a video involving sandstorm, never looked too far into his gd accomplishments and it’s crazy he did some big stuff here too. Sick ass brawlhalla player too.
The fact that Sandstorm was one of the best gd players and now the best Brawlhalla player in the world just blows my mind, especially because I play both games daily
7:56 Slight correction, according to a comment on one of the cataclysm videos (I believe Sandstorm's initial completion), Sandstorm stated that Riot beat it in the same hour as him, not multiple days after.
It's weird to see all these new history videos come up when I was living through this moment myself in the past. There are very few left who remember the good old days of 1.9.
Honestly feel bad for Surv, being at Gboy from 0 is one of the most stressful and terrifying things I've experienced as a player, and him having a shot at being the first victor must have made that fail all the more worse
I still remember the day I saw that Quasar beat BB in my recommended that was a crazy day... I was still waiting to see someone die on the triple spike before it was beaten... Oh my god huhuhuh get rekt Surv still remember it to this day...
What a fantastic video! I'm quite sad that I didn't follow the race, not because I wasn't around (I started in 1.0), but because my mom wouldn't let me use UA-cam at that time LOL.
It's been a while since I've seen a good gd documentary, I still really miss when sea used to make them. It's good to see someone making new ones though:)

wait what i thought it was 2nd
i thought the top 5 was SW, bloodbath, kenos, ice carbon diablo x and bloodlust
And I still see people saying that this is the hardest Demon of the game
Great video honestly, really interesting to look back at it with a different lens. I also think it's worth mentioning that from memory, Sandstorm and I both beat Cataclysm on the same day only hours apart.
Riot tbh if you never completed cataclysm bb would never happen, gg legend
Dont feel compelled to come back, play what you want, thank you for what you've done in this game.

I feel like a gd boomer. “Back in my day, bloodbath was the hardest level!” I do miss those days though.

The Bloodlust race also kinda sucked because Sunix beat it in like a week.
@@MrPatrickbuit But he used FPS bypass
Cnek I am aware, but the fact that he beat it so quick already killed the hype. Even if he used FPS Bypass etc. The hype was already dead.
Exactly why Pointercrate is also very stupid as well and I hate the demonlist with a passion
@@DZAG_OFFICIAL lmao same
Awesome video. Well researched and well edited. Mad props
Also about mabby - mabby is 144hz and he streamed on twitch, backing up his legitimacy ;)
It was well made and you said it right
This is the third AeonAir comment I've seen on a Geometry Dash video with less than 5 likes, I think all of them had hearts though.

It's more of because thunder rarely even played the level after 95 fail
