  • Why "The Revival" when we have other orgs working for Iqamat e Deen- Ft. The Revival Team - Mudassir Rashid I Shabbir Wani I Raja Faizan I Adv. Armaghan Ahmed (Part 2)
The struggle for Islamic revival that began after the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate in the first quarter of the 20th century now seems to be at an impasse. The Islamic movements that were once considered the vanguards of this struggle have either vanished from the face of the Earth, or are reduced to futile attempts in justifying their existence. Some have even changed their stance regarding the struggle, or began wielding the flag of “Moderate Islam”. Though there are some achievements of these organizations and movements, none of them have really been able to get close to achieving their ultimate declared goal i.e. establishment of Islam in all spheres of life, individual and collective (غلبہِ دین ). The reasons for their failure are multifold, some of which are:
    1. Relying on ineffective means to achieve vision and objectives
    2. Adopting democracy for the inner workings of organization
    3. Creating unnecessary Dichotomies regarding methodology
    4. Lack of unity among Islamic Forces
    5. Lack of comprehensiveness in thought
    6. Organizational Management based on activities rather than objectives (following issues arise because of this which are among the reasons of failure)
    • Organizational discipline becoming objective instead of the vision
    • Action for the sake of action and acceptability of ineffective struggle
    • Stagnancy in thought and action
    • Discarding merit at every level of organization
    7. Lack of strategic planning
    8. Organizational Structure not based on functions
    9. Survival of the organization becoming top priority instead of the vision
    10. Failure to reconstruct and restructure the Islamic thought and making it plausible for the target audience of the age
    11. Failure to continuously produce activists and leaders
    12. Failure in engaging members according to their commitment levels, interests and skillsets
    13. Failure in raising awareness regarding the intellectual basis of Imaan among the members as well as the educated strata of society
    14. Failure to raise awareness regarding the Islamic concept of human rights
    15. Lack of intellectual thinking
    16. Failure to refute arguments against the revolutionary concept of Deen
    17. Lack of support from the Traditionalists
    18. Failure in protecting members from radicalization
Perhaps the most destructive reason for the failure of these organizations/movements is the lack of strategic thinking in line with the need of the time and circumstance.
The Revival is an attempt to bridge these gaps and lay the foundations of a vibrant and impactful struggle that is planned strategically and is objective-based, in order to ensure progress towards the ultimate objective i.e. Establishing Islam in all spheres life (غلبہ دین) until its final achievement.
In this regard where there exists a vacuum that could be filled by an impactful struggle, there exist unnumerable challenges as well that must also be kept in view while preparing future plans. A few such challenges are as follows:
    1. Clouds of hopelessness lingering across Ummah caused by continuous failed attempts by revival movements
    2. A range of unrefuted arguments built against the true Islamic ideology overtime
    3. Declaring the true Islamic ideology and its proponents one of the biggest enemies by Western Powers and their determination to confront them with the best means possible
    4. Dominance of Deen being considered a vague distant dream that has no connection with the ongoing struggle for Islamic Revival.
    5. The abandoning of this thought by a majority across Muslim world and adoption of a watered-down concept of Deen by them instead
    6. World facing a global financial crisis caused by capitalism and globalization that has reduced a majority to struggle for their mere survival
    7. Considerable reduction in the attention span and exorbitant rise in the distractions caused by the popularity of Internet and smart phones and social media
    8. The inability to combine the struggles for Islamic Revival, because of sectarianism and factionalism, that is utmost necessary to achieve this Goal.
