Head 2 Toe Beauty’s physical store location is 10 minutes away from me and I asked the owners why they weren’t getting new Essie collections. He said that ever since L’Oréal bought them out, they seem to want to only deal with big companies like Walmart. He said it was becoming too much of a hassle. But, they still get new China Glaze and Color Club at great prices!
This might sound weird but I think Satin Slip would be a great color for summer, because with that jelly finish, it reminds me of popsicles and Kool aid lol. Just me?
lovelyrita I re-purchased a bottle of topless and barefoot a couple weeks ago and it has the wide brush. They didn’t publicize anything but I think they’ve been transitioning older colors to the new brush.
lovelyrita Larissa from polished lab rat did a video and figured out that you can swap the old Essie brush with a wide flat brush from glisten and glow which are 12 cents each! ❤️
After some thought and time to let the idea behind this collection sink in, I embrace the concept. I think it's creative, different, and fun, even though most of the shades are not my cup of tea.
I actually own Smokin Hot but mine is a solid Creme; no shift and no shimmer. Funny how they changed it up entirely for a “remix”. I’m liking the idea of these though, might get them just for the cute bottles.

Ballet sneakers is the matte version of ballet slippers. I found these at my local CVS as well as those originals with the symbols on it. I've been more into mademoiselle than ballet slippers for daily wear. That ballet sneakers I think looks weird on me.
WOAH. It's been a while since an Essie collection has really interested me (aside from the Mercury Retrograde duos - love most of those) These are great! I especially like Berry Nice, Below Zero & Like a Rebel :) If I wasn't such an indie addict I would be trying to hunt these down asap!! I hope they eventually make it into drugstores here at a lower price & I might pick up a few! P.s. I'm absolutely LOVING your Purple hair 😍

Originals Remixed - heard the name and I was hoping this collection would be reformulations of Essie classics that had horrible formulas like; Bikini so Teeny, Mint Candy Apple and Fiji. It's odd how the new 'remixed' polishes have little in common with their inspiration polishes. I wonder why Essie chose to call this collection, 'Originals Remixed'? I have to say I'm disappointed...but anyway, thanks for swatching!
I love the bottles but my Collection is getting way too big. I like Like a Rebel, Below Zero, and Wicked Fierce. I have Ladylike and Wicked, I Think they are more creme than shimmer. So this is a nice change and makes it a completely different color.
What is the point of this release? Taken as a collection, it's like a group of disconnected, un-spring time colors and finishes all mushed together. Taken as a concept, the idea that they are reimagining of classic colors strikes me as odd, as mainly nail polish collectors would care. But while (IMO) nail polish collectors might own Ballet Slippers or Wicked, they are not colors that stand out in the imagination like Starry Starry Night or Ruby Slippers might if Essie reimagined THOSE colors. So I am doubly confused. The bottles are cute, though. So I guess that's something.
I periodically check a few websites (amazon, 8ty8beauty, etc) and sort by new or search for info on new seasonal collections from the mainstream brands.
nice to know ballet sneakers is as much of a pain in the ass as ballet slippers.... a lot of this collection is really cool, but i don't get the "remix" idea. these aren't remixes, they are entirely new polishes. it's just marketing, and not even creative marketing. ...i think i just don't really like essie...

Essie should re release all their old polishes with the new brush. I would love the original wicked with the new wide brush.

This collection was unimpressive. Although the concept was cute, there are only two shades worth buying and I would still wait for a sale.
