I don’t know why the line “drop your numerous pens” amuses me so much. Especially when she uses a quill for everything.
Was mostly referring to quills when saying "pens", lol. It was just to rhyme, really.
@@4everfreebrony Something just about the way you even say it makes me smile.
"No, tiny librarian horse. Drop your pens"
*drops pen*
"come on, all of them"
*numerous pens fall to the floor.*
"..."
*reluctantly drops tiny quill*
"good"
Even when listening to another American Pie Parody, I still sing The Saga Begins by Weird Al.
Copies a little too much from Weird Al's cover, but it's executed very well.
The original song has a lot of meaning to it for me personally, as I grew up listening to the local oldies station. This was a song they played every night as they signed off in tribute to the original announcer at the station. Every day at the same time. Happy or sad I listened to it every night before going to bed.
To hear it like this, is just extra oof. Makes it even more special realizing it was played at Brony Bash two weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic. I think this has just about the same effect on me as Chant of Immortality.
Please, tell me what is the name of the original song? And who is the performer?
@@Lepestok_One Don McLean - American Pie. It's also known as The Day the Music Died. It was written in 1971 as a tribute to Buddy Holly and 2 others who died in a plane crash in 1959.
@@ZizzyDizzyMC Thanks. Well, I thought American Pie was the title of the song. I thought people were writing about the film.
You've done it...
You've finally made a version of this song better than Weird Al's version..
You sir, just broke a world record
As much as I love 4everfreebrony's work; I still think Weird Al's version is better.
@@tales9476 His version is shorter, though. However, it is a classic. ^^
To call this good is like calling work by JK Rowling, when nobody modify it great. I’m not joking, look up work by her when nobody messed with it. It is bad!
I won't be here for the premiere, but this is one of my favorite songs of this album to listen to at work, especially alongside Even More Awesome Than Me. Gives me peace of heart and mind.
I’m playing all the cover songs for my mom while we’re in the car and they’re screwing with her mind. She grew up with the originals so she’s trying to sing them. It’s fun to watch. This is the only cover that messes with my mind a bit during the chorus, but I’m so used to these than the originals
Jus by seeing the thumbnail already makes me feel sad and happy.
Never thought i’d be so happy to see a ponified American Pie :)
I adore your original songs and covers, but I'm always amazed when you rewrite something I would never have considered.
Thanks for sharing this.
Edit: "And a dragon slave." Someones been watching Dawn Somewhere ;) .
I can't believe he had to put a disclaimer for the "dragon slave" line because of certain people reading way too much into it.
@@arealconservative8712 @jeremy greenwood
In the chat replay. After the line appears, note how many people comment on it, including one person in particular who says something like "Considering the world we live in today, the writer of that line was very brave or very stupid, and I'm inclined to believe the latter." Then near the end of the song, 4everfree posts a message saying "it is a meme, I obviously did not intend any disrespect to black people or people whose family have been slaves."
I live in the far East and I will have 6:00 AM at the beginning of the premiere, even if I could listen to it in advance, but I want to feel the atmosphere so much that I will not sleep all night, waiting for perhaps one of the best songs of all time that I could hear
this song had me laughing and tearing up in equal measures, well done!
It never occurred to me until this song but it must have been pretty devastating to Celestia to send Twilight away so she could grow...
I’m just mind blown, as soon as I heard the beginning I was just jaw dropped. This song is great, reminds me of my childhood.
I definitely won’t be here as it’s at 4 PM for me, but your music is amazing, and my family thinks so too. Thanks for giving me music that I love that my family also loves.
Most importantly, thanks for showing the world how amazing it is when we all work together.
Woah, it's been seven months. I hope everyone that reads this is doing well! ^w^
Loved this! Hard to believe the song is 50 years old now, and the show has been over for 2 now.
Well this is a pleasant thing to watch on my birthday
Thank you to the Spotify algorithm for bringing me from Aviator's "Open Your Eyes" to this channel and its wondrous content.
He's just popping legendary songs that'll be in the community for year and years. That's literally crazy.
This be right in the middle of a Destiny Raid sessions with my friends, but I'll be sure to drop by and take a listen when I can
This best be in a garden run before weekly reset or I'll disappointed, gotta get on that pinnacle grind!
Not the first and hopefully not the last time I get to point out how much I love songs, that re-tell the events of an episode. Even if half of the songs are about the same one, the season 1 premier is simply where it all began for Twilight, her friends and the 4th generation in general. That was 10 years ago and I started being a fan 4 years ago, yet I feel so nostalgic for it. ^-^
This was such a joy to listen too 4everfreebrony i love it, i especially love how the song literally tells the beginning of Twilight's story, everyone did a magnificent and fantastic job on this masterpiece, kudos to you all, thank you so much for making us smile.😊
this song does a good job summing up the first few friendship is magic episodes but I think spike is more a brother to Twilight than a slave.
I agree. "Dragon Slave" was just part of a meme from the Mentally Advanced Series.
As always, it was a great pleasure to experience this with the community; Keep up the good work, I look forward to many more memories in the future.
Despite being a huge fan of your work, I somehow only just found this one, and I had the stupidest grin on my face throughout this whole song. Phenomenal work
I had lost motivation to play the American Pie piano piece. Then this optimistic piece had not only gave me motivation to move on, but also the connection of this song to my own life, and got me moving!
You did it once again, 4everfreebrony. You never cease to amaze us :’)
This is an amazing homage to one of my favorite songs! I remember when I was very young, the original would always play on the radio while we traveled and I loved how it sounded even though I didn't understand it. Your version, while obviously different, still captures that nostalgia while adding some Season 1 FiM nostalgia as well. Fantastic job!
Finally! Even though I've listen to this song many times recently I've still waited for it to be on UA-cam and you had to make it almost last! It's definitely my favourite from the whole album, but I'll still wait for Many a Lifetime of course :)
I keep hesitating to listen to new songs I find for this reason. It's too good. And now I will not be able to live without it. XD SO good dude, can't believe it took me this long to find this
You know a song is good when you sing along and can't stop smiling! Great job, man!
lovely, a truly beautiful rendition. renders one's soul full of harmony.
This song always had a special place in my heart... thank you for everything.
It's six in the morning for me.
No regrets.
First time listening, sounded weird with all the tones twisting here and there.
Second time listening, ok I guess it's not too bad... The good part starts when the drumbeat kicks in.
Third time listening + understanding the lyrics in detail, WOW ISN'T THIS JUST BEAUTIFUL.
Awesome job with the lyrics, relating how Twilight was first advised to make friends other than just focusing on her studies. The Season 1 episode 1 & 2 memories all came back in just a single 8-minute song.
Turn on captions and enjoy the hilariousness that will surely ensue. I can't stop laughing. Love it!
20 seconds in and I'm already happy with the song, because you used such a classic.
GREAT A NEW ATRIBUTE FOR MLP HISTORY
Haven’t been to one of 4everfreebrony frees premieres in a hot minute. Looking forward to this one
first halleluya in may, and now this :) Youre on a roll...and this song is a storng contender for LittleshyFIM "Top 10 pony videos of june"
gosh this by far my favorite of yours, its so beautiful. It also helps Twilight is my not so secret waifu. infinity/10 well done!
Was talking with you about Metroid with JeshPK, saw this in my subs and didn't think it was real...
Dang man, just dang.
It's amazing.
This fits too well! I love these lines and the bass!
It's almost nine years now, the day the magic began for me.

This is now my official favorite version of this song! I absolutely love it! I used to sing the Star Wars version whenever I heard the tune, but now I'm singing this one. Truly a masterpiece!!
This is legendary man thank you
Why is it that I can sing this, in the same key, with the same notes, as the original, but I can barely sing the original? This is beautiful, but I’d ruin it if I tried to do a cover of it. Well done as always.
Wow.... the day the music died. I listened to this in high school. This is a fucking masterpiece. Well done sir.
Funeral song of the G4 fandom. R.I.P
Oh. This is not what I was expecting, but it's certainly a pleasant surprise. I love every rendition of the royal sister's conflict, and a full musical is pretty solid. Also, 'dragon slave'? lmao
a classic....remade into a new classic. /)
Love you guys
Beautifully amazing as always
Heard this one for the first time at Harmonycon this year; I missed it when it originally came out, came as one hell of a surprise
Wow! Love it all, thank you for this masterpiece
Always so fluffy and good ponified songs !!! Really good one ! :)

Such a wonderful adaptation of American Pie. Simply magical, ^_^
Wow… Great Version. :)
Not sure what it is, but your last few songs posted all left me with tears in the eyes but still smiling. Thank you.
This is FANTASTIC!!
It reminded me of the very first MLP:FiM series! They're cutest and warmest! So many feelings, so many pleasant memories.
I will never forget my feelings when I watched the pony series for the first time.
The Magic Of Friendship Lives On Forever In Equestria.
This is wonderful! I love it!
*Premiers in 18 hours* Hmmmm... do I sit here and do absolutely nothing, and wait... or do I do something that actually contributes to society? *Update: I waited* *P.S. It was worth the wait*
This is criminaly underviewd.
Awesome, I like the long lyrics. I'd never thought a good song can be this long.
I would absolutely love to hear a ponified version of Piano Man by Billy Joel.
This is amazing though, well done!
well, in case you haven't stumbled upon it by chance since you commented this: It has been done more than ten years ago by Dustykatt ua-cam.com/video/WcZqLqvYc8E/v-deo.html
this song warms my heart that everyone is keeping it going.
I needed this today =p
Oh sweet celestia i was bout to fall asleep but then look who showed up with a song thats literally bout the first 2 eps of the show honestly i was like "so far its been happy jolly tunes whatever" but then i rmber its 4everfreebrony no way he could leave a sad twist....n boi...boi the last verse n chorus u....uuuuu! U just made my lullaby n probabaly sweat my eyes a bit TwT
...I literally never expected this. Best. Parody. EVER.
The only thing that would top this is if somehow they made a version of Mr. Tanner that was about Lyra (there was a comic that had this, p popular iirc) or they covered pony.fm/tracks/729-my-equestria
Was expecting "oh twi twi" but wasnt dissappointed
Stunning
Don McLean would love this. As A Don McLean fan I love this song
THE GOOSEBUMPS
Also made me cry ty.
WOW. This is amazing!!!
Damn, I love 4everfreebrony so much.
I love using an old familiar beloved song to tell a story that to many of us has become old, familiar, and beloved.
Please sing more songs with that so hard uplifting art, it's so awesome!
YAY i love twilight cause i like to read and learn new things like her
I am more like rainbow dash cause I like to run a lot and my 3 mile time is 27:14 which is the minimum to be able to run for the military at my age
Have you ever tried to cringe while laughing hysterically? I can now say that I have.
That's frankly awesome, and the scariest part is that it works, and scans pretty well...
I own this album. I heard this song endlessly, why does this make me tear up. I feels are too reals TwT
The words that get repeated in the song are very catchy.
love it
This is awesome ty
He used one of my favorite songs and made it into this, its amazing
