The vegetable garden looks great..............you are getting some very hot weather(breaking records ''all over the shop''), looked lovely and cool through the forest. Can get very confusing along the forest tracks ......The waterfall would have been a nice respite in full flow, gorgeous views at that viewpoint. Beautiful walk guys, really enjoyed it.....ATB........Stu......👌👍😊☀
Thanks Stu, if we had gone at 9am it would have been too hot. The viewpoint is always a fantastic spot with the Atlantic Ocean very visible too. Hopefully we can get some more walks done soon. Regards, Ashley
I love an early start and been retired almost 6 months now and never been in bed after 08.00 yet. You sounded knackered at 06.00 lol but for me the best part of the day, especially in this heat. I liked that Trail T-Shirt mind, looked good and shorts short or 3 quarter are a must in this weather. Looked a nice walk but 28C is far too hot for me, I would be drained, so you are right, I would be on that seat and for a long time too lol! I love it when you head out early and you walk and walk and not see anyone else, just like you say as well, the light is so much better early doors, especially if you are after a few good photos. Loved the sound of the waterfall and rainforest came intro mind, especially in that heat. Looked a good walk out at the best part of the day, cheers Alan
I was indeed a bit dopey at 6am!! However, it was definitely the right thing to do. Weather has returned to normal service so watching out for the next dry day to get our walking fitness up. We are still on track for Sept to return to the lakes, just hoping no government changes between now and then. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure. Regards, Ashley
Wow loved your vegetable garden, self sufficiency at its best! Always nice to go hiking in these continued strange times, your route looked really well laid out! Lovely woodland and yes, you got so see at least a trickle of water! Definitely sounds as if the heatwave has had a big effect on the area!
We have now harvested quite a bit and eaten some of it but we continue to learn. We've got Beetroot, Spring onions, Carrots, cabbage and 2 squash plants still going but these aren't labour intensive. We are finally getting back to the Lake District on 3rd sept and hope to do many walks when there. Looking forward to your next epic! Regards, Ashley
I am very envious of your garden...someone certainly has a green thumb. Mine is so far behind as our spring weather was so cold and late getting in. Now off for a hike...sure like the wide tracks as it makes walking with Otis a little easier. Love that viewpoint! Fantastic! Take great care now...Bruce and Otis
Bruce, I seem to have missed this comment, sorry. Thanks for watching. The garden is changing every day, the potatoes and onions are harvested, but we still have carrots, cabbage, spring onion and beetroot still to come, plus the 2 squash plants. The hedge has also been cut between the showers. We are off to the Lake Distrcit at last in 2 weeks time so will have a lot of videos to process and upload then. Regards, Ashley
