My cardiologist recommended Kardia AliveCor and its been brilliant, I've avoided going to the ER on multiple occasions thanks to having this device on my phone, home diagnostics, self medication, no more need for ER for 8 years.

The Kardia mobile gives a very unstable, artifact filled tracing and I cannot get it to work in landscape view on either my iphone Xs or ipad pro 11”.

Unfortunately, in 2022 Kardia is still not approved for detecting a heart attack. I don't know if that's due to it's technical performance or the fear that people who would normally go to the hospital will stay at home if the device doesn't tell them to go.

It's simply because the Kardia is either 1 or 6 lead. The guidelines write that for detecting a heart attack a 12 lead EKG has to be done. This means that a doctor can use a Kardia for extra information and to detect it easier, but in the end a confirmation by an 12 lead EKG done by a cardiologist or GP still has to be done.

@@Ali-ib5in not a GP but more appropriately an EP (emergency physician).

A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. I don’t think you should ignore these common symptoms before a cardiac arrest kicks in, it’ll be too late then. You’ll need CPR flowed by an AED rather than a KardiaMobile.
Cardiac arrest is the sudden loss of blood flow throughout the body resulting from the heart not being able to pump blood efficiently. It is a rapidly fatal medical emergency requiring immediate intervention with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until further treatment can be provided.

Any EGC/EKG cannot detect a heart attack. Not even medical grade. A doctor is required.

I bought this product, it gives me so many different results in a row, Normal, then possible atrial fibrillation, then normal again. I'm not really sure why...
