I was originally like “oh cool WHM has light spells for ShB because we’re on the First and the ambient aether is all light-aspected” but then they just… made it glare/dia again. Stone 4 is one of the best animations in the game, so I’m real disappointed they just stopped with the CNJ elements.
Oh my god, the sheer effort to do some of these vfx. Finally I can also have a BLM vfx set that's more fitting to my gal's story too! I absolutely love this! Time to put some of those more esoteric secrets of Old Ampdapor to use!
One thing I particularly love about this is how the choice of spells for the two stances fits nicely into FFXIV’s setting and lore. Shadowbringers showed us that what we’d called Umbral energy was defined as Light and Stasis. Whereas Astral energy is Dark and Activity. So, choosing to put the pure Light and Holy spells in the Umbral stance, and the distinct elements in Astral, fits really well.
@@undvined while those are true of the elements’ general leanings, any of elements can be aspected towards dark or light. For example, Fire can be Umbral (towering flames that burn fuel down and spread fast), or Astral (dry heat that slowly desiccates an area and leaves it as dried out sand). The Empty on the First is a good example of every element (including active ones like fire and lightning) being Light aspected to the point of it all collapsing into dead sand. What I like about this mod is that when you tilt yourself towards Light/Umbral, all the elements filter into just Light. It’s when you swing back to Dark/Astral that they split into distinct elements again.
Been using this for a bit. My character uses a very angelic aesthetic for all of their glamours, and this is probably one of the highest quality VFX mods I've seen. The spinny casts and holy-themed abilities really makes me feel WHMy while playing one of my fav DPS jobs. Thanks a ton and I look forward to everything you do in the future!

@@CadeAid1 If they use ANYTHING that is not their asset created from blender, steal it. Dur. If it's an artists fully made item, like most of BlackJaques catalogue. Then no. You're quite literally just a POS in that case.
@@CadeAid1 Example, I create on Second Life. And have found MY OWN meshes, on Final Fantasy, being given out for free. When I charge quite literally 50 cents. You're just entitled is all. Learn the difference between art and theft.
it always surprises me how a simple (not really cause they are not easy to make) vfx/animation mod can change the entire feel of a job and make it more fun or appealing then before.
@@TheAbyssro Alot of is how bad alot of the animations and vfx look by default but are hidden behind screenshakes and blurs. Doesnt help that SE keeps taking away GOOD animations like butchers block and replaces them with poop. Or how bad the DRK looks while moving with its weapon out.
Okay, I like White Mage. I like holy magic. I like healing. I don't like DPSing. ...but if they made a WHM/Geomancer (or something similar) split like how ACN splits into SCH/SMN...those animations would be AMAZING for the GEO half of that split. Also, like/sub since, even if I disagree with the idea, I really do understand and appreciate the work that went into this and seeing some neat takes on high level spells of the various schools and lines.

I was really sad to see Stone and Aero removed from WHM’s kit when ShB came out, and watching this makes me miss it even more wondering what kind of madness WHM’s could have done with their set of elements other than light lol. Heya, I love the concept considering how much I miss cleric stance! Mind if I make a few suggestions though? To keep it consistent with whm's spells, I was thinking that thunder could be replaced by the aero line, with fire being stone Fire 4=Stone 4 Flare=Quake Thunder 3=Aero 4 Thunder 4=Tornado Water 4 being used in place of Fire 3 would be neat, since High Fire 2 and Fire 3 are both used to transition from umbral to astral As for the holy spells, I was thinking Blizzard 3=Glare 3 High Blizzard 2=Holy 3 Freeze=High Holy If Foul's Afflatus Melancholy, it might be best to have Xenoglossy be Afflatus Misery instead, though I'm not 100% sure what paradox would be. Anyway, those are just my thoughts, but I love the concept!
Any chance we could maybe get some of the remaining icon replacements for the skills? Like how Fire 1 could be Stone's icon, and Fire II could be Fluid Aura's. I know the ones from Grey Mage are still around but they aren't all here for this one. I adore this mod and those icons would make it perfect!

As I'm already angry that youtube suggests me a mod showcase, I'm wondering why. Why doing something holy for a BLACK mage who's supposed to use dark magic? Why upgrade other job's skills to give it to black mages? I see monk, white mage and tank's skills, then you just have to play those jobs... I'll never understand this need to modify a game which gives already what you search...
Lol... What the actual... Maybe because RPGs are notoriously bad at filling the fantasy of a holy dps class. Even worse, you are often forced to fight against enemies who fill this very niche. Games are notoriously bad at providing options when it comes to magic, such as water magic, wind magic etc... Its always fire, ice and lightning. And even worse in a FF game where there always has been damaging spells of all elements. This mod fills that fantasy niche for your character.
