- Eggs are so expensive at the moment and there is just one simple reason why Eggs Keep Getting Expensive, I am saying this from a poultry farmer pov . Eggs are the cheapest source of animal protein at the moment and while it is sad that it keeps getting Expensive, there is really nothing a farmer can do . When the price of feed increases, the price of eggs also increase

Well, it's a bit scary for not just new people coming into the business but also for farmers currently in the business. However , for a business to survive and be sustained , all indices should be recorded and pricing should be based on those indices . Thank you for watching.
Feed costs are crazy right now due to ill thought out government policies
18,000 for New Hope's cheaper layer feed or 17050 for Hybrid layer feed but New Hope is best
That's why many smaller poultry farmers have packed shop
Only saving grace is scaling up production & maintaining a 80% and above laying rate
Even bigger farms that compound feed or use concentrates are switching to bagged feeds
Those producing meat birds are buying feed even higher at over 20-22 k depending on the product
Yet some people are asking for the borders to be opened for cheap unhealthy imports, without realizing that closed borders are what is still keeping the fewer poultry farms alive and afloat
This is just the absolute truth and it sad that is is our current reality in our country . The saving grace is just to have 80% and above production rate so as to stay aflot while we hope that things get better .

Poultry Farming is not funny now in Nigeria,we are buying feed here at 17100,we are selling a tray at 4800 switching to 5000.

We that is New poultry farmers my sister went to go and buy feed today price increase 2000 or 3000 in one bag of feed that I bought today

Feed production is a whole lot , as getting raw materials is such a bottle neck hurdle and we currently do not have the capacity for it . Thank you for watching
