Prison abolitionists are going to like this video. This shaman is a pretty convincing example of their idea that prison doesn't help with rehabilitation or reform. Guy is like a mirror image of how he was before prison. We'll see how his recidivism pans out.
From experience I can tell you prison is absolutely not for rehabilitation. They throw you in there, make you fend for yourself, make you find some way to kill time, etc. They do nothing for you. Hell, seeing the nurse for a couple Ibuprofen is $20, where I am at least. When you're in there, you are nothing but a number on a sheet of paper to them. They don't WANT to rehabilitate you, so that you will most likely come back, meaning even more money for the state. It's sad. Once during 30 days I had to do in county, this homeless guy left and came back maybe less than a week after he left. Jail is only good for housing the homeless.
How would change this guy's mind? It's constantly reinforced by the bubble he lives in, I think even with a dedicated therapist just for him he wouldn't have changed, maybe it'd have reinforced his views even... In any case it's obvious prison systems don't even try, they're huge failure all around the world, hopefully it'll change at some point

@@PurePessimismyour name is very fitting.
I think it's a good thing you pointed this out. Those actions he did should not be forgotten, and he should answer for what he has done to those women.
I also think that if we want a better society, not only do we have to hold people accountable for their transgressions, we have to allow for them to continue to be a meaningful part of society. Rehabilitation is better than punishment. If we want more sentencing besides death or exile, we need the capacity to accept that these transgressors exist. I don't think that means everyone has to like or forgive someone for their transgressions, but I do think guilt by association or never being able to more than your worst actions will ultimately cause more issues than it solves.

shocking that throwing someone in an isolated cell for 2 years doesn't improve their mental health
USA prisons were never about reducing recidivism, and always about preserving legal slavery.
How would change this guy's mind? It's constantly reinforced by the bubble he lives in, I think even with a dedicated therapist just for him he wouldn't have changed, maybe it'd have reinforced his views even... "he is someone who has reached the conclusion that something is wrong, but not smart enough to realize what it is"
Aren't we all?
Such great interviewing as always. Had never heard of “Q-shaman” and didn’t expect to empathize with him by the end.
Andrew i have a high school friend that was at the capital riots that ended up killing my parents neighbor in a dui manslaughter please interview her. Her name is Emily Hernandez thank you
Yikes
AYO?!
"My ancestors were some of the few survivors of the Trail of Tears" he says, as the camera pans over the Valknut and Mjolnir tattooed on his torso.
Somehow, that makes "Very proud of my heritage" that comes right after shine in a slightly different light.
Hahahah he is a Sjkélíngr
Can you be of multiple heritages? Or are you some kinda anti multi racial bigot?
he claims to be cheyenne which were not involved in the trail of tears.... as with everything with these pricks, its nonsense perpetuated by misinformed imbeciles.
Also I am 90% sure the Cheyanne Tribe had nothing to do with the Trail of Tears.
Love how the shaman just shows up screaming like hes a wild pokemon
😆😆😆
it's crazy how to capitol police guided them through the building, with 100's of federal agents involved with the crowd outside before it happened
Cops escort people breaking laws for the sake of safety all the time. It’s not surprising they did this before it got out of hand. Maybe if trump didn’t withhold the Feds and national guard for so long it could’ve been handled differently. But that doesn’t negate these people broke the law, no matter who is leading you. Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
He only spent 27 months. 41 months ago was before Jan 6 even occurred.
uh no

First, he received "good time," which allows days to be knocked off your sentence if you behave in prison. Second, he is in a "residential reentry management facility" until May per NPR. That's why he's out of prison.
The man, the legend! I couldn''t believe when I saw the 5 in the notification. Welcome, good sir. Use this chance well, Andrew. Don't screw up.
Idk if we can call sexually assaulting people "screwing up" Andrew should probably have gone to jail
@@lavishcoleScrew up his life.
So did Andrew change his entire appearance because of the whole accusation thing or for this interview? Honestly hard to tell
It’s a follow through on the ‘off duty cop who lacks accountability for his sexual harassment’ aesthetic
what was he accused of?

“Wacky risky stuff” you mean treason?
@@JJ-xt2dq Yeh I'm not American and if someone commits treason against America (without hurting anyone) my only opinion is "haha"

That actually sounds like a guided tour to me.
The fact you bring some clips for context makes this video a 10/10 for me. Great interview
