@ That’s because regardless of the play calling and creativity of the offense they’re still blocking every play. They get to showcase their talent every single play regardless of how much the offense sucks.
I agree with getting rid of Halsey and Pope. Glen Ellerby is best `OL teacher out there. He may be a bad recruiter, but 50% of sacks and hurry’s were inability of WR to get open. No imagination in offense.
@@Smithsj82 long developing play calls. But Campbell went downhill as far as ability. Yes he’s injured. Lance Heard got better as the year went on, but Spraggins didn’t look as good as he did in 2022 or 2023. Coop was Coop, missed some blocks but solid. Kuric was decent this year as well. I’m looking at our guys and they don’t look like others. They don’t look as strong. Like the strength/conditioning coach isn’t getting it done, or is too easy on the guys.
@rhrh2025 Players from opposing teams post-game have confirmed it. Easy pickings in deciphering our next move. How does the coaching staff not see this? NFL teams throw in new wrinkles EVERY week. We haven't changed since 2022.
I’m wondering if Nico is being trained to his potential with the quarterback coach. Why wouldn’t a player hit the transfer portal when they know they will get offered more money to stay!
If they aren't committed to Tennessee and this Team. Show them the door and get him out of this program! Yes there needs to be an OC and DC upgrade and some real soul searching but we need to go forward with Talented and committed Players.
The level of experience and coaching seniority significantly impacts success in all sports, and football is no exception. Much like chess, football is a game of moves and countermoves, requiring strategic thinking and adaptability. Coaches must not only recognize the schemes they're facing but also understand their core principles and anticipate effective counters. Mastery of this process often determines whether a team can outwit its opponent and execute a winning game plan.
@keithjefferson9189 Amen. An insurrection of one position group (receivers) should also tell you something about your staff. Pope clearly has issues and has been exposed by player comments since leaving the program.
Go pay Mathews 5 star WR what he wants and go out and get 2 or 3 more WR and pay them what they want like Ohio State, Oregan, AL, Texas, Georgia etc spend the money to get and keep the bluechips players like Ohio State that has 19 5 stars and over 40 4 stars players twice as many as TN so TN go pay the money like Ohio State to get the 5 stars and 4 stars and keep them like over 22 millions spent like Ohio State, Oregan, Texas, etc.
All of this tampering is ridiculous! There’s teams throwing some crazy money out there, if you don’t believe that you have your head in the sand. I trust the coaches and the system! GBO 🍊🏈
I think the easy fix for both transfer and NIL is this...if player like nico signs for 4 years 8 million. If they transfer, the next team pays a buyout on the contract and the new NIL salary. That fixes both
If someone transfers they won't get further NIL from us and it will be up to the new team to make a new NIL deal... typically for the players that are ballin out that means more NIL
That's correct on the nil money. If u transfer u have to pay the money back or the team u transfer to has to pay it. And if ur making this money the taxpayers should not b paying for ur education. Pay for it urself.
Let nico go. I'm tired of hearing the freshman crap. He's been n this system for two years and should be farther along than what he is. And tenn stop kissing these players butt. If u don't like playing here get on ur horse and leave town. U players need to grow up or go back to Grammer school and tell uf self u need to grow up.
It doesnt surprise me at all that are WR's are leaving. This as a fan should tell you that there is something wrong. The OC and WR coaches need replaced and with coaches who have legit proven resumes with recruiting, developing elite players.
Wow, can't believe 5 star Matthews is leaving. We're going to lose more if coaching doesn't step up. How long before donors to Spyre cut back due to lack of results on the field? When NIL money dries up, the team dries up.
If you are paying a QB $2 mil a year and he's not productive til year 3, that's a miss. If you pay big $$$ for portal players and they are not ready to produce almost immediately, that's a miss. Need better player evaluation.
I know the current thinking is we have to play guys sooner in order to keep them, but how many young guys are READY to play - mentally and physically? I KNOW Coach G doesn't want to rotate guys in he doesn't think are ready because that hurts the older, or harder working players out there. He said it wasn't fair to do that in a presser this year. I get that. You can't MAKE a guy try harder in practice or do extra film study. And I'm not saying it's all on the players. Less than stellar coaching can also create underperforming players. BUT If a guy isn't progressing with a good coach, yet is demanding more money, he's Got To Go. Coaches, collectives, schools, shouldn't be held for ransom. We can't have the tail wagging the dog. I have faith if coaches are the issue, Danny White will fix it - with or without CJH's help. We shall see.
Let Mike go bring in jr. 2 WR. He has no bargaining chips to request $. If he was better than our WR this year he would be playing. Let him go and bring in 2 6'4 JR. WR.
Nico reported flirting 1:26 with the transfer portal. This was a bust this season at QB. He was outplayed by opposing QB'S Several times this year. QB's that don't make near this guy makes at Tennessee. He under performed weekly and couldn't hit a long pass to save his life! Wide open receivers as well. He should repay Tennessee for his poor performances. Let him go and save the overpayment. There are quality QB's behind them that could do as good or perhaps do better! Give them a chance and show this bum the door!
@christopherharrell32 At times, the issue was on Nico. Others, it was on receivers and coaching - QB, as well as receivers. After the resulting mass exodus, it seems Pope needs to change, or be replaced.
Vols still have scholarship losses per year till 2028 due JP SCREW UP. With the guys committed out of high school this year does not leave a lot of room to load up on the portal. So they have to hit home runs on the few portal players they get.
Wow, avg 10 wins over the past 3 seasons, finally getting out from under sanctions, make the CFP and here is Vol Nation dogging on the coaches. I can think of 30 or so passes that woulda been TDs if they had been caught. The coaches were scheming guys open like 22, just we didn't complete. We did excellent OoC... and we have to accept that every SEC team is gonna have talent and play to beat us... We saw Nico progress as he got more and more experience playing against the most talented rosters. Can we tamp the negativity and be glad we made the CFP when Ole Miss, Bama, SC, and Midzou didn't...
No he has not taken a step forwarx. N Hez no better now than he was last year.. Fhese kids keep playjng these stupid games and these players will start getting boked.
If Coach H doesn’t get some new coach’s then it’s on him. He could be the one holding us back! GBO
@@aaronadkins1724 Agree
Go tell Matthew's 15 minutes after he asks to stay " You are no longer wanted at Tennessee."
Thanks for the update Bull.
As long as Halzle is the OC, I’d be leaving too. He’s terrible. Pope and Ellerby need to go too!
Notice the worst players ( O line ) aren't threatening to leave?

If they want to leave … then leave. We need some mature young men who want to be here, not children.
Nico and his family sat down and wanted to see the plan moving forward. The next step. Who they are getting around him. Etc
OC is a junior college guy. Offense has zero adjustments and even less creativity.
