Hi Michelle, I think I'm understanding the question... When you add the last 3 knit stitches to the first 4 knit stitches you're knitting 7 STS, which also looks like: {Row 5: K4 *P1, K7* last 4 stitches P1, K3}. Please let me know know if I completely misunderstood. I hope this helps. Thank you for asking!

Thank you for the tutorial. What stitch do you recommend for the border?
Hmmm... the garter stitch is a classic, but I think a seed stitch edge might look nice too. :)
Thank you for that I work it out I like the Patton is it good for a blanket
I made a pillow cover with this pattern and I think it would make a lovely blanket, maybe with a seed stitch border :)
When I put it on more number of sts it don’t seam work can you help I won’t it for a shrug and a jumper
Hi how many stitch will l need to do seed stitch for the board
It looks like a lot of stockinette between the diamonds so does the finished piece have a lot of curling and need to be blocked?
I don't think it has a "lot" of curling, it does curl a little bit though. A border would definitely help and blocking would help even more!
Hi can you tell me row 5 cause it is not the same as you have it down on the Patton
