I wonder how many shops would have said it needs an expensive repair......mechanic shops are famous for this.

Hey Mike, is there anyway to upgrade the "receive" on my Mark4A without butchering my rig? Its not important enough to cause unrepairable damage to my Eagle. Just curious. Thanks for any input you might have sir! and great videos!

Mike, I am a huge fan of your videos! I have watched many of them. As a young teenager back in the 70's I had a Beta 23 channel mobile cb radio that I talked on all the time using my Penetrator 500 base antenna with a Turner +2 mic. Loved that radio but always loved the sounds of the Browning Mark III and then the Mark IV. I'm older now and earlier in the year I was browsing online and found a Browning Mark IV base that powers up but I don't seem to be receiving any signal when hooked to a antenna and I can tell some mod has been done to the mic jack also. I REALLY want to get this radio brought back to working condition and from your video's I can see you are technical and detailed. This is my dream radio and I know your thoughts on the PLL and things. Would you consider bringing this radio back to working condition for me or be able to recommend a place that could bring it back to life for me? The chassis and front all seem to be in GREAT shape considering the age. I have pics available for your consideration so you can see what you'd be diving into. I look forward to your reply!

I have a Mark IVA and it receives...and it will key up and peg the mod meter....but it has no power out the back...shows nothing on my dosy test center.......and the meter works fine.....I also tested all the tubes...and the tubes are all strong?

As you and I spoke previous, a dislike for "chicken choker" style mic's just like this TUG8, the contacts inside the neck also cause issues, I have one now that kinda works, the bar works great, it's the choker that don't....with that said, it's not the cause of the issue here, just usage! I remember these radios back in the day just tearing up the bandspread, at least 180 channels either way! Squak! :)

Just listening to that little bit from the toilet bowl channel do you need to ask why CB radio is now known as the children’s band?
