Lovng your vids mate. I've always enjoyed a bit of wild camping & cycling separately, but am now looking forward to bikepacking. Got family in Weston & I live in Norfolk & plan to ride the Icknield way & Ridgeway on a trip to see them. All these routes are new to me & have been a real revelation!
    Great vids. Keep it up👍

Hey, well combine all your hobbies into one! Ridgeway is brilliant, I in fact got back from riding it again yesterday and it is in a good condition at the moment, so go ride it :-)

Hello Barry...only just noticed this one. I was working in Reading and stating there during the week. I always take a bike when I’m working away and I’ll ride after work. I know that bridge in Goring very well and I did a lot of exploring in that part of the children’s. Thanks for stiring the old memory. Can’t beat a bit of nostalgia. I rode out on the Kennet and Avon canal a fair few times too.

Wonderful Robert! Yeah recon there is a lot more trails in that area than I know. And also done the Kennet canal a few times Bristol way :-)

Obviously that should have said ‘Chilterns’ and not ‘children’. Only just noticed the typo.

Hi Barry. I think I've watched all your videos twice through now. Loving the BG tips in particular, makes me re consider alot of my rig for bike packing. I grew up between Frome and Wells. So this video has really got to me recently, makes me really miss my family and friends and the good times I've had riding there. I moved to Cumbria a few years ago to be nearer decent hills for my mountain bike adventures. Just wanted to say thankyou for all your work. Your positivity and the inspiration you give to me is really needed. Thankyou.

Thanks so much Ben!!!! I am so glad you enjoy my adventures. But out of all the places I have ever visited, the Lakes still have my heart! So can totally understand why you moved. I would love to know what changes you end up making to your set up, and let me know what silly trails you end up riding down on it :-) Happy adventuring Ben!

Hello from the Basque Country Barry. I love your videos and your approach to cycling/travelling. I was wondering.. the bike in this video is different from the genesis longitude you ride in later videos, right? As I understand it, you went from a 29er wheels bike to a slower but comfier 27.5+ bike, am I right? I ask you all this because I have a similar bike (nordest sardinha) with 2 wheelsets: 27.5+ and 29. I bought the 29ers because everybody recommended them to me but as my riding is style is relaxed like yours I eventually bought the 27.5+ and I am seriously considering selling my 29ers. Thank you for all your videos.

Hey there! thanks so much! I have always had the same Genesis Longitude backpacking bike, love it. When I built it it was 29 x 2.5 but very quickly made it 29 x 3inch and been riding it like that for about 5 years now! And I love it, all the huge diameter make it roll amazingly when it gets going, and comfort and grip of the 3 inch tyre, means I can ride very challenging trails even rigid, love i!t. Happy pedalling!!!!

Why don’t you make a ebook with all the journeys mapped out, sure it would sell, in fact might do it myself 🤔

Barry Godin since the lockdown the world has changed and oddly cycling has emerged as one of the few the winners, in the next five years bike packing will be massive and you have a foothold on a growing market, likeable knowledgable and marketable, find time mate it might change your life, social media is the new media and that's where the money is heading from sponsors but there's a lot of competition out there
