iPad mini is a tight fit. They only advertise it for a 7" tablet, in other words for a modern phone. I believe the Delrin (or other hard nylon) for the belt is made out of nylon, not metal, so it will give under extreme pressure to protect our body. No one is going to drag it off us, but stuff sometimes gets caught in machinery (for example, in an elevator door or escalator edge. The one complaint I have - I have the preceding model - is that it is a slow process to adjust the belt width. I like it snug for airport transits, and loose on the airplane seat.
