About a yr ago, 26 yrs old ,suffering from tinnitus had an surgery of moving away the artery abutting the auditory nerve , it has resolved the problem totally, in chennai India.
Dr. Suzanne did a superb job explaining how the ear transmits sound waves and what changes when those tiny hairs become damaged. It's the most detailed explanation I have ever heard. Thanks for sharing that information.
Had a loud tinnitus 3days ago like a 6-7/10 after feeling a pressure in my left ear that caused it to hear stuff in a non clear manner, went to a doctor and he prescribed me with an earwax cleaner with some pills.. as the doctor said My left ear was so full of the wax and fluids. now the tinnitus is barely noticable like a 0.5-1/10 and it doesn't have that ringing sound which was the thing that deprived me from my sleep. Been watching ur vids lately and reading the comments, this made me really aware of how these types of illnesses can have major depressive moods on the person when u feel like u just lost something that makes u just normal as anyone else.. it was terrifying for me and this experience revolted so much of my thoughts about how we should aim for helping each other as humans cuz no one deserves to go through that pain. Thanks for ur channel and ur dedicated value toward this tinnitus, the world is a much better place with people like you around it whom - even if they cannot directly help - but they at least care.

Thank you for the very useful explanation. If tinnitus is a consequence of mismarking by the relay cells, what happens when masking the tinnitus noise with other noise? So, why without masking noise the tinnitus sound is marked as important, but the same tinnitus sound is marked as not important when the masking noise is also present?
I have hearing loss in the left ear since childhood and now suffering from tinnitus in the right ear from 3-4 years now. Can this be fixed permanently? Can you suggest treatment for this?

Great information I was not told the brain and ears work together my tintintus was with me every sense a child no doctor told me what was go on I have hearing aids now it' been hard brain damage the cause
I’m a long Hal Covid-19.October 27,2020 I was in the hospital17 days. I lost my hair. Inflammation lost sense of smell, and taste is still different. May2021 I woke up to the most high pitch of ringing nothing like what I have ever experienced. I have no peace only louder noise blocks this I go to sleep with my iPad . I have fluid in my bone from a brain scan. The ear specialist said this had nothing to do with my ringing I want to scream it’s horrible it’s in my head more than my ears. There are more of us long haulers that have this.some killed themselves as it drives us crazy!
i got sudden tinnitus head static AND pylsatule tinnitus from covid too! 7 months now 24/7 it is worse than any other long haul symptoms at this point! paxxil and 8 hr tylenol help me! of course having other crappy covid symptoms on TOP of tinnitus is just s--t!

This was a very clear, detailed explanation! Quick question - is it possible for a water irrigation procedure to clean wax out to possibly bend/hurt the cochlear hairs? A nurse in my doctor's office did this in my right ear 4 months ago. It was very loud and I felt a lot of pressure. The very next morning, I woke up with and still have constant tinnitus. My hearing has been checked twice with only a slight dip between 2-4k in both ears. Thank you for any thoughts/advice you can provide!
Very educational, thank you! I've had hearing tests, as well, and basically it's normal but there is a slight dip in the 4K Hz range. Using the Dalesnale videos, I think my tinnitus is around 13K Hz, so wouldn't show up on a normal hearing test.
@@GM-bq6zo I got it from going to an outdoor concert and forgetting my ear plugs. I thought that since it's outside it wouldn't be that bad...but it was. It does a good job at masking but listening to them for any length of time at a high frequency seems to set it off. Lower frequencies don't seem to do that so much.
@@koolchem6653 mine is from a concert 18 years ago, it was never really that bad for years I'd only hear it when it was really quiet, but its been creeping up over last 5 years or so, think neck issues make it worse but so annoying trying to find out why.
@@GM-bq6zo Yep, mine is steadily getting worse, as well. I went to my ENT and since there was no other physical cause or any other loud noise exposure, the main reason she said it's getting worse is due to age-related hearing loss. I got this four years ago, but it's gotten like 4 times worse since then. I did have a hearing test which did show a drop in my hearing from my initial test, when I first got this tinnitus.

Wrong, the ears just hear , they have nothing to do with balance.
So it's the brain, not the ear
👍
JESUS CHRIST!!! The explanation I give everyone who wants to know what's going on with my tinnitus is, feedback from the brain do to hearing loss.
