    The GSC codex is one of the most well written books, cover-to-cover, in terms of balance, quality units, and combos for competitive play. Unfortunately, it has as a high skill curve that armies like Custodes and Tau don't where they are just straightforward/easy-button, and thus more forgiving.

    GSC 9th edition is a fantastic army to play. They are super fun and once you learn all their tricks, they have a reasonable chance to be able to beat any army you go up against.

    Been in deep with GSC for a few years, they are so flavorful , fun, and difficult to play with. The high skill ceiling is a cool challenge and can be very powerful on the tabletop in a master's hands

    Neat thing about kelermorph, is that you can drop him near your truck or rockgrinder, then he makes his perfect ambush shots, and use his move to hide inside transport. He also can shoot from inside of goliath truck, which is neat

    Rusted Claw Atalan Jackals with 2 demo charges (+ RC stratagem) + kelermorph with wyrmtooth rounds and deep strike turn 1 = reliably took out 6 man unit of hive guards and got me engage in all 4 Q. The RC Strat + the Start to give max shots to grenades are a fearsome combo turn 1 if you want something gone and only invest 58 points to do so (138 with kelermorph)

      Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only way the Kelermorph could come from reserves turn 1 is with 'From Every Angle' and that's Strategic Reserves.

    Shh. Shh. Don't tell them. Don't worry about the kellermorph. It's just pistols. No one even bothers with shooting their pistols. It's nothing.
    By the way, strating the shooting upon death is the funniest way to flip the bird to your opponent for killing your coolest model.

    Trick with GSC seems to be to start army building by picking out secondaries and going from there. As an army of glass cannons they don’t have staying power at all and you just can’t really hope to stand toe to toe with others. A very likely outcome with this codex seems to be to get completely tabled by turn 4 yet still win due to a massive lead in victory points.

    I know the purestrains are old enough to drive a moped and are sat next to the great current GSC range, but that 'Eavy Metal paint scheme certainly isn't doing them any favors.
    Throw some purple and blue on those pallid wretches with their open wounds, GW, so I can buy them without being reminded of that time E.T. got sick

    • @saltedllama2759
      @saltedllama2759 2 роки тому

      That's the problem with the Tyranids too: some old models, but more than that, the Leviathan paint scheme is incredibly dull to look at (especially on shelves). It just isn't attractive at all.

    • @richard_n

      The problem is that GSC can 1st round engage pretty easy and all that shooting becomes basically worthless

    • @saltedllama2759
      @saltedllama2759 2 роки тому +10

      The Tau shooting isn't what's winning tournaments. It's the fact that, for 1 CP, they can have three Devilfish full of AP -4 Breachers in the opponents' deployment zone, stretching 40" of coverage on turn 1. So they max score, delete a massive chunk of your army, and now you are boxed in, having to waste considerable resources to get rid of those. Oh, and behind them? Waves of Stealth Suits, Crisis Suits, a Commander, SkyRays, an hilariously underpriced Stormsurge, Hammerheads...

      @saltedllama2759 2 роки тому +5

    I haven't tested it, but a fun combo I'm brain storming is rusted Claw's warlord ability, entropy touch, on a patriarch and target something effected by inescapable decay. Supported by a pack of purestrain to act as body shield. Your putting a lot of eggs in one basket but its gonna hurt if it works

  • @Animiel1

    how about the sanctus? he auto hit anything, places crossfire markers and can wound support characters and potentially one shot them (easyer if psykers) not to mentin shout down auras with the stratagem. Plus difficoult to target and, once your enemies start to know this guy by fame, I easy imagine them try to screen their buffing characters instead of maximizing their aura efficency. I foud people usally care (maybe too much) for their characters.

    • @jiankundong7318

    Great video and great timing for a match against GSC I've got coming up next week. I've had first hand experience of a Kelermorph coming down behind my lines in a small 500pt game, getting 6 Wyrmtooth round hits on a squad of Tyranid warriors (not running crusher stampede that game so no invuls) and killing 4 of them :( Was so shocked by the whirlwind that I totally forgot I could have just used unyielding chitin to reduce the damage to 2 and would have taken half the casualties! You learn from your mistakes I guess!

    Great list🙂👍
    Aberrants are super underrated. With 1 cp, abominant and +1attack spell they avg over 50 wounds to t7 vehicles/monsters. Another cp for s9 and you comfortably kill 2 knights in one go😂
    They are also for their points some of the best tanks in the game I think. Running 2 blocks of 8-10 seems really powerful in a couple of trialgames I've done. Autowin vs custodes pretty much.
    Advance/fall back and charge from spell is great. 3d6 charge from reserves is great. Rusted claw/bladed cog has nice defensive buffs. Custom / pauper princes best aggresive🙂
    Also I think I disagree slightly with twisted helix being strongest. They build the best purestrains and have a good spell. But thats about it. Gsc shooting is VERY strong, custom/rusted claw build very fierce shooting oriented armies!
    To me there is no cult I'm not considering for strongest cult, they are all amazing, including custom.
    Also rockgrinder OP, always bring 3!😄

    • @craigkenny37
      @craigkenny37 2 роки тому +2

      I don't believe so no. The unit is 5-15 models, you can only take 2 drills per 5 models in the squad, the models only start with 2 attacks each, there is also a psychic power and proficient planning upgrade to give them +1 attack but they can't stack with each other.
